I dont like being the negative one... BUT I HATE BEING RIGHT.DarkStar said:You're probably more right than you know.....

actually no, you cant measure a delay anymore... its almost been a year, and who says its going to stop there?kern802 said:C'mon guys, at least the delays are now measured in days instead of months!

Mr. Redundant said:wow Valve really have no credibility when it comes to any dates.. I wonder what they think of themselves :/ besides the pockets overflowing with cash.
meh, it may just be a preload.. but thats why its such a big deal, if they cant ****ing get their act together on something so miniscule and unimportant, how the **** are they going to... bah
I seriously doubt we will be seeing the game before september.. hell I doubt we will see the game before december at this point.
Personally I am not upset the least.. its not as if it is being delayed because it isn't finished. I just find it funny they missed another date.Lobster said:christ its just a preload, get over it :O

So am i. And i thought i was numb to this thing now. This actually is a huge let down for some reason.Eon Blue said:How depressing. I mean, honestly, I am kind of let down.
DarkStar said:This is actually a very good point. At least Johnson wasn't like "Uhhh...sorry gotta delay the preload to December! kthnxbye."
That would have been bad.
kern802 said:What? Instead of Thursday it's Monday. That's totally different than the "Holiday Season" versus "Summer".
Exactly. If you know you can't hold a date, then don't set a public date. This is why I'm not too concerned as to the lack of a real release date right now. But in the end, this is just hugely irresponsible on Valve's part. It's a letdown to the fans and is completely unprofessional, especially because it's for something fairly minor. I can forgive a couple of minor slip-ups, but this seems to be happening every time Valve says anything.hunteraz said:How else can you explain their actions over the past few days?
1) Gabe says it preloads on 8/17
2) Gabe says no, we decided not to do it on 8/17, we'll do it 8/19
3) Now they said 8/23
If you told your teach in school you'd turn in an assignment on 8/17 but ended up not doing so until 8/23, or a boss at work with a project -- is that not irresponsible?
I wasn't doubting the competency of them as a company, I know they hope for release dates and work hard, I was just saying, it was an irresponsible decision they made and reflected that.

Way to go Valve, your credibility has dropped yet again. *claps*

Kiva128 said:Well boo hoo guys. Now you have to wait a whole 4 days! It's not the end of the world you know. Hl2 will come out SOMETIME so everyone should just shut the hell up.
Do you work at valve? No? Then you guys don't know what kind of shit they have to go through. Just let them do their jobs. Yes, they suck with dates, but get over it.
/end rant

I must really check my shed.
Mr. Redundant said:yes but it isnt Monday yet is it?.. on Monday it might be something like "lols lols, we meant Monday of March 2005" (just kidding)
delaying something more frequently in smaller increments is no more impressive to me.
why this is such a let-down is because it looks like Valve really dont have their shit together, and a summer release is pretty much out of the question.
It wasn't ready, it was all marketing strategies...Beast206 said:Only thing I don't get is Gabes statement the other day of the pre-load being ready for release, but they decided to push out the VST first. What happened since then that caused a delay. I mean if it was ready it was ready. Dunno, weirdness.
