I predicted this would be a no-brainer since most of HL2.net is so politically correct.

I'd have no problems with gays in the military as long as they keep it to themselves.
Lest they want to endure constant ridicule and all that through boot camp and perhaps in the field.

Why is that such a bad thing? :|

So the American military is full of backwards **** heads that can't respect another persons sexual preference? Oh wait, America never mind.

I say f*** no. Those candidates that were "pro" are either gay themselves, or never served in the military. I don't want some gay dude staring me down and making passes at me in the showers.

Whether this was in jest or not any respect I had for you went flying out the window.

"Oh noes the gays are hitting on me, why meeeeeeeeeee?"

Considerate it a compliment and shut the hell up. Not that'd it'd ever bloody happen anyway.

Before everyone starts flamebaiting/trolling me, let me just say everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I'd rather not know people's sexual preference in public period though, whether it be beasty, hetero, pedo etc. It's just wrong. Am I really that crazy for thinking this way?

Yep you're entitled to your own opinion but that doesn't make it right by any means. As for your public phobia of expression how many times have you seen ANYONE do anything to make you uncomfortable in public?

And here we come full circle to revealing the true intention of the thread: King Fvcktard is a homophobic piece of shit and thinks all the gays should go live on some island continent. Enjoy being a social outcast and hated bigot. Go suck on a dragon dick while you're at it, scale sucker.

Send them my way then maybe we'll have a work force that actually works.

The whole "don't ask, don't tell" policy is fine with me, as it definitely has its advantages, but I also feel that if a gay man wants to be open about it then he should be able to as well. If people are homophobic enough to think that every gay guy in the military is suddenly going to start wearing fruit-adorned hats and slapping their butts every time they walk by, then it can always proceed with disciplinary action of some sort against those who do act out of line (though I really doubt many would).

The biggest problem with the "don't ask, don't tell" thing is that it's inadvertently telling gays that their sexuality is not wanted or appreciated. I fully understand that the reason is to avoid conflict, confusion and complexity, but frankly, if I was homosexual, I know that I would feel marginalised if I was told I wasn't allowed to express myself. Does the military's need for efficiency override the need for appreciation of human feelings? That's a question that, frankly, I just can't answer
This is what I was trying to say, except I was being a little less tact and somewhat obnoxious/blunt about it I suppose. This I will apologize for, but I can't help but notice how many hypocrites there are here all of a sudden. Hmm... (from past threads that have no direct correlation with this one.)

*Thank you sea for helping me clear that up. That was the message I was trying to convey.*

*Everyone else whose been trolling me* Don't expect any apologies from me. (I'm sure all you trolls out there won't be expecting me to anyways. ) I'm not kissing the feet of anyone whose been bombing my yard.

Considerate it a compliment and shut the hell up. Not that'd it'd ever bloody happen anyway.
Actually it has. :hmph:

I like my personal space around any stranger tbh. Not that I hate them, it's just instinctive caution. I fear being raped, and I wouldn't never want to go to prison for overreacting on someone. (killing them)

I suggest taking the holier than though attitude and shoving it where the sun doesn't shine :)

What does taking a rod in the ass have to do with serving your country?

Personal Opinion: I dislike gays.

Perfectly Fine.

Political Opinion: Gays in my military? NOES!

Unacceptable in today's day and age. Why should your personal opinion on gays effect a person wanting to serve their country?

I've always been pretty nice to you. But now I am "bombing your yard" because you are a close minded individual, what did you expect?

Wow, this thread is festering with homophobic bullshit, and I'm relatively surprised at where it's coming from.

I think everyone needs to chill out and those of you that voted "No" should go stare in the mirror and ask yourself honestly if you like it in the butt or not, because clearly some of you have repressed homosexual urges you need to address.
