Opposing Force

Hello everyone! I have checked the forum subheadings and this seems to be the area for me to post this, I was wondering, I beat half life 1 and half life 2, they were extremely good but then again, so was Opposing Force where you played as one of the recon soldiers named Adrian Shepard.

Does anyone know if there will be a second opposing force, officially? made by the same company or not? and im not talking like some 5 level mod that was just made by some random joe. If anyone can answer my question please and thank you, feedback is nice to get sometimes.

Does anyone else agree that game was really good, like I for one liked having teamates on my team and plus the guys always looked cool at the time when half life 1 first came out.

Also, is there going to be a half life 3? or is it just a bunch more of those episodes. . .
 
there is no word of an opposing force for half life 2. also it was created by modders not valve. it was purchased later by valve the same with counter strike 1.6.

half life 3 asfaik is the episodes.
 
No idea about any sequel to OP4. Probably never gonna happened.
 
Yes so far no word on any opposing force 2 but people are saying that maybe episode 4 will be something about Adrian but I guess you will have to wait until episode 3 is finally done to get confirmation on that.
 
Opposing Force was NOT created by modders. It was one of Gearboxes first games. Neither has it ever been a mod.

Gearbox will not make a sequel. There will probably never be a sequel in the sense that we think of it, but Gabe is interested in bringing him back. Episode four?
 
steam bought it from gearbox? if not it will be free right..

I don't care about Adrian one way or the other, but if I had to lay odds on what will happen, I's say that Valve will bring him back as a player character in a future game whose chronology either overlaps with or branches off from the main storyline. I don't think he and Gordon will ever meet; that would just be distracting.
 
And how does it logically follow that it'd be free?
 
It's easy:
Everything Half-Life is excellent (they weren't announced the best games of all time for nothing you know).

Half-Life 3=Episodes1, 2, 3...4?

OP4 was not made by modders, and no word of OP42.

And Adrian should appear again.
 
right on my brothers and sisters, Adrian Shepard aka Cpl.Shepard, should be brought back, hell you know, i think they should hold off episode 3 and 4 and just make OP4 2 first then go bak to the episodes, dont get me wrong Gordan kicks ass its just, im kinda tired of being him and I've always loved being a Recon soldier so yeah, its kinda my thing.

I also think *cough* Cpl. Shepard should get a promotion. . . lol maybe to Lt. Shepard, thats cool. Lieutenants are awesome anyway... Does anyone know if sooner or later Valve is going to let Gordan/Adrian ever drive a combine ship or those old helis from HL1(hell I dunno why not just update the look of it and bam u got a kick ass looking ship just like it was when Hl1 was first released), like come on, lets see some Grand Theft Auto, who wouldn't want to see Gordan take a combine dropship or fighter and just destroy some aliens or combine? OR even the Combine Tank!. Use your imagination, my reasons to use those vehicles on may not be amazing but you get the idea.

Also, just wondering, are they ever going to bring back the Black Ops? or we're they destroyed or scraped after Op4 since Op4 came after HL1. Err dam I got a bit to talk about lol. . . And how about a baby voltigore *sniff* I luv those little thingies, wait. . . were voltigores apart of HL or was that from the mod Sven Coop.. anywhu I got a great idea if they were to bring Adrian back. Adrian comes out of a crsys tube or w/e u call it sorry for my bad spelling/grammer. realesed out of statsis from Gman and hes got all his weapons and his old armor back or maybeh a little bit upgraded who knows and he takes one of those combine tanks Gman had put out for him, he drives into the Combine Citadel and oh sorry I left this part out, takes a large resistance force with him to help out Gordan... err yeah sorry left that part out, very sketchy... anywhu, what do u guys think? Anything is possible.
 
Leave out the cryo-tubes and the tanks and everything should be fine.

And Gordon already has more Rebels glued to him that he can handle.
 
Why not leib10? If he WAS put into stasis he has to reappear. Gman does't look like the sorta' guy, who just collects people, who survive bizarre things and puts them into stasis for no reason.

No. The G-man's... "employers" didn't see a need for Shepard, G-man just put him in stasis because he respected him, and because the alternative was killing him. And then there's the question of the validity of OpFor but that debate gives me migraines nowadays.
 
what do you mean by validity? What do people think is not valid about OF?

Well don't expect Shepard to return in the coming episodes but he will have to be seen somewhere in the upcoming expansions to the half life universe not that I really want him back but Gabe himself likes the character and said that they will eventually get back to him so who knows.

Ahhhhhhh! Everyone don't ever speak of Race-X again or feel the wrath of Darkside!
I think that some people are still very interested to find out the story behind Race-X and think that Race-X is cool maybe even more cool then Xen.

Hey wait a minute! Chill Darkside who said that I think Race-X is more cool than Xen I meant that some people think that I certainly don't so please Darkside don't use your dark powers on me.
 
I'm pretty sure most of the black ops were wiped out in HL1, Op4, BS, and the rest by the nuke. They were sent by the Govt., which was taken over by combine later, SO they wouldn't be sending th Black Ops out anymore :P

As for the return of Shepherd that would be awesome, if we has your companion in Ep2 or 3 and you could switch between playing him or Gordon.

Hear this, and mark it well. Any among you who feel this way should just forget about Race-X. Do not become intrigued by them. Do not try to learn more about them. You are not prepared, and you will never be prepared, for the information your inquiries yield.

I have spent far too long trying to break down Race-X into canonical context. For far too many years have I studied them, learning their secrets. You do not want to know about them. They are a poison on the mind, and as long as you delve into Race-X's affairs the murky, gel-coated eyes of the shock troopers will be upon you.

And mine eyes, as well.

I say this to spare you fools out there! Do not look for Race-X! I will stop anyone who gets too close to finding out their true origins.

and yeah, race X kicks ass. :D

They probably went extinct though, because it seems they were more of a warier race than a wild race like the Xen Fauna. I think that the whole of their race would have been in black mesa when it... Ya know... *boom* :|
