Next-gen Madden premiering Saturday

Yeah that is rather disapointing. If the graphics actually looked like that then I'd be excited but they most likely won't. It looks to good to be true. According to the developers the game is going to look better then those screenshots. I won't believe it until I see it.

Aight draft has been on for 25 mins about. Channel 30 for me (ESPN), I haven't seen anything yet, but I missed the first 10-15 mins. I doubt it was that early though.

HAHA. Funny you say that Iced_Eagle. It was in the first 10 minutes of the Draft. Sorry to say this, but you missed it. You will have to wait till someone uploads it online.

Anyway, it was pretty cool/crummy. I mean of course it looked great but that is more than likely a renderer's interpretation.

EDIT - Just watched it. Graphics are unbelievable. This is great news for XBOX 2. Unless they're being gay and showing us a render.

Pros: I like how they tried something new with the interface and presentation...
Cons: Madden sucks ass. Animations are horrible.

The only thing I can take out of this is that XBOX (and next-gen) is going to blow our minds. And I wish we still had VC and ESPN NFL. ;(

WHAT?? is espn nfl not around anymore i just bought last seasons game for ps2, since when is it not around anymore they should make one for next gen as well at least I would think.

Wow dude, you're way behind the times.
EA bought/signed an exlusive licensing contract with the NFL and NFLPA, and then bought/signed the ESPN license. This means that no other game can use real NFL stadiums, team names, player names, etc. and Visual Concepts no longer can use the ESPN license.

EA raped the football gaming community, and it's gonna be that way for the next 10 years. They also did the same with the NCAA and AFL. KUSH (who made ESPN MLB 2K5) was able to lock up the MLB...

Anyway, yeah, this is old news and something gamers have been pissed about for months now, and year to come. ESPN NFL 2K5 was the greatest sports game of all time.

Just FYI.

I just read that these are NOT NOT NOT NOT in-game (wanted to emphasize that lol ).

Basically, what EA did was that they wanted a video before the game was made, to give expectations on what the graphical power will be of the next game. So they hired a CG Artist to make the film you were shown.

However, after the video was finished (which probably took months), Turbine (the guys who are making the game), did not want this footage shown due to the fact they knew more about the console. You are probably thinking they set the bar too high in the CG and the game won't look as good, right? Wrong! They set the bar too low in the video!! The game will look even better in the final version! Wow, that's awesome

So the video was merely an artist's interpretation, the game will _amazingly_ be much better.

But then TBH, this movie won't make me any more excited, since it's just CG. I want some in-game shots dammit

We will see at E3 hopefully.

I was totally shocked by this. All the big news sites said this would be inside the game... I guess it wasn't after all.

Yea, the reason M$ named it that is that

A) The Nintendo console is code-named revolution, and what is 360 degrees? One revolution.

B) They wanted to go with Playstation's numbering scheme, but if they would have just named it the Xbox 2, they felt that people would think it would be inferior to the Playstation 3.


I still think Xenon should have been the name It's original!
