I've seen many, many, many bands in random clubs and bars and shit that were a hundred times better then any signed bands.

I'm not saying every struggling band is good, but they put in more work than this douche.

I'm not saying it's not a talent (however stupid a talent it may be), I'm talking about the fact that he gets TV time, awards, and publicity for a game. A ****ing game. Meanwhile real musicians are out there doing what he's pretending to do and they get jack shit.

I know tons of bands (and band members) who'd kill to get a 2 minute spot on TV, and all that press. Who, by the way, are way more entertaining than that.
 
I think people make the bad assumption that all talent is good.

Good talent is remembered. This kid will be a flash in the pan.

There are hundreds if not thousands of awesome musicians and bands out there that never make it big financially. I've seen a lot of small independant bands that are far more talented than the major pop stars.

I personally think it's extremely derogatory and offending to those who wield immense talent like this guy in question. The writers of South Park are just jealous at people who are incredibly skilled at productive video games like Guitar Hero.

You might be good at Guitar Hero, but if you could do what this guy does then YOU would have the endorsement and people would be in this thread talking about how YOU don't deserve to be sponsored.

You can be as awesome at Guitar Hero as you want to believe, but the point is that you're not this guy and he's getting money for being a great GH player. People on this forum might be awesome at FPS games but they aren't Fatal1ty. I might be an awesome fighting game player but I've yet to place in Evo (even though I've got a shot coming up on Feb. 21).

So either stuff it or put your money where your mouth is because nobody on this forum--NOBODY--would willingly turn down money for playing the vidya. And you damn well know it.

Also, I'm not about to say I find watching someone play Guitar Hero enthralling or anything, but entertainment is subjective. See: 95% of popular musicians on TV/radio.

Because those video game episodes totally weren't made in good fun and/or endorsed by the publishers and/or a huge, shameless advertisement. ;)

You know, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the people complaining about real musicians missing out were the same people you find endlessly trolling Guitar Hero threads with "but it's not real music!"
