I believe gabe does things in terms of spreading the love. For a while this site was his info site. than he did some stuff at the site that shall not be named. Than he went to hl2fallout. It's called giving the community as a whole some love. Spreading it around and whatnot.

That doesn't make sense. The preload isn't going to "end". It is just transferring some files to prepare for release.

There could be future preloads, but that would be different.

They really have to be getting close to this thing going gold. I think they've just been waiting to preload it until they're ready to make a gold announcement within a week. I mean, why start preloading it if it isn't close to gold?
