Samon said:Well damn.
So before the end of the year yes, but maybe not November. Anyone got any more ideas?
December
NJspeed said:See? And you told me to stop complaining when I said June. Come Feb/March, they are sure to say "a few more weeks" straight until summer. I bet you.
iMMuNiTy said:If we're lucky, we'll see it in next summer.
P.S. And to think in previous polls the vote that Aftermath will be released in November dominated. Ha!

The quality of AM won't be superb if it's released in 2006, because by then you'll have played Serious Sam II, F.E.A.R., Call Of Duty 2 and maybe even Unreal 3, and Aftermath won't look all that impressive, and will be playable only by true fans. Us.Samon said:I don't care when its released, as long as the quality is superb.
Samon said:Keep betting. Christ, why make such a big deal? In the end we get a better game. Does. That. Compute?
NJspeed said:Stop spending the millions for a week and living the luxury life, and do what got you to the top in the first place: Working hard, sleeping under your desk, and live off Chinese and pizza. Final step: Get a single game out on time.
NJspeed said:The funny part is that in the latest interview, Gabe admits to completing AM in 8 hours "the last time" he played. Which obviously means it must be playable.
NJspeed said:I clearly remember back in January when they said "We have a treat for the community.. LC in a few weeks".

NJspeed said:You really can't blame people for getting irritated by Valve.
Valve fans who have 2 weeks to live?Samon said:If the end product is superb, who is to care?
Samon said:I see absolutely no point in this statement. At all. Who are you to know what goes on at Valve? How do you know exactly what Gabe is doing? :|
Umm, yeah, obviously its playable. Just because its playable does not mean:
Its polished
Its finished
Voices are recorded
scripts 100% finished
models are working perfectly
animations are fine
everything was in there.
Yes, the funny part.
Sho? Its free, it does not matter.
Serious Sam 2 is pretty meh.
F.E.A.R is great, not special
Call of duty 2 does not interest me
Are we talking graphics here? Because they really aren't what make games shine (unless your a graphics whore). And really, who are we to know what the quality of Aftermath will be...or whether it is any better than those at all.

Loke said:Well said, Samon.
No, we're talking about everything, not only graphics. Mostly gameplay.Samon said:Are we talking graphics here? Because they really aren't what make games shine (unless your a graphics whore). Seems that is your only argument, because that's all what I'm hearing from ya. You were saying the same thing about Lost Coast, and what did we get? A short 15-20 minute map with lousy commentary. It was good, but not superb.Samon said:If the end product is superb, who is to care?

Source engine has its limits. And apart from a few minor tweaks in gameplay and a couple of sweet surprises, basically it's Half-Life 2 with HDR. In the terms of gameplay. Face it, and stop being stubborn.Samon said:But who are you to judge, since you've no idea what Aftermath contains?
iMMuNiTy said:Source engine has its limits.[...]
Oh yes I can, loud 'n' clear. Even the Unreal engine has limits. And so does Source. Besides, Valve cannot change anything gameplay-wise without altering Half-Life classic gameplay, meaning, as I've said earlier, we'll only see minor surprises.-smash- said:You can't say that. The Source engine is as flexible as the Unreal engine.
iMMuNiTy said:Again, I'd like to emphasize that I do await Aftermath eagerly, and that I do trust in Valve and that in the end they're just gonna pull off another fine product.
jondy said:So.... what are we arguing about here?
That Valve should stick to TBAs instead of giving out release dates.jondy said:So.... what are we arguing about here?

They did; an estimate release date.jondy said:I agree; but they didn't give out a release date
iMMuNiTy said:They did; an estimate release date.
Okay, I preffer Valve to announce TBAs instead of ETAs. Happy now?jondy said:An 'estimate release date' isn't a release date, it's an ETA. Two different kettles of shark.
iMMuNiTy said:Okay, I preffer Valve to announce TBAs instead of ETAs. Happy now?
Warning. Primary vocal receiver malfunction. Initiating brain shut down.jondy said:That's great, but given their release of an ETA, shouldn't you have taken it as such, whatever you might have preferred them to give?
jimmy z said:so Aftermath is not coming out until next year? Valve said it would come out this fall!!!
Samon said:I be right! You'll see.
