no country for old men wtf/10

i'm going to come out and say it, i didn't like this movie. I don't get the appeal even though i was excited to see this movie but haven't watched a coen brothers movie before. I know most of you will tell me how i am wrong but i really didn't like this movie.

It's painfully slow, very little explanations are given and it's hard to pick up what characters say cos of they're accents for me and the ending provides no closure whatsoever.

**** I SAID THE SAME THING AND EVERYONE DIDN'T STOP BITCHING AT ME! THE ENDING SUCKED AMIRITE?

I can't really argue with the rest of it since that's just your opinion and all that. But could you please explain how there is no closure. I hear that from every person who doesn't like it, and they can never tell me how that's true.

it's just that lots of things are left up in the air.

we never see how the main character died
we never see how the grandmother died
we never see what happened to the wife
the villain gets away scot free while in some sort of scene that probably has some sort of greater meaning that I can't see where he crashes in to a car and gets away?
Tommy lee jones then is determined to find him, what does he do: he talks to some sherrif, then he talks to a guy in a wheelchair and lastly with no transition he has suddenly retired and talks about some dreams he had.

what does that have to do with anything??

then the film ends like the sopranos did basically mid sentence with "I woke up"

I had to sit through anothr 20 minutes of crap expecting to see what would happen to these people and I got nothing!

Indiana Jones Crystal Skull Thingy - 7/10

I dont care about the reviews and how bad it was looked upon, I enjoyed it. Good old Indy, they couldve made it all based in space and it...no ok thats a bit too far but you know what I mean. Its STILL AN INDY FILM, and for that it deserves 7 marks.

It just loses 3 with the lolest ending ever.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - 7/10

Thought it would be better.

Get Smart - 9/10

I havent laughed harder in months

It was OK I guess, but it was NOT Get Smart. The feel and story in the game No One Lives Forever is more true to the original Get Smart than this film is. Also I must have laughed maybe 3-4 times the whole film, which isn't good considering this was supposed to be a comedy.

Although that scene where he kisses The Rock was hilarious

Quarantine - 9/10

I really loved this movie. I'm a big fan of horror/suspense films and this easily rates up there as one of my favorite.

Generation Kill miniseries: 7/10

Mostly good acting, cool guns / locales, but not particularly compelling, and whoever wrote the dialogue sucks.

? The dialog was probably the best part, plus it's based on reality, so a good amount of the dialog is what the troops actually said IRL.

He was shot to death. By Sigur.

Sadly I don't know what you're talking about. You win this round.

She was killed (not 100% sure but I think it's fairly obvious.

Is that a question? If anything it seems to go against your argument of "no closure".

That has nothing to do with closure. Interpret it as you will.

Eagle Eye 6/10

-1 for having Shia le stupid in it, and -3 for insulting the viewer's intelligence

-Super advanced artificial intelligence. Not possible (yet), and even if it was possible with current technology, I seriously doubt anyone would be crazy enough to trust a machine to make life and death decisions...

-Eagle eye could seemingly hack into almost anything: automated cranes, trains, traffic lights etc. I've seen stuff like this in multiple movies with some super haxor getting into these systems, and it never fails to make me do this: :rolleyes::rolleyes:. If it was so god damn easy to hack into all these systems, I'm sure some nut case would've done so already in real life.

And first of all, why the heck would systems like traffic lights or automated cranes be connected to the Internet... :|

-And last but not least, the omnipresent security cam recording scene. Where the investigator goes like: zoom in there, inhance that area/clean it up etc. Clean and enhance what, ordinary security cammeras have a low resolution, by zooming in you wouldn't get anything else but a blurry/pixelated mess.

In Burges - 8/10

A lot of comical banter, interesting story. Enjoyed it.

The Emperor's New Groove - 9.5/10

Yes its childish, yes its a cartoon film by...err...Disney? Or is it Pixar? Anyway.

Its a classically funny film in my eyes, appealing to kids and adults. Kusko the Lama is just hilarious throughout with his lines and artistic emotions.

I ****ing love Emperor's. Put that movie on at any time and there's an hour and a half of laughter to be had.

The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou- 7.5/10

I didn't like it as much as The Royal Tenenbaums,

Burn After Reading - 8.5/10

It was good, and really enjoyable, but not 9+ good. I'd recommend it though.

REC - 8/10

Not as scary as everyone makes it out to be - if anything, it was very, very predictable and theres only so many places a zombie can lurk in such a small space. However, the ending really made me jump and most certainly gave me the creeps. Very weird stuff. All I'm saying is when Pablo puts the camera up into the attic first... /shudder

Good tension and it felt a lot like actual film footage, so overall I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to watching Quarantine now.

Slayer - 6/10

I haven't seen anything this good since Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter (it's a real movie lol).

Completely average cheese-fest vampire movie. Gave it 6 rather then 5 because it has Casper Van Dien starring in it (aka Rico from Starship Troopers)

Twelve Monkeys - 8/10

Very good, although most of the "twists" or "surprises" within the plot were lost on me as I saw La Jetee long before.

Hellboy II: Golden Army Curse Bad Guys etc. - 6/10

It really wasn't all that bad, just.... fffff... I dunno. I was always picturing Matt (or is it Luke?) Goss as Lomak (Is it Lomak? My memory's awful) in Blade II.

Garden State - 9/10

Saw it listed on empire.com's top 500 and remembered a few people here mentioning this flick a few times over the years - so I figured it'd be worth the watch. And I loved it. Top marks to Zach Braff, and Natalie Portman and Peter Sarsgaard were perfect as well. Quality soundtrack too. I'd probably go as far as to say that this is up there as one of my (many) favourite movies.

Indy 4 - 6/10

Average action film, only got extra point because of the special effects which I thought were good.

****ing aliens. Ruined Indy franchise.

Willow - 9/10

One of George Lucas's best...maybe his ONLY best? Well, he wrote the story anyway.

A great film considering when it was made, and is genuinely funny in parts.

There Will Be Blood - 7/10

Slow and long, meet tense and brooding. Play nice now, I'm sure you'll all get along just famously.

Lethal Ninja - 1/10. The only reason this piece of shit even gets a rating is because it was so awful it was funny.

Letters From Iwo Jima - 8/10

Great movie. I have yet to see Flags of our Fathers, although I've heard it's not as good as Letters.

^I'm finished
My favourite part of the movie!

And I usually hate abrupt endings. :D

The Dark Knight (FINALLY) - 9/10

Awesome, etc. :)

Heath exceeded my expectations, even the to point of making Christian seem a little cheesy or forced in his role (but only a little). The tone was a pleasant change after the first movie's clean-cut non-violence. Also YAY for no more ****ing shaky cam.

What was the deal with Two-Face, though? I'm sure I remember reading some stuff on here about him being "set up" as the next villain, but he seemed pretty conclusively dead... unless I missed something after the credits. Then again Batman villains always find a way of clawing their way back in.

For that matter, what was with Scarecrow's oh-so-brief cameo at the start? Probably the only pointless part of the movie.

Body Of Lies Unrated/10

Watched about an hour, got bored, buffering something else.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - 9.5/10

****ing fantastic. I've put off watching this for so long thinking it was some crappy formulaic romance flick, but I couldn't have been more wrong. About half-way through it I was kind of like wuh? But by the end I was totally blown away. Love love love this film.

Max Payne - 3/10 No words can describe my anger.
