What are some of the Next-Gen games or systems you don't really give a hoot about?

For me it would have to be Nintendo Wii - I have always hated Nintendo.
As for the game, it'd be Halo 3, Silent Hill, and Gears of War... They are just soo... meh.

Halo 3 - Same 2 games (Halo 1 and 2) the next just gets a makeover, same for #3, nothing new.

Silent Hill - Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Gear of War - Looks like good graphics, but everything else - bah.

Nintendo Wii - C'mon....

c'mon? c'mon what? It's freaking awesome >:0

anyway, I couldn't care less about the XB360.

Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. I don't care about neither. Nintendo Wii after watching the press conference looks like it could be interesting. But I likely won't get it.

Sony didn't have but a few games to show, and none of them interest me.

Most of the games for Nintendo systems didn't interest me either, however the Wii controller has some fun possibilities.

PS3. I'm sorry but it just isn't worth its sticker price for its tech and game library.

Whereas Wii is going for mass consumer appeal (and will most likely succeed) with the most interactive tech ever seen and XBox 360 has LIVE, marketplace, and Vista compatibility.

I don't see a future for PS3 unless it either creates new franchises or works really well with what they have, which isn't much considering FF will be on Wii and GTA IV on XBox 360.

I'm pretty outspoken in my disdain for the PS3's lame "new" controller.
The hypey popularity of Killzone 2 utterly mystifies me.
I'm also still kinda pissed at X-box 360 for squandering the Perfect Dark sequel, as PD1 is still on my list of all-time favorites.

Both systems don't really offer anything along the lines of innovation.
I do not consider improved graphics to be "innovative".
Both also have 1 or less games that actually look non-sucky.
By sucky, I mean if it is equal or inferior to the last-gen's games, gameplay-wise. Basically every game released for Xbox 360 so far fits this category.

So far, the Rev is the only one that hasn't actively pissed me off.

Well... Halo 3 will probably be extremely overrated, just like its predecessors. Gear of War leans on it's incredible graphics like a crutch from what I've seen, it look generic, generic, generic. Just another game that claims to be 'tactical' which means all you do is peek around corners and shoot guys instead of running around shooting guys, which is really the same only less fun. The outlook for PS3 looks pretty bleak, the only big title they have that nobody else does is MGS4.

Could care less for the PS3. I want a proper controller (or something cool like the Wii), not a batarang.

Ps3 and Xbox 360 I don't really care for. I'm sure they will make millions of others happy but they don't really do to much for me.

I will buy the Revolution..my first console since the Playstation and N64. Not that I havn't played on the Ps2, Xbox, or Xbox 360. I've played on all of them before as my cousins are more Console-Oreinted but still the Pc draws them in every time with games like Day of Defeat.

I gotta go pick up their old N64 I got to work since I lost mine. Sunday I had a ton of fun just playing Goldeneye on there old N64. Did a few missions, got them to play. I changed the contols to solitarie where the C buttons are move and the analog stick is look kind of felt like a keyboard. Turned off Auto Aim....heh I remember when I was a kid I always left that on and without it the game is actually somewhat of a challenge. On Multiplayer I think we use to leave it on all the time when we were kids lol. Now I turn it off cuz it's no skill. PAINTBALL MODE FTW!!!

The 360 seems pretty useless to me. The only good reason I can think to own one is that Bioware seems to develop their games only on MS systems, but unless they have a contract that could change this generation.

I was thinking about buying a Wii since it's supposed to be cheap and the controller is interesting, but now I'm starting to think it's more of a gimmick.

PS3 however however has the MGS series, ICO/Shadow team, and Naughty Dog exclusively. The online mode, at least to join servers and play, is free. Also, since it's going to be the most powerful and almost definitely have the largest userbase, it will get the best versions of multi-platform games (GTA, Timesplitters, etc.). Finally, the controller is better than the 360s. Oh yeah, it has a Blu-Ray player which will save some money down the line. The only disadvantage is cost (which is partially offset by the Blu-Ray player), but I don't plan on buying it for awhile anyway.

PS3 seems to be the lamest between the the 3 next gen consoles. Except for few games such as MGS4 and FFXIII, I proudly have to say Sony did a piss poor job for PS3.

xbox360 pisses me off.. i cant wait till my friend buys wii so i can try it out

Lmfao! :dork:

Unfortunately, they all have some serious pluses/minuses, making it really hard for me to say which one I like/dislike more. I probably won't get any now that I have heard about them until after I upgrade my PC for Vista and its titles. By then hopefully many of the games I have been waiting for will actually be out on these systems!!

Will probably get a DS Lite soon though...:p

The 360 doesn't have a nearly impressive enough lineup for me to really get interested in it.

That nintendo truck game.
PS3 console.
Halo 3.

Well, after viewing the Wii, the PS3, and the 360, I have chosen to stick with the PC. For reasons obvious of course.

lol yeah. That truck game doesn't excite me at all. I got excited when I saw that function of the controller though because I can imagine what it will be like with a good racing game (Burnout, Mario Kart, GT-style game, etc.)

how were the controls ? was the ai any good ?

oh wait, YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED IT and have only seen a 2min or so TRAILER.

seriously.

i don't care for the ps3, after just downloading [and still am] a ton of e3 movies and playing lost planet [awesome!] it just has nothing for me (except ff xiii) & has 'ripped off' everyone else, lamers.

The Nintendo truck game... Just looked like it'd be boring... though they said the terrain deforms in real-time. They should have just showed off/created F-Zero instead of the crappy truck game.

Halo 3. Halo 2 bore the hell out of me... seriously. If Halo 3 is more like Halo 1 than two then i may buy it.

