Pope John Paul II dead

This is still uncofirmed but I pray it is not the case. I had a lot of respect for this pope even if I didn't agree with him on some issues.

Where's your source? All i get on that site is nothing about the pope :/

What so bad about it, he's going to heaven. I hear thats a better place than earth.

It is breaking news on CNN but it is still greatly unconfirmed, they are actually denying it now. I hope he is still ok.

r.i.p.

but he was only a man..

i bet there are hundreds of old men dying right now.

what has the pope done that was so spectacular?

can't CNN actually make sure before declaring at as Breaking News?

That would be funny if he jumped out of the bed and yell april fools and laughed.

What if he was poisoned or somethin? :O

Then that would be murder.
Yes thanks zer...I did not know that. /sarcasm

J/k!Please don't ban me! ;(

Well I dun really care. Just another guy dying in my eyes.

Sad to see a death, but it happens to everyone, especially old people.

According to sky he is 'noticably compromised' but his heart and brain still works o_O

Well if he does die he ain't got nothin to worry about.

If there is no afterlife...so what...if there is he might end up at a nice place.

Im certain he isn't dead. They wouldn't lie to millions of catholics around the world and say he is alive

Read the book Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, the pope dies in that book.

I see no point to covering it up.

The Robo-Pope John Paul II isn't finished it's final testing phase yet and they need more time before they can announce the Pope's "miraculous recovery" and then the clergy can rule from behind the scenes for all eternity through the now Immortal and therefore even more authoritative "God's representative on Earth"?

What? It's a theory...

last week I was listening to radio program that interviewed a catholic priest who foretold the coming armaggeddon that would begin with the death of the pope: according to him he is murdered by a rival faction within the vatican unhappy with the direction of the papacy ..he said that if the pope is in a closed casket it's because he was stabbed multiple times ...oh and it gets worse ...according to the priest he said that the death of the pope will eventually (within 4 yrs) lead to a full out invasion of the US by china and Russia triggering ww3 ...ya, I know, it sounds far fetched and more than a little crazy

Its good enough, me got myself a new conspiracy :p

There are a lot of these crazy people out there. I am happy to report that there are still a number of sane Catholics around though :).

A time of turmoil shall rise.
It's sad if he is, but he's not the first pope to die, he wont be the last, your a pope until you die. It's only a really big deal to people cause its unlikely many were around when the last one died and John Paul II became the pope.

No they wouldn't! I don't know why everyone is seeing the catholic church as a religous version of the mafia nowerdays but they are not. Fox news just jumped the gun, the latest vatican statement is that the pope has low blood pressure and is experiancing heart and kidney faliure, he has an absolute maximum of two days to live, though death could come at any time.

And last time I checked Dan Brown wrote fiction.

And someone aked what the pope had done that was so special, well lot's of things really, he survived an assasination attempt at the start of his papacy so he deserves some respect for that. He also courageously helped to free E.Europe from communisum he was alive to resist both the NAZIs and the communists in poland, he also traveled far more than any other pope and has connected with poorer catholics and those in the furthur reaches of the world including the poorer countries more than many other popes have. He was also a factor in bringing peace to N.Ireland. He was also a big advocate of cross denominational unity, and even reached out to those in the islamic and jewish faiths. He was also a great communicator and was able to touch countless thousands of catholic's livies.

He was, however, a fairly conservative pope, contraversialy sticking to catholic teaching about contaception despite the AIDS empedemic. He also wrote many books, which I think are excellent.

That sounds a bit strange to me. What has he done in particularly (except for Poland, his homeland) and was so courageously in that?

Welll he began his carrear in the catholic church in communist poland, a VERY dangerous thing to do, at a time when many priests who dared to speak out against the goverment were beaten up or killed. When he was made pope he became a lot more critical of the goverment and was a rallying point for poles alongside solidarity, and this greatly contributed to the soviets finally loosing control in 1989.

And it was a domino affect in E.Europe a pope from behind the iron curtain gave hope to everyone that was oppressed by the communists.

Must you try and shovel sh*t on the catholic church right now? That happaned well before john paul's time anyway, and he is the subject of the thread.

I accept that there may be some truth to that story but this is nither the time nor place to bring it up.

relax buddy, I posted about a conspiracy on page 2, I was just keeping it going ....jeez some of you are soooo sensitive around religion ...btw I was born catholic
