New Trailer !!1 + 2 Screenshots

"In Half-Life, the G-Man made you. In Half-Life 2, he used you to defeat Dr. Breen and start the Resistance. In Episode One, he's lost control."

MAde Gordon?

".. the G-Man, his mysterious goals apparently satisfied, reappears to once again toss his pawn into timeless cold storage.

Consciousness returns. Gordon and Alyx discover they've somehow escaped both the reactor explosion and the G-Man's malevolent grasp."

They do not have idea what happened (Valve) Do they?

"Consciousness returns. Gordon and Alyx discover they've somehow escaped both the reactor explosion and the G-Man's malevolent grasp. Before they can ponder their miraculous survival, the crippled Citadel lurches back to life just long enough to initiate a self-destruct sequence. With Alyx at his side, Gordon must flee a city in chaos before the Citadel's final detonation turns City 17 into a toxic, mutant-infested crater."

:S

One more thing. Eli AND Mossman seem to be in a very safe place. Same place, I think. How did they get out so fast?

Sorry, I wasn't aware there was a review board for these kinds of things. Oh, and:

This is an extremely bad case of stating the obvious that was stated around 12 months ago.

:p
:dozey: Was the first Aftermath trailer even out a year ago?

That trailer is awsome, and they didn't spoil anything, well done.
I am very excited for this game, it seems so awsome, but it still seems so far off.

Here is a zoomed in screenshot of that thing in the bubble, hopes this helps some how.

Doesn't look too much like Breen to me, I'm going with a Synth or the real Combine, probably Synth.

August, so 8 months. Close enough to a year for me :p

What was Mossman saying? "I'm going to cut you short they may have responded"?
"I better cut you short, we may have been spotted"?

Should we take the inclusion of his name on the site as confirmation that 'G-Man' is the official name of, uh, the G-Man?

It's not the first time he's been called the G-Man by Valve, that's happened in countless interviews and presentations. So in that sense he's been officially the G-Man for years. To me, only a reference in the game itself can stop the name from being anything more than a convenient way to reference the character.

I don't think it means 'take it as his official name', its just a simple way to note him as.

Yup, the site even says so: "The G-Man, as he's come to be called"

I did notice that the site referred to the G-Man as "an interdimensional bureaucrat". Proves that he's not entirely of this world, if anyone was still doubting it by this point.

Not only that but apparently he is a "sinister" interdimensional bureaucrat.
There goes the thinking that hes just a nice guy with a speech impediment, who would just nicely put Gordon into statis after he found out he escaped.

Some reason Episode One looks better than HL2. :p

Probably because Valve are running it on the most powerful gaming rig money can buy. Also, video editing/direction

Where did the reference "G-Man" come from anyways? Was it said in Half Life 1? Did someone in the community just start calling him that after HL1, and VALVe just adopted it? Because on the Episode 1 website, it says that that's what he's come to be called, but are they talking about by the fans? What's up with that?

Well , the falling debris at the start are low quality as well as the part with the car , alyx's hands and the inside of the car look very poor.

But of course , the game is WIP. I find it hard to belive that the final product will look like that.

It seems that the part of the gunship crashing is that scene PC Gamer mentioned with the wooden hut.

isn't the thing in the blue bubble a drop-synth? i kind of just assumed it was, and then we see one a bit later. maybe they're teleporting it in and it will have BOSSSSSSSS in it. remember they said there was going to be a boss.

But unless the citadel has two teleportation chambers, nothing is being ported in.

Teh Proof:
vortal_pic_155654.jpg
The room behind the Combine is where Alyx looks out and says "What the hell are they up to?" It is NOT the same control room from the end of HL2. Therefore, not a teleportation chamber.

it could be a secondary one, or a makeshift one, or one they didn't know was there. or maybe the one we destroyed only goes to the other worlds and there's one for coming to ours. use your imagination.

I don’t think a dropship would fit in that tiny, blue bubble.

Thats not how their teleporters work. At all. We destroyed what powers them.

Its not a teleporter, that I am certain of. The Citadel has only one portal, and that is the one merged with the reactor at the end of HL2. Destroying that destroyed the tunnelling entanglement system, and therefore even if it were a teleporter they would be unable of porting in.

The only thing the Combine can do at this point is put the Citadel into self destruct. If you remember Breen handed control over the Citadel and its reactor to the Combine so Alyx and Gordon couldn't tamper with it.

Is that the buggy that dropship has after the clip with the bubble?

I think Alyx is trying to shut down the self-destruct sequence and that door opens up with the bluish stuff. Then she realizes that she can't do anything about it because the combine are in control of it. At that point they realize that they gotta get out of City 17. Thats what I think anyways.

I am not sure if this has been posted, but on Facepunch, I've read that the object in the blue sphere is a Cremator. It think it is, just look closely. But it could either be Mech Breen, which is higly unlikely, a heavily wattered down and worsened AI Hydra, or a Cremator.

I also thought it's a Cremator in the sphere, it looks really similar. But why would a Cremator appear in it? Are they going to come out of the sphere, like a dozen Cremators coming out and going to the streets?

The only thing you see is some deformed silhouette. There really is no way of telling what’s inside, íf there even is something inside. But a hydra is impossible and a Cremator or some kind of mecha Breen is highly unlikely.

I don't think there is anything in that sphere. Its certainly not a Cremator or Hydra, its merely an energy core within the Citadel.

Well, think about. There has to be a reason Valve delayed it. Maybe, they dumdbed down the Hydra AI. Or, they could've changed the Cremator's roll. Anyways, I'm probably wrong.

Retail. Thats probably why it got delayed. And even better so, more time to fine tune it. I doubt we'll see the Hydra or the cremator anyway.
