Noah's Ark Found?

God is not all that he seems...

That wierd rock could be Noah's Ark - but not one to hold 2 by 2 - more a man that new the flood was coming and saved his family...

lol, double_blade, you amuse me. First off, in bible terms the ark would have been 3-4 thousand years old, not 2 thousand. And yes, if a ship were to crash 4 thousand years ago, it would turn into petrified rock. However, that would only happen if the wood was buried deep underground and it fossilized. It could have been that if that had been a ship, and it had crashed on a glaciated plane, the glacier could have pushed it to the surface like that.

But the story of the ark, as the bible says it, is completley rediculous.

Let's look at the biomass of everything on the earth, every animal...
Discounting singe-celled organisms, which make up about 33% of all species, there are about 930,000 species of animals. Now, multiplied by two, that is 1 million, 860 thousand animals.

The ark was 300x30x50 cubits. A cubit is about 1.5 feet. So, at 450 feet long, 45 feet wide and 75 feet high the ark would have had a total volume of 1,518,750 cubic feet.

So, to fit every animal onto the ark, you would need to squish each one into a space of less than 0.81 cubic feet. Sadly, I don't think anything larger than a rabbit could fit in such a small space, let alone all of the space that would have been required for hallways, living quarters, and the vast stores of food neccessary to feed all of the animals.

The flood story is a myth propogating from babylonian and persian legend, it was about the flooding of the black sea, and how they tried to deal with the great catastrophe.

Also, there were no nations at the time? You have got to be kidding me! Harrapan indian civilization, yellow river civilization, babylonians, egyptians, and mayans would have all had their own language and culture at that time, not to mention the millions of nomadic tribesmen spread throughout the earth. Thinking that there was only one culture until the "tower of babylon" is just downright stupid.

That's what acutally the Bible says, no civilisations on that time, it's a mystery in the Bible. I amused you? Good job, baby, I can use some entertainment on you anyway. Whether you agree with me or not, I don't care.

Everyone has their own beliefs and critics, by forcing your views on people is a childish thing to do and it's like a 5 year old person doing it.

He isn't forcing ANYTHING on you.

He's just presenting his logical arguments. Mainly, you can't believe everything you read.

I don't see how he's trying to superimpose his beliefs on you.

Somebody quote this pls, he's still got me on block ;(

I miss having logical debates with you Double_Blade.

Lol, lol, and god created the heavens and the earth, and because he was all powerful he created fossils and faked carbon dating and junk to mess with people's minds.

Exactly.

Double_Blade, I believe my signature puts it perfectly.

The Bible is so abstract that when you bring up common sense they give you some bullshit reason called faith.

Maybe we should all just believe these Christians, mold into their organization and agree with them on every point they make... then when the Pope starts wondering what the hell they were thinking all along, we'll just laugh and tell em we told em so.

In fairness, I don't believe it is supposed to be taken seriously. To the people of the time, two of every animal wouldn't mean every species on earth.

I'm of firm belief that the bible is by and large a set of stories that help to set out moral guidelines by which to live by.

Yeah but it's not fun if you think of it that way.

I love the Bible because it teaches us how to be a good person and treat others as you want others to treat you and also teaches morals.

Im not saying that the Ark is truly real, but my opinions is that the Ark becomes black could be rusted for 2000 years ago. After 2000 years, the Bible stories end at Revelations and till now, the mysteries of the Bible haven't been solved yet.

My view of the bible is it's based on the real world events but mistakingly overblowing proportions. I don't believe in any of the 'splitting the red sea' or 'turning water into wine' and I would never take the Bible in literal facebook value.

Essentially I believe the Noah's Ark story is complete nonsense, maybe a major flood did happen on say the Egyptian Nile (their known world then?) but none of this 'save two of each species and put them on a giant boat while god flooded the earth' crap.

Well, I think the Bible is, as you say, a story book that shows people what sort of mistakes not to make in thier lives, and to generally be a good person.

But it ends there. The old testament accounts can be in some ways taken litterally, but the bible is nothing more than, as culture puts it, a good book.

Meh, if somebody thinks he should see this, feel free to quote it :/

Well, to each of it's own I guess... I am a christian and I believe that Noah's Ark is real. Just because it turns black doesn't mean that it is a piece of junk, it's not, it's a ruined Ark for 2000 years ago.

.........

What has happened to this world? The end must be coming.

Fixed. Try reading Genesis, Deutoronomy, Numbers, Judges, etc. There's a lot of nasty stuff in the bible.

I particularly remember some judge convincing a rival tribe to convert to Judaism, so that they could make peace, then, when they couldn't fight because they had just circumcised themselves, the Hebrews slaughtered them.

Jesus, however, had much to teach, divine or not.

I find it crazy that almost every civilization has some story like noah's ark.

An aircraft carrier wouldn't be big enough to carry two breeding pairs of each insect by far, let alone other creatures.

Almost as laughable as lord xenu and the galactic confederacy.

You should watch South Park Starvin Marvin Episode...... because I agree forcing your views on people is a childish thing to do. Because you know the Church never tries to force God on anybody......
