and he just registered like you and probably hasn't put up with all the delays that the regulars have. so what?

this is valve the game doens't have to be out anytime

Its 10 at valve now.

Same here, I live in California. I'll reserve judgement on Valve for this particular date when it's 12:00am.

1 am here at nyc. Im listening to music hoping to see some news. (Kittie - Brackish)

I really don't know what you guys are all dissipointed about. It's not like you were gonna play some HL2 tonight or something... even if it did preload tonight, it'd be weeks before you actually got to play. It's not even necessarily an indicator of a release delay. Honestly, the game will be out soon regardless of whether we get some encoded art and sound files tonight or not. Big whoop-dee-doooo.

Just a note, the status page for steam has changed. 15000 is the new limit for the bandwidth usage scale.

If that happened it woulb clearly be becaue Valve was messing with us. And that would be just plain fun :D

I have never played half life 1 but VALVe is leaving a bad impression on me as an interested gamer.

You can get this forum to read PST. That is what I have because I'm a cool so cal kid.

UGH

Page 18! YAY! I wonder if the Valve guys are sitting back laughing at all of us. or if they are all at home asleep.. hrmm..

Seriously Doug wake up and do you're job!

Don't let Gabe spew dates out, That's the PR guys job.

sorry if i am wrong..

but did they say THIS monday?

We're going to push the start of the preload back until this coming Monday. The main reason was to get out the release (that just happened) to the CS: Source Beta.

We pay their bills and put food on their tables....

Actually I think you'll find Gabe does both those things from his own pocket. He's a rich man.

Rich with the money we gave him.

Wow. I'm surprised that I'm surprised by this. I can't believe it.

i dont get it... it says you, sHmOzY posted at 10:03 pm when its only 10:01 on the dot hrer

The funny thing is most of you will buy it in stores.
So who cares the preload hasn't started :{

I feel most sorry for Troika. Vampire: Bloodlines has has been finished for ages and they can't release it due to Valve not releasing HL2.

The engine is obviously complete enough for another company to mod and build a new game upon.

I hope Troika takes legal action, Valve is basically bullsh!t.

The preload is officially delayed to next week, 30th august 2004. This sucks, because I intended to preload it this week and paid $30 to be able to download it, since I have a download limit cap of 3Gb per period. The period ends on 28th august for me, so I don't really have a good use for my already invested money.

Bummer :(

oooo..... i know it already stings, but... sucker.

It's in dutch but you can surely read the quote: http://cs.counter-strike.nl/ShowNews.php?id=1183.

On second thought, this message looks quite like the one I saw before - maybe they are confusing things. I think the monday referred to in the quote is yesterday. On the official steam forums I read something about preload early today, but I'm not holding my breath anymore because of all the vague news.

So maybe I'll be able to preload this month after all. Let's hope.
