Remember Quake II?
It was kick ass.
Good multi-player in my opinion but the single-player had me playing for days. I took me an incredibly long amount of time to beat it.
Good gameplay. I was id would make Doom III like Quake II with demons and zombies.
And the mission packs( expansion packs: The Reckoning and Ground Zero) were pretty good too.
I'm pissed Raven Software is working on Quake IV.

...****...

So, who misses Quake II?
Didn't it rock?

Quate II was awesome, I used to play the multiplayer about 4 hours a day. Good times... going down to the local lan, having a Quake II tournament. I feel old now.

You live in the Hood don't you Hudson, with all your getto computers.

If you still play Quake II... try QPong. That is probably my favorite mod of all time.

I miss it only for it's multiplayer. I hated the single player side of it. It was like a never ending. It had it's moments though, like when you fight the tank boss.

I didnt play much Quake II

but I love Quake 1

too bad I dont had it,is a classic

i loved quake II, i played CTF for a while then moved to AQ2, the best mod for quake II and in its own league. i played that for 2 years, pub and competive. i was KiNGPiN when i first started then join [MIT] so i made my name KP![MIT] . it was awesome. best memories of a game and gamers. urban(s), teamjungle(s), museum, so many fun maps. and u had to lead targets to compensate for lag. good times.

please post if u played AQ2 and share memories and clans u were in. i knew a few people back then.

The upcoming Quake 4 is a sequel to Quake 2.

I played Q2 coop, it was a bomb. I wish developers would start including coop in their games again.

Man Quake 2 was awesome. The mission packs sucked, imo. But Q2 the game was awesome. MP was even better than the single player though. The Edge map was great (though the Doom 3 remake is horrible).

I'm excited for Quake 4. I don't think ID software will let Raven screw up Q4 that bad.

Don't be worried, Raven is an accomplished developer.

Besides, more Strogg killing can't not be fun!

absouletly GREAT GAME that Quake II.

it had its moments, very actionish packed moments.

I played it but never really got into it..never liked any of the Quake games..

I didn't play it alot but damn it rocked back then. :D

All we do at school is LAN Quake II

The computers at my school could only handle Quake I so that's what we LANed.

Never played it back when, tried it late and got bored pretty quick. Still, I remember it's release pretty vividly, groundbreaking stuff. "Oh! The particle effects!!" :O

I was more a Hexen II man, myself. GO THE PALADIN!!

Edit - Wait, was Hexen II on Quake 1 or 2 engine?

Quake 2 was awesome multiplayer. Ah the memories of lithium DM :)

Quake 2, so whats a reload? :)

It was okay, had fun, but not as much as some other games I've played in my time.

Q2 was awesome... I remeber playing it like it was yesterday. My favorite part was Strogg experimenting on the Humans, which was really fun. One part that pissed me off was in the prison system: I opened a door that went into the prison and a marines blood just sprayed everywhere on my because a Strogg with the railgun killed him.

One part that I really remember was in the prison I tried to get the prisinors to fight with me and pcik up a gun... but they couldnt. :( I spent hours on that.

Quake 2 was alright, but I only really got into FPS games properly when Half Life came around, because it had more of a story and thats why I generally get games in the first place. Obviously, the multiplayer carries it on but often multiplayer is so much more exciting when its not just a deathmatch(Or whatever game type), its something else that sits on top of the singleplayer experience and the story that goes with it.

The best Music and Intro - ever.

i second that sentiment!
i had tons of fun playing co-op with friends... i don't understand why developers shy away from this mode... :(

i hope Quake4 has a co-op mode.. come on ID, please, do some justice to us old time gamers.. :dork:

The soundtrack was done by "Sonic Mayhem" but the theme was submitted by Rob Zombie (while he was still in "White Zombie").

I also liked the fact that you could just pop your Quake II disc into a CD player and listen to the soundtrack.

Ahh, old days, where gameplay was more important that graphics.

Quake 2: Dday.

Awesome mod, in some respects better than DOD

I useto have that game... but now the cd is screwd up..

that game jus rules, the expansions weren't all tht though

i was playing quake 3 just yesterday at my friends Doom 3 Lan
