Rock Songs everyone like..

Metallica - Nothing Else Matters

Not sure how it looked in the charts, though.

There might not be a song that 100% of the population enjoys, but there are songs that almost everyone knows and loves. Someone mentioned "we will rock you"
Everyone I know, whether or not they like any other rock song, knows that song and at least enjoys listening to it.

So yes, there are some. You are wrong. GTFO.

I said thread over, bitch!

Fat Bottomed Girls is better than the other Queen songs mentioned.

Well they aren't really considered a rock band :D

Metallica Rules! (lol)

C'mon, Kirk. We're not letting you touch the damn wah pedal again until you can learn to be a solid rhythm player first.

It works out well, because he'll never learn and we'll never have to hear another one of his damn wahfest "solos" again!

*Raises hand* :|

Any way, I'm tempted to say "Cars" by Gary Numan, but there's two problems with that. One, I really don't know what the universal reaction to it is. Two, can it really be considered rock? Synth rock? Pop rock? New Wave? What? I mean, this was the verge into the 80's...
I'd call it synth rock, which makes it a) a subset of rock and b) an awesome song.

/thread?

Whitesnake - here I go again

and a second call for back in black ACDC.

Motorhead Ace of spades....

Ace of Spades is one of the most repetative songs I have ever heard.

I have a love/hate relationship with My Sharona by The Knack.

oasis songs can't possibly be hated by people..agree?

oh and i have never met a single person in my life who has said that Coldplay-Clocks sux..

Nay, I have friends who hate both Coldplay and Oasis.

I loathe Oasis. A good friend of mine is a huge fan, and my dad is too, so I'm familar with pretty much all their work and honestly, I think it's horrendous.

my, first ppl ive seen who hate coldplay clocks, that song specifically.

I hate Clocks too, but don't know if that's because the song is bad or that I heard it far too much.

I don't so much hate clocks as get very annoyed that it sounds just like every other later Coldplay single.

Clocks sucks. Trouble and Don't Panic ftw.

Everything else... meh :p

Clocks is toss, Oasis are overrated :/
Queen are boring
It's alllll about Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin

oh well after all this

MORAL OF THE STORY/THREAD

There is no such thing as a rock song everyone likes. we all have different tastes. Thus...well..yeah..

The more accurate term is 'majority' likes, to which there is one. But you would do some poll over a majority of people, should do that here, pick the top 5-10 most likely songs, and poll over the forum.

ComradeBadger: Judging you for your taste in music over his red-rimmed reflectiony glasses since 2003. :p

On a serious note, this thread is a great example of the one universal truth of music. Whatever your tastes, no matter which band you're into, no matter how much you believe that they're the be-all-end-all and that your opinion of them is invincible and ever-lasting, there'll always, always be someone there to dis you for it. :E

Nobody's dissed my suggestions yet. Once again:

Genesis - Land of Confusion
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - I Love Rock and Roll
Dio - Holy Diver

If you say you hate any of those you're a LIAR! Or you're just trying to be contradictory. Oh, and I just thought of another one:

ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man

Now, maybe someone won't like that one. I like to consider that one my personal themesong though. I can't imagine someone not liking it.
