Oblivion: Knights of the White Stallion expansion?

Hopefully they release the expansion for 360 players too. :thumbs:
 
"On August 17th, ZeniMax Media Inc. applied for registration on the trademarks "Shivering Isles" and "Knights of the Nine". Bethesda Softworks has neither confirmed nor denied that they are developing expansion packs for Oblivion, so it could be possible that they are developing expansion packs by these names. Alternatively, these could be the names of two unrelated projects."

From a thread on the official TES forums. As the paragraph suggests, this really doesn't mean there will be EPs, they could be separate projects. Although I find that unlikely. And also Oblivion was a tremendous success sales wise, they would be fools not to make an expansion.
 
Lol, when I saw the title, I immediantly though: "Oblivion: Knights of the Old Republic".
 
I thought KOTOR first too.

This sounds great though. I hate microtransactions, but I love expansions, so I am really pumped if true!!

I hope so, although it wont be as nearly polished as oblivion ..plus I fear german to english translations

Something must've gone seriously wrong/right (depending on your viewpoint) with you if that is what came into your mind first...

Oh, and one of the 4 minute German vids of desert town exploration looked boring as all heck, so I am going to wait to see what everyone thinks of Gothic 3 before investing too much $$.
 
ok to be honest my first reaction was that it sounded like Nights in White Satin by the moody blues but since you young whipper snappers probably dont know who they are it was a moot point

And to be fair, this was my first thought after reading the whole title of the thread instead of just the first two words.
 
Well, another theory sprouting from the TES forums is that they might be cell phone games.
 
Despite yesterday's news that an Oblivion expansion may be coming in November, Bethesday Softworks has denied the rumors saying the following: "There's no expansion in development called Knights of the White Stallion. That's the name of a quest in Oblivion. Right now we have not announced plans for any new content, add-ons, or expansions. If that changes, we'll let folks know."

Oh well. Probably just called something else. They simply MUST be working on Oblivion expansions, along with the ton of other good stuff that's brewing down there....
 
well that kinda sucks ..but meh ..Gothic3 and Never Winter Nights 2 is coming out soon /me rubs hands in anticipation

Indeed. NWN2 looks to be extremely sweet and if the modding community is half as active with this one, it should be an incredible experience over the next few years!
 
people who pre-order get the toolset before release ..so mods should be coming out fairly quickly
 
he said there's "There’s no expansion in development called Knights of the White Stallion" ..it doesnt mean there wont be any expansions ..in fact they hinted they were working on one shortly before the microtransactions began

You don't know that. In the interview located on the TES site, they said they were "thinking of developing an expansion" for OB. Besides, OB sold incredibly well, they would be fools not to capitalize on the situaiton.
 
i'll pass, the modding community will provide plenty of FREE content to me if I desire to expand on an already rather drab experience (as of late). The game has great initial pull but beyond that.. meh. As soon as they decided to charge the community for an addon that simply gave horses the appearence of being armored (no gameplay effects) turned me off majorly.
 
I hope instead of just adding more content in improves on the general gameplay....

The mods do that pretty nicely now, but yes, something official would be cool too.

I do think this faction looks very fun though. Another 12 hours of questing in new loactions and such? New shrines hidden in the countryside? Count me in!
