PreLoad Delayed

Indeed, I edited my post. One thing that bothers me though is the fact that VALVe don't post a news item on their own Steam forum or something. That would be a valuable source of information.

Well, best bet is to simply blame the CS:S update they released last night in place of the preload. Same thing as last time really.
 
Ok, If you read carefully at the GamersHell News, they said the pre-load should at 7:00PST... I thought it was 7:00PM Yesterday (Monday), Like everyone else) But if you look at the time they posted the news it's 8:00PM on Monday, 23rd.

If GamersHell is right. The pre-load should start in 45mins...

There is another dent in the Steam player graph and some spikes in the available bandwidth. Maybe something is going to happen.

Edit: the dent in the player graph suddenly disappeared... Or maybe I'm just going slightly mad.

By the way, can anyone explain to me why the player and server count sometimes fall down steeply in the Steam status graph? Is that a moment when an updated is pushed to clients or something?
 
Well ill say this, that patch last night did fix some things that were really getting on my nerves, so ill let it go for today, but i hope we get happier news tonight, or at least some sort of statement.
 
I wake up tuesday and officially get NADDA. All monday didn't they know they wouldn't make the pre-load work?

Infuriating.

meh...i just hope that we'll get a GOLD announcement soon. Whether there's a preload or not.

Friday - Valve said they were going to pre-load on monday(yesterday) because of a CS:S beta update they release friday. On monday (yesterday) they did the same thing and released a CS:S update instead of the hl2 pre-load.... so to summarize: VALVE screwed us AGAIN!
 
Bah some of you are getting way to into it. I did and then just realised its a freaking game and it's gonna be out this year so just chill.

This is not just a game. It costs millions to create and produce and just the slightest delay might cause someone to lose money... This is a business... SO DONT TELL ME ITS JUST A F***ING GAME! :flame:

You won't be able to play the game for a month, if it preloads, or if it doesn't..

its not about the preload, its about valve promising things they cant deliver, for 3 times in a week now... i believe thats officially a record now

They screwed us eh? You want to explain, cause I really want to hear this, because VALVe doesn't need to pre-load a few files, you need to get your panties out of a twist and the the -f up. VALVe can't screw us over at all, especially when they pay for bandwidth on content servers and we don't.

Seriously dude look what they put out a week ago, CS:S, I think you can survive a few days without 1 or 2 hl2 files. I am sick of people like you exoeight. Just random people that demand things and say "oh its the principle" Cause its ****ING not! Go outside or go do something else cause you are a worm. I think VALVe should just remove your steam account for being a jackass.

This whole HL2 FIASCO is about respect, honesty, and dissapointment. Valve doesn't seem to respect that we have a brain in our skull and know what day it is. They don't give honest dates or are incapeable of giving a solid or even reasonable date for progress. And finally.

We are dissapointed that we keep getting let down when they pump up the hype balloon and pop it right after.

I think this is getting a little bit out of hand. I think you all might have to agree to disagree on this one. Arguing with each other isn't going to change your views of Valve, the pre-load delay, and it certainly isn't going to get you the pre-load any sooner (not that it matters anyway) so what can you do?

If the arguments get worse, the thread gets closed.

So they are SCREWING with us. They "appear" to be fooling around in a confused way.

How? Well they seem to be confused about dates in particular and or if something is "ready" or not.

Maybe you think he meant that they "screwed" us by: To take advantage of; cheat: screwed me out of the most lucrative sales territory.

Thinking maybe the "screwed" us out of having enjoyment in their fine product. Or screwed us into BELIEVEING them yet again.

There are many ways to "see" his screwed meaning. Unless of course you dont want to.

As for them "paying" for bandwidth..... hmmm That is a "package" deal. WE paid them (previously) so they could pay for that bandwidth.

I could get into a long drawn out discussion with you but niether would be right.

All I know is I will buy this game. Am I happy about the "scenerio" surrounding it? No. But as you tend to make me believe you dont care what I (or anyone else thinks) much like Valve, due to the fact they "owe" us nothing. Which they dont.
