Be Kind Rewind - 6/10

Movie bits were lol, rest was mostly meh, and a little bit aww.

Pitch Black - 7.5/10...
Suspenseful, awesome, gory.
But, it was fairly cheesy in a few spots.

Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury - 7/10...
Felt mindless and didn't really add that much to the mythos of the Riddick-verse, but the animation was great and it was entertaining.

Chronicles of Riddick - 8/10...
Awesome action movie, Vin Diesel is the new Arnie tbh.
The special effects were mindblowingly awesome and the storyline was pretty interesting.
Eagerly awaiting the sequels.

YES! Finally someone has the same opinion as me about the Riddick films. Get In!

Harold and Kumar go to White Castle- 7.5/10
first time I've seen if pretty much the whole way through. A lot of it was meh, but then there were absolutely hilarious parts in between.

Tank Girl- 5/10
oof. Yeah, bad. But still kind of entertaining. In a titties kind of way.

Barely.

LOTR Return of the King - 20/10. What can I say? My favourite of the films!
I also watched a feature on the extended DVD about a 16 year old film maker called Cameron Duncan who died of cancer. It had me in tears.

20/10 for Return of the King? 8/10 for Chronicles of Riddick?

You are insane. All of you. Batshit insane.

Chronicles is highly enjoyible but to be honest it's not an 8.
I think people are very generous with scores they give. 10 is supposed to be a perfect movie. Making a 9 or an 8 a very high score.

Return of the king is a 6, or a 6.5 at best, I mean come on, ghost army? Really?
I whould rate Riddick about the same.

I rate movies based on my enjoyment factor.
If it makes me fall asleep or bored it gets a low score.
Thus why all of these indie-movies or highly acclaimed 'classics' that everyone loves usually don't appeal to me at all.

And iirc, the undead army in RotK was in the books.

I am a HUGE LOTR fan so I would rate the films much higher than most people, and that's fine. I really don't mind if other people don't rate it highly. It's (obviously) just a matter of personal opinion.

No, no, no - that doesn't make sense. You think the people who love the indie-movies and the 'classics', as you put it, don't find them enjoyable? On the contrary; they're very enjoyable, and thus why your statement makes absolutely no sense at all.

That's not really what I was saying.
I was saying they aren't usually enjoyable to me at all, crap like 2001 or Sunshine... boring as hell to me.

But, I did enjoy No Country for Old Men... decent thriller, just not as OMFGICREAMEDMYSELF awesome as everyone makes it out to be.
Most Paramount Vintage/<insert indie company here> flicks are incredibly slow and not really for ADD movie goers such as myself.

For God's sake, Samon, let the man have his own opinion!! We're not living in A World According To Samon. God forbid that would ever happen!!!!

This is Samon you're talking about.
Opinions are a myth to him. :p

I've got to say I agree with Lucid on this (I also hated sunshine and 2001)

Code Geass R2 24 10/10

Seriously this is going down in anime history with the final episode next week coming.

The Wicker Man - thepeopleinthismovieare****ingwierdandhugeplottwistneartheendholy****ingshit/10

American History X - 10/10

No movie has made me this close to crying out loud. I was right at the breaking point. And I thought I had seen some sad movies before. Holy shit that ending hit me like no other. This was an amazing movie.

Harold and Kumar go to white Castle.

Most jokes are cheesy, and something you expect from a highschooler but it made me laugh so **** it.

The second one was a huge pile of shit compared to the first one. Which was also a huge pile of shit.

Agreed with some exceptions, I like some of the "classics". However movies like 2001, or Sunshine, or Solaris just don't appeal to me.

This movie really pissed me off. :frown:

Yeah, go ahead and sacrifice a damn cop, like nobody's going to come and investigate afterwards... Oh I guess they would just kill those cops too.:dozey:

I am all for opinions, but giving out 10s and 9s like candy just becouse you enjoy them is silly.
I ****ing loved Dark knight. I may have givin it a 10 once, don't remember. But now i think a nine maybe.
I also give fight club a 9, based on enjoyment factor. But to give a movie a 10/10, means that you think that movie is flawless, wich haven't found yet. When you then go watch another movie and come back and say Omg Tropic thunders ****s batman up the ASS! 10/10!! But TDK is still 10/10... Makes no sense!!!

I mean come on! i think giving a movie a 6 or 7 if you like it is sufficient, 5 if it's mediocre, 1-3 if it's bad, and 0 if its anything from the Epic movie guys.

They're just numbers and besides that it's all a matter of opinion, holy shit. :|

The Mummy Returns - 8/10...
Solid action flick, a few bits were blatantly torn from the first one and altered slightly.

King Arthur - 8.5/10...
Great take on the Arthurian legends, moved a little slow but it picks up.

Doom - 0/10...
Epitome of shit video game movies.
You'd figure it would even be mindless fun to watch, but it isn't... it was actually boring and cheesy as f*ck. :|

I can't believe anybody hates Sunshine, I thought that movie was brilliant (minus the silliness towards the end). Solid 8/10.

I hated it because I rented it after seeing a trailer and expected a full blown sci-fi horror movie akin to Even Horizon, instead I got an insanely boring and overly wordy science(however farfetched all of it was) lesson.

I love most of the classics, but Citizen Kane bored me to tears. Not to mention the tractor-sized plot hole: If he died alone, how did anyone hear him say 'Rosebud'?

Step Brothers - 5/10

Man, what?

Remind me to bitchslap Will Ferrell.

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas - 8/10

Might be oversentimental and innocent for many but it was based on a children's book so forgive it that.

The ending will hit many people hard I feel.

In who's opinion? Yours, not mine.

To me it's an 8.5, just because others didn't like it, that doesn't mean I shouldn't be allowed to rate them high based on how much I enjoyed it or how well I think it's made.

All im saying is that alot of people have alot of top rated movies. I have no problem with you thinking a movie is a 8.5 or even a 10. But when you rate everyother movie with that high of a score it's hard to make out what movie you liked more for what ever reason. So what im trying to point out is that a 6 or 6.5 shouldn't be considered a low score.

The Man from Earth 10/10 Best Movie i have seen all year

Batman Returns - 6/10 Better than its prequel, but still vastly overrated (like all Batman movies of the old series).
Fight Club - 7/10 Some interesting ideas are presented, and the plot-twists are really good, but the movie suffers from low rewatch value.

Inside Man - 8/10...
Interesting and pretty intense.

Also, Fight Club... low rewatch value? I could watch that movie over and over again if I owned it, can't find it anywhere though.

This is a very good point and I tend to review things this way.

Bigger Stronger Faster great/10

It really brings a number of issues in perspective. And it does it while being pretty humble, honest and involving, great documentary.
