It was probably how his mind interpreted the events that were taking place.

Now that's entertainment! Reminds me of that movie total recall.. except it was real, and unpleasant. I wonder if they ever told him what really happened. That would be cool to see yourself shooting zombies.
 
Heh, Derren Brown really does pwn.
Hard to compare to David Blaine, Derren is more psychological, while Blaine just dazzles people.

its funny..quite a few people I know(myself included) have been having zombie dreams lately..

and now I am helping out with some friends TV show(link in sig) which has to do with zombies..
 
Do you think it was real? I fail to see how a few flashes in a video game will do that, and how they would manage to legally do that to someone... and then theres the obvious issues with people that have medical conditions, or who would have gone and smashed a "zombie" in the face, or slipped and killed themselves escaping etc..
 
I just...cant believe that the dude actually fell asleep because of some flashes (or whatever they did) and was able to wake up somewhere else, shoot zombies and scream like a girl, go back to sleep, wake up back at the game with a smile on his face and not even tell/ask his buddies what just happened.
Maybe he was drunk or something...
Neat anyway.

Edit: What bliink said too about how they could legally do this...
 
Plus, wouldn't he notice that the squibs were going off despite him not aiming anywhere remotely close to them?
 
What would have gave it away for me was shooting at glass windows with nothing happening.

Another thing that might be a giveaway is that there are a hell of a lot of camera angle changes... usually with hidden cameras they use about 4 max.
 
Plus, is it really possible to get someone to stand up straight and grip a gun whilst in a "catatonic trance"?
Even though he fell limply into Derrens arms just earlier...

Why? It's just like Darren, with a unique, perhaps dyslexic-parent-caused twist. Maybe someone wrote it too scruffy on his birth certificate and from then on he was called Derren.
 
I too have my questions about the videos legitimacy. Doesn't seem like it could be real with some of the things people have said. Though, in the case of Bliink's question regarding the squibs... That I would find more believable. Someone, if they were actually in a paniced states and pulling a trigger like that wouldn't really take note of where they were exploding on the persons body. Besides, it didn't even look like he was aiming the gun much as it is.

Yeah, if he really was in a blind panic then I doubt he would notice where the squibs were going off and even the cameras in the room.

Remember the room was darkly lit, and there's no limit on how many hidden cameras you can have (it's not maxed out at 4). It's hard to say whether it was real or not, certainly if it wasn't, Darren must have got some pretty good actors, the guy's panic was pretty realistic.

On another note though, Darren Brown rocks, I try to catch his show whenever I can.

Yeah they did, I watched the show. After they'd propped the guy back up in the pub, Derren came out and asked him what he thought of the arcade game. He was smiling dreamily, and said it was really good: "It's really intense... I dunno how they did it... you just feel like you gotta shoot them..." :LOL:

Then they took him into a back room and showed him the footage of what he'd just been doing. All the zombie actors came into the pub, introduced themselves and had a pint with him! He was still smiling through this... tbh I don't think he recovered at all. I think whole experience had unhinged him, probably causing permanent psycological damage.
It would have done to me anyway!


I read that C4 had to edit out most of the screams from the footage because it was too disturbing. Nasty.

I like Derren Brown whether he's real or not. Just so fun to watch people get scared like that, in a sadistic sort of way

I thought it was his best trick he did, i mean ethical problems, but hes my hero tbh...bring my avatar of him back soon. Gonna go see him live again soon.
Some guy on these forums PM me that the guy who helped Derren is his tutor at university, he hasn't spoken to me since, but its pretty cool. (the guy in the control room Derren was telling to put the flashes in)

Derren "Daterape" (Well, he could if he wanted to) Brown's great, but that has to be one of the most unethical things I've ever seen.

are you implying hes not the real deal, then you don't understand Derren's work. He works by mis-direction and showing people how it is possible to do thing which mediums and so called ghost contacters etc without any actual powers. His idea is to show people its not real, hes not trying to make you believe he is real. This trick is just that...another trick. But he never uses actors or stooges. You must understand what Derren's work is about, and why he is so good.

For the record, I agree with everything Hectic Glenn said, and trust his oinion on Mr. Brown.