PS3 controller. About 3 games will use the tilt functions. It'd really only work well with puzzle and flight games. They should have kept the rumble features instead...

I don't care for PS3 and Xbox360.

I used to consider myself a hardcore gamer with regards to the time I spent gaming. Now I don't go near video games except the DS from time to time, maybe an hour a week.

The reason I liked games like Goldeneye, Perfect Dark(N64), etc. was because FPS games were still new and still fresh back then. 3D gaming was still pretty much in it's infancy. FPS games are a dime a dozen these days. The novelty has completely worn out with me, years ago in fact. A game like HL2, while impressive tech-wise, bored me to tears. Try as they might, it was just another FPS to me.

This brings me to the reason why PS3 and 360 mean absolutely nothing to me. They are doing the same old things the same old ways. This time with prettier graphics that I never care about while I'm playing anyways. Perfect Dark Zero is the perfect example. Sure it looks nice, but did you get the same feeling playing it as you did with the N64 version? I sure didn't, not even close.

I'm to the point where I don't want the same old thing but better looking. I want something new and if that means it doesn't look as good, I couldn't care less. The DS and the Wii are the only gaming platforms out there with a fresh direction and in my opinion a very strong strategy.

I don't care for Xbox 360 or Halo3.

But the PS3 will Kick anus.

Pretty much everything for PS3 so far...
Halo 3
Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam

well sony has ripped off nintendo in a horrible fashion, but im laughing at all the people saying that they ripped of xbox for the live section, where alot of those people were complaining beforehand that they were not going to even concider a ps3 because the lack of a live system

How did Sony rip off Nintendo?

PS3 only intrests me as far as MGS4 and Killzone 2. (I know, the video was rendered or whatever its called, but it looks appealing none the less.) Other than that, I have no intrest in it, like every Playstation console.

Funnily enough, I've only ever been intrested in Playstation because of MGS.

I believe that up until a few weeks ago Sony had no plans for the PS3 controller to have motion sensing capabilities. Coincidence?

All of them really. I might buy a revolution though. Dont see the point the 360 and ps3 if you already have a pc.

Grand Theft Auto 5 coming out on it first, though? That is a bit of a head-scratcher.
WHAT??? GTA 5??? Oh wait, you must mean 4...:p And its not coming out for the 360 first--its coming out for that and the PS3 at the same time, so no reason to choose one or the other. "Exclusive downloadable content" is something that doesn't interest me in the least either, so that's no selling point for me.

Yeah, these both look amazing. The PS3 will eventually end up having my favorite games in terms of anything by Level 5 and Sony Santa Monica and much more, but to me, the PS2 is still looking amazing with titles like Rogue Galaxy, Okami, and God of War 2 (which looks more next-gen than some of the so-called "next-gen" titles that were at E3), not to mention the other previous greats like Dragon Quest 8, Shadow of the Colossus, Ico, Katamari Damacy, the first God of War, Contra: Shattered Soldier, and many many others.

the downloadable content for GTA 4 will most likely be mostly cosmetic: new clothes, cars, areas etc

meh I'll just wait till the pc version comes out

I'm not really that excited about any of the consoles ...sure ps3 and xbox games have great graphics but I cant think of a single game that would make me go out and buy them ...the original xbox was a huge letdown for me ..maybe half a dozen games were what I would consider good ..the rest were mostly dumbed down pc games ....so I'm a little weary of this generation

the Wii probably does the most for me ..however I've never been a fan of nintendo games (sure lots were fun ..but some are just too cutsey for me) ..that said I may get a console down the road a bit when they're half the price they are now. The quality of games will be the deciding factor for me ..and nothing else

I am interested in the PSIII .... but the price has put me off. 600 euro's wtf?!!
The Wii seems to be very cool .... but like Stern I am not really into cute factor of most Nintendo games.
Gears of War / UT2007 may have great graphics .... but it will probably come down to the same old over the top gameplay. Not my stylee.

Rather than tallying up the huge ammount of next-gen stuff I couldn't give two shits about, here is a list of the stuff I would want, but will ultimately go without because I can't justify buying any of the upcoming consoles just for them.

Metal Gear Solid 4 and err... Gears of War... Maybe. That's pretty much it. Perhaps add Halo 3, but I've not even played 2 yet so I can't say that for sure. My one hope is that those games will get PC releases. I think that these titles have a better chance than most at least.

Actually, the handheld consoles got me interested a bit actually. I'd consider getting a DS in particular. Yoshi's Island 2, New Super Mario Bros and Final Fantasy 3...

Grand Theft Auto 6, I meant. I don't see why people are calling it Grand Theft Auto 4. It's the sixth damn game in the series.
+1

That's some odd logic you've got there. For starters its more like the 8th game if you consider GTA London and Liberty City Stories, and then there's the simple commerical sense. It's not called "Grand Theft Auto 6" because everyone would start asking "The hell? Where the hell are 4 and 5?!".

Because Liberty, Vice and San Andreas are mirrored in cities in the first game, there is another reason for considering GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas to be a single unit, 3 titles that make on big game. In many ways, VC and SA are simply expansion packs. Half-Life 2 isn't called Half-Life 4 (or perhaps 5 even). Why would the go around numbering every release they make? Numbers are peculiarly reserved for leaps in story or technology.

The Wii seems to be very cool .... but like Stern I am not really into cute factor of most Nintendo games.
Is Red Steal kitty to you?
Now that nintendo is attracting more 3rd party developers...you shouldn't be so worried about that "cute" stuf.

I'm not really interested in 360 at all.
I'll probably get PS3 and Wii at some point.

So if we put lots of blood and gore into a Barbie game you'd like it?
o_O
