To be honest, I don't think you deserve the right to speak like that about this forum, and peoples pictures until you at least prove that you are an expert. Part of being an artist is knowing how to judge and comment contructively... 1st rule, don't judge yourself.

Also, if a picture isn't 'finished', don't bother posting. Well, not one like that anyway.

You know... i've always had a dream about being an arist, whether a digital artist, or a 3d modeler. However, I have long since come to the realization that I will never amount to anything in that field. I have creativity, but it is creativity with words, not with graphic artistic ability.

`Unreal- gather a portfolio of work (just some of your best images) and make a thread about it in the art forum, then simply update it every now and again when you've finished another piece of work. Like Cremator said, It'll probally get moved to the showcase section by a mod.

And about my image- I inked it as if I was inking a comic book, but I wouldn't call it "cartoony". Comic art is a respectable form of drawing that is just as matured as any other medium... Though I admit the picture's not that great

And Fleabaine; ignoring your comments on my/ your work, I've looked through your recent posts, and it seems that whenever you become engaged in an argument you simply insult the other member, sometime's very offensively. This is in clear violation of the forum rules- you should try reading them sometime.

Even though you may have the ability to comment, good or bad, there is absolutely no need to put anyone down, even if they are worse than you. In fact, if you believe you are better than someone, the only thing that you shouldn't do, is put them down. Putting them down is not going to get them anywhere else, it's just going to make them feel bad about something good they have done. If you want to do that, the only reason I could think why you would do that is to make sure they don't become, or realise, they are better than you. I think, as do most people here, that Suicide's work was great. However, I think that your work, along with your behaviour, needs improving. It's not finished right? Well finish it. This forum has it's share of professional artists who are more qualified to be critics than anyone, including you Fleabrain. We may not find certain drawings particularly great either from time to time, but there is such a thing as tact and understanding and a desire to encourage better next time - being an arrogant ****tard doesn't make you a better artist than anybody any more than it makes you a critic. Maybe you'll learn that when you grow up. But probably not.

Like many of you have suggested, I'm going to make a character design thread soon, because I feel that will gather more entries, and this thread has kind of deteriorated into a tense arguing match.

Feel free to post any more pictures in this thread With the trolling and off-topic ness diverted to a newer thread, this one will be allowed to rest easily in it's retirement.

Sorry fleabaine but in my opinion and from what I've seen, you can't draw shit. There's NO sense of depth whatsoever in your images, and you list pretty words like "shading" even though it's completely absent in your own work.

Suicide42 however manages to show a sense of depth with only contour lines, and he does it in a good way in my opinion. He just needs some practise, but he's definitely much better than you. Sorry, but you said yourself you wanted the hard truth.

And for everyone criticising Fleabaine's Iraqi girl picture, if i had done that, i would be very proud as it is much better then anything i could come up with. Fleabaine may be a little shit who likes shitting on other peoples work, but at least show him the courtesy you would want him to show you, and maybe we can get him on the straight and narrow.

So i will just reiterate what Unreal said, you should only criticise someone else's work if you can do better and you can better the other person by criticising it. And Dark Elf, like i said, if i had done that Iraqi girl picture, i would be very proud and the thought of my mum wetting herself laughing at it would make me give up art forever, so please watch such comments like that. I could understand it if Fleabaine had mocked people by drawing a stick figure with breasts, but not by the Iraqi girl drawing.

Good criticism is criticism that motivates the person to try harder.
