My second SAT score rose by 50 points to 1740, and I studied with the limited resources within my home, with no outside help, but what I realized was even a single miss answered question, purposely or not takes a huge impact on your score, which I find ridiculous, because you could misunderstand the question, or whatnot.

Also, I noticed that this second time, I ran out of time nearly every section, and I was rushed, and I think this impacted my score pretty big, because I started to frantically answer without giving much thought because I simply didnt have the time to think about it.

In other words, SAT SUCKS MY NUTS

Whats the score range nowadays? When I took it the highest you could get was 1600 i think.

My SAT scores in my freshman year of high school were 700 reading, 690 math, and 520 writing for 1910 out of 2400 total, so you really don't neeeeeed outside help.

For misunderstanding questions, maybe you could look at getting the SAT question of the day, so you can see why the questions are worded the way they are.

I have epic skills when it comes to everything.
I got A's on every geography test this year.
EVERY ONE.
And I never studied except when she lectured in class.

my math portion is fine, its the reading i struggle in.

I cant get the hang of it really

SAT's ACT's, they all suck, hate those tests. I didn't do too well on them. Don't blow them off of course, but at the same time don't stress the hell out about them, from what I can see they have not really made a difference when it comes to college. Maybe take a Math and English placement test or something at most.

Except they make a big difference in which school you get accepted to.

I lol'd when I took mine. Seriously, it was on April 1st! :D

Anyway, my process for studying for the SATs was as simple as this: signed up for SATs, lived a normal life without caring about the SATs, went to take SATs on the appropriate date, and then proceeded to wait for my scores. I took them once and I received an 1150 if I remember correctly.

My scores:
760 Reading, 690 Math, 750 Writing (2200/2400 overall)

Subject tests:
750 Physics
780 US History
800 Math II
690 Math I

ACT: 33 Composite, 34 Reading, 33 Math, 33 Science

Didn't affect me. But I guess if you are trying to get into some super fancy old university it's different.

I was worried because my regular math score was actually in the bottom 25 percent of applicants to my school, and my math I score was in the bottom 10 percent.

I hate those goddamn standardized tests. They allow f*ckheads like me to do much better than I should.

Seriously. I never did fantastic in school (had something like a 3.1 GPA by the end of HS) but I got a 2150 on the SAT's and a 33 on the ACT's (without studying for either, mind you) so I got a great scholarship and lots of college opportunities. It's retarded. I have friends that spent ten times as much time on work than I did, who are now paying more for worse schools because they can't figure out what test-writers are looking for. The system is totally broken, and it allows people like me to exploit it and f*ck over more qualified individuals.

I know exactly what you mean. My test scores were always fantastic, but I'm mediocre in school. I was one of like 4 national merit semifinalists in our school, even though I was ranked just barely in the top 10 percent. So there were like 35 people ahead of me, yet I got full ride offers to almost every public school in the state.

I got a 1300/1600 on my SAT score. I dunno what it is out of 2400 or whatever upper limit they're using these days.

Most of the problems I have with the SAT involves either the word problems, and reading questions, and very few math problems I have never seen in my life. In the essay, I do great, I do good on those, but the structured reading and word analysis questions own my face off.

I got something in the 1600's, sort of studied for it, but it wasn't that important for the University I eventually went to. I shouldn't of drank two monsters before the test though, I was shaking like crazy.

That's funny because most schools only look at reading, writing, and mathematics. I still don't know one school that actually considers the essay a substantial part of the SATs. Honestly, they put it in there for shits and giggles and to make it longer.

I think SAT is too biased and shouldnt be used really as a standard.

Hah! I beat you by 70 points! I'M SMARTER THAN YOU.

At least I think I got a 1370. I honestly dont remember at all because I cared little about it because I was just going to a school that I easily would get into.

i got 1520/1600, 2200/2400. 760 on math, 760 on reading, and 680 on writing.

absolute bullshit test, i am not 99th percentile smart or prepared or what have you, i just happen to be 99th percentile in standardized test-taking ability

The SAT is the biggest piece of shit test ever. It may have been ideal for the poor smart people or whatever they invented it for, but it needs to GTFO of being a college determining POS.

I am neither.
