I know there will be anglo and African American, but what about asians or hispanics?

If the game is taking place in an East European Setting, I would expect most of the characters to be Eastern European.

I wouldn't want to see an African or Chinese civilian in the streets, for example.

But I understand what you are saying.

I actually like what they have done with Alyx. If you look at it in a certain way, she looks partly African. If you look at it in a different way, she looks a little bit East Asian. Another way, she looks European :/. It satisfies people of different backgrounds/living in different countries.

lol no im not even bulgarian, its just when people say a games racist because they dont have a certain ethnicity... its kind of stupid. ALL games are like that, you just can't have every race in a game, its not possible. There is always somebody pissed off because they didn't have a certain race in the game, be it bulgarians or otherwise. I mean hell, i could call valve sexist because none of the combine appear to be women! SEXIST BASTARDS! You see what i mean?

Cramming a guy (or girl!) in of every race, religion and ethnicity would not banish racism in the world, in fact it would probably promote it because enforced rulings encourage rejectionism. The only way to banish racist thought is to remove it as a mindset entirely, change the world where it causes harm but use common sense!

As said earlier a game based in say Africa should have Africans, sure there could be a main character of a different background it wouldn't matter (I assume Gordon is American).

Someone said something about Female Combine soldier. We'll we don't know anything about how the combine breed so lets not go there (personally it wouldn't be that bad to see a few female resistance fighters and the occasional female combine).

One thing I did notice: All the resistance fellows shown so far have been men - maybe there'll be women in the final one (besides Alyx). Maybe they won't all be unusually attractive or have unfeasibly large breasts.
Another thing: In the Strider video, the resistance guys sounded distinctly American. This troubles me greatly as Eastern European voices would be just great. And less run-of-the-mill.

Rupertvdb: About GTA3; you know Rockstar have been sued by the Hatian Community of New York because in Vice City, there's a mission entitled "Kill All Hatians" which is of course a call to arms to attack them in the streets.
