I think instead of trying to figure out the second test(cus it looks like were getting nowhere) we should just wait for half-life 2 to come out or go gold. Those announcments are right aroung the corner people.
Is it really that hard just to wait and extra 1-2 months? I know we been waiting for almost 6 years but seriously........

did he mean important to the game or important to the second test. If he just meant important to the game there might be a second test clue on it.
 
After looking through every shred of information I could find, I think this test was never a test at all. I say this because we're now on page 41, and are no further than we were on page 1. Looking at the second (third actually; white-bored2.jpg) whiteboard picture, I think that:

  1. Father time with the nearly expired hour glass signifies that the end of our wait is drawing near.
  2. The clock signifies the time until release ticking away.
  3. The rooster on the nearly expired hour glass signifies just a couple more days.
  4. The doodle next to the clock signifies "the light at the end of the tunnel".
  5. Old man Gordon signifies that it's been a loooooong time...
  6. Several people have mentioned that the scroll roughly translates to "enter half-life 2".

I'd love to see someone prove me wrong though (about the test, NOT about my guesses about time drawing near).

Now, so as to at least post SOME useful information, I should mention that one thing I have found, is that the gman.jpg attached at the start of the thread is NOT the same gman.jpg that's in the cache. The attached image has an embedded thumbnail, while the cache image does not. The cache image also seems to me to be a clearer picture. I don't think it's a major issue, but an issue none the less.

Some thoughts on solving the second test

First Whiteboard: Audio Clue

1.Alf and Elf have blindfolds on and also have large ears = audio clue
2.Rockmsockm = Robot(Strider)
3.Street War! = Strider battle in the E3 2004 Half Life 2 demonstration video.

Second Whiteboard: Clue's to finding gman.jpeg

1.Rooster Crowing on clock = completion of Half life 2 Soon.(wake up and smell the ashes)
2.Gman intro? = E3 2004 half life 2 demonstration Video.
3.Gman downloadevent = gman.jpeg
4.man with blindfold = Audio Clue

gman.jpeg: second appearance in E3 2004 Half Life 2 demonstration video,
after the Strider battle.

May be an audio clue in the strider battle section of the E3 2004 demonstration.
 
and how old are these photos exactly, cause i think i've seen them about a month ago, and if the time was almost up a month ago, then when the heck is hl2 comin!?

see the symbols in the scroll? those are the halflife symbols,
when u look under the SAND GLASS THING you see something that looks like a clock and see branches telling the TIME.
those same branches are the HALFLIFE SYMBOL in the scroll,
ALTHO the symbol is not on its right side.

alot of things if u save the pic to you system and put the picture upside down, u can see also, that under the scroll theres a smiley and a sad face well both of em are happy faces they just put the lower one upside down. and if u read the Pwa ha ha
its AY AY AWP .

but thats just me seeing things, anyhow, the clock thing is odd, its the HL symbol used as showing the time.
this is my input maybe it has nothing to do but atleast i tried.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again because it only seems more true to me at this time. We most likely won't get any more information until the next preload, and the only resource we have is the g-man pic with the password in it. So it's effectively useless to look so deep into these things (sometimes at a ridiculous level) because we won't find anything of value.

Think of it this way, even if there wasn't a second test when we found the phrase imbedded in the jpg, there'll probably one soon. VALVe will have probably seen all the trouble we've gone through and make one for us.
