The name Edicius suits loads of things. That was the name of my level 26 paladin in the WoW beta ;) His holy smite would smite you so good you wouldn't be able to walk for a smiting week. Ah, being a a paladin brings back memories- you can use "smite" as many times as you want in one sentence :)
 
Going back on topic :p

Working from a random photo I found on the net. Using my own custom brush from before and Round Camelhair. The unfinished parts sorta show how I do it, swapping back and forth for different effects, blocking then filling in then cleaning it up using both at light pressures to blend the colors together and kinda pull it around until I'm happy with it. Painter IX, since I still don't like the smear tool in Photoshop, Painter's has a more smudgy oil type effect and you can go from soft edges to hard smudging depending on pressure aswell as adding color, again depending on pressure. Only problem is Round Camelhair sucks if its larger than 25 unless lowering the feature setting, which ends up spoiling it. Which is why I made my own that works fine much larger (its also good for doing hair)

Painter crashed and I just didn't feel like finishing it at that point. It was going to be for recording a script to show it being made but that was corrupted too, crashes if its run

OMGzor that woman is amazing.... I wish i could do digital art that nice, but for now im going to have to stick to good old pencil drawings. Heres something i did in art, it looks better in person because the picture is COLLOSAL, but I am still unhappy with it. She looks really bad in my opinion but my teacher says its fantastic :/

Heh thanks! There are so many things wrong with it that could make it perfect, but if i expose them everyone will know.... so spot them for yourself. Once i get the chance I will try and fix it....

My next drawing is going to be Elisha Cuthbert because shes beautiful. Theres a difference between hot and beautiful, i think hot refers to sexual attraction but beautiful is more of an admiration of elegance. I just saw The Girl Next Door, and now i want her too :hmph:

Yeah even though it might do all that, it still sucks for smearing compared to the Painter IX versionS (yeah we get more than one hehe) :p

Thanks! :D the work is my Year 12 6th Form coursework though, so I can't take it till how long. In the meanwhile I will eventually get started on the Elisha Cuthbert pic. Just gotta find a good source picture first :naughty:

ya burn dodge can also cause some distortion and discoloration. it is handy sometimes but sometimes its really noticable with the color differentiation

Anyways, I used burn tool sometimes (because I'm a lazy guy) but I never touched dodge (because I dunno how to use it :P) That's it for my confession, forgive me Lord ;(

how will that help him? People like that will simply convince him its good.. then he'll show it elsewhere

See, its better to tell the truth than let someone believe in something thats not true. Gives them a chance to improve, and I know he could improve, just needs to practice is all.

I'm not being mean. You want mean? I can do mean. Don't forget I used to have all sorts sending work to me to get a job. I've seen all kinds of things that pass as "art" and you couldn't be nice to all those people, was too much time and effort and it did them no favors.

Honestly, if you think I'm being mean. Go post that pic on one of the elitist art sites, and you'll realise I've been a puppy dog about it to spare most of your feelings while trying to get you to keep trying.


Here's an example of what you'll get on those places.. Don't expect any of them to consider your feelings, its business for them and to fluffle someone's ego out of pity isn't the done thing, it never helps nobody. These places regularly crit pro work like Craig Mullins or Syd Mead. So imagine what they'd do to yours, I wont even post on those places.

If people lie and tell you it looks good when it doesn't, you'll eventually start believing it does, and then you'll start thinking your better than you are, and post where the bigger boys are.. and you'll end up never wanting to draw anything again. I know, I made that mistake when I started and I almost gave up for good when I was royally torn to pieces.

google for tutorials on drawing heads, either realistic kind or anime kind, practice and learn the methods and over time develop your own. You'll become instantly better I reckon after just a couple of hours. Infact I'd put money on it :)
