That's because that's not a game - it's a movie.

doesnt matter, still shows what the psp can handle. (played in psp)

And that nintendo shot is very old, plus it shows nothing.

Nintendo DS, because it'll actually have some games worth buying.

I dont see the point in the duel screen. i cant see how it'd come in handy when the DS will support such awful graphics... the GBA was poor.

A modern computer can handle pre-rendered CGI and so can a 6 year old playstation. Does that reflect that they both use the same hardware and have the same kind of graphics?, not likely...

Wouldn't buy either of them... games in my opinion are not to be played outside, there's a lot to enjoy in life other than videogames, I'll save them for when I'm bored in my house with nothing to do.

I respect the views of people who like handheld gaming but personally I've never really taken to it. Aren't both consoles ridiculously expensive too?

Sony PSP.
PS1 > N64
PS2 > Gamecube

Hopefully the tradition will stay the same and carry on into the handheld market.

*ahem* http://69.28.175.116/forums/showthread.php?t=22509&page=1&highlight=Nintendo

you could search :p

anyway, id go for neither, because the PSP is too expecsive, and nintendo will release a GBA2 soon that will be the true competitor to the PSP. DS is just an experiment, and while it looks good, i dont think its worth getting. The games will rock but ill stick with my gamecube and GBA :)

*edit* i voted for DS though, because in terms of which i would rather own it would be DS. like letters said, at least it would have good games..

and lol, those FFAC screens arent running on a PSP resolution.... ive seen the resolution on a PSP, and its all blurred. Represents nothing like the final version.

and Timmeh, in my opinion, PS1 > N64 (thought N64 had some great games) but GC > PS2. i have both a GC and a PS2, (or had, as the shitty PS2 is half- broke) and GC has much better games. PS2 is all "popular" games, buy GC is all "class" :p

niether b/c most handheld systems rarely have anything outside re-makes

alright i'll give the gba wario-ware and advance wars, but that's it, or atleast the only games i really really liked on the system

Okay, I've seen "PSP" and "DS" written down about 2000 times. But nothing I've read has told me what it stands for. Could someone tell me?

psp= playstation portable
ds= duel screens, for it has two screens

Its one normal screen and one touchscreen. It will open a whole new style in gaming. Take the old marble madness for NES for exampel. You can now controll the ball with your fingers on the touchscreen. PSP is just the same old thing we seen for the past... forever.

I love to see new things so i vote for DS.

DS...becuase nintendo is better than sony. I love my gamecube. I love my SNES. I love my GBA. I love my n64. The only game i play on my ps2 is ddrmax.

/hugs majestic.

I have come to find that most of the people who hate Nintendo have never played a gamcube/gba. It has many many many good games. I play my GC more than both my xbox and ps2.

I vote for DS because im a nintendo fanboy. :D But seriously, Nintendo is to handhelds what Microsoft is to Computers...a near monopoly. They have been in the handheld business for a long time and know what they're doing. Also, Nintendo's products are really durable. Almost every ps2 i see has disc loading problem and really scratched disks. I never see that with a GC. My guess is you drop a PSP once and something will break. I could slam my GBA against a wall and worry more about the wall getting damaged then i would the gba.

I also have both, but I think its just a matter of opinion on which one is better. It depends on what games that person likes etc. If you like games with cartoony graphics then Gamecube is the way for you. But if you like all the serious stuff like Silent Hill etc. then you would prefer the PS2. Also, who is 'Timmeh'?

Hey where's the both option?

I'm a multisystem kinda guy, i love my zelda, but i also need a regular dose of Gran Turismo every now and again. Mainly i'm a gamer, and therefore attracted to consoles that have good games (so i don't own an xbox :p).

Doesn't matter what you play it on, as long as it's good. so i'm probably getting both.

lol, sorry tinneth i type too quickly somethimes.

and i completely disagree with the "cartoony graphics" comment. Nintendo games are all about gameplay, they have nothing to do with cartoony graphics... i find it really irritating when people jugde games by theyre appearance (im not saying you are).

Agree, you really have to play them to see its true form.

I still have to give Nintendo some props for consistently having the balls to try and innovate.

Well im going to wait, see what games come out on both and then take it from there. In my experience the first few games arent too fantastic and give the wrong impression. So wait and see is what i say

Dont know about the PSP but you can play all the old games (GB, GBA) on the DS.

Definately a DS.

Handhelds need simple, fun, disposable games to play on the move, or outside with your mates. Nintendo have proved without a doubt they are the best at making these type of games (gameplay heavy)

Sony, on the other hand, haven't :/ (gfx heavy)

People won't want an epic Final Fantasy handheld game, or GT4, MGS etc. The ones that do will end up playing them inside - and may have well got them on the PS2/3 instead.

when nintendo presented the DS, they said: "We know this is your third stop today, and we're okay with that. But not being the big hogging money-grabbing company these days gives us lots of room for innovation and creativity" or something like that. Frankly, I am a nintendo fanboy. I have never owned any system that was not made by nintendo. ever. (well, except for the dreamcast, which I loved)

but i do think the dual screen idea is really dumb.

heh, KinGady, no offense...but whenever i see your name I always mix up the letters and think "KindaGay" is your name for some reason.

PsP all the way, it just has more to offer plus it will actually have games id buy

Sony, better games

CGI won't be able to save Sony in the handheld market (well, actually, it probably will :/)

Once again, I weep for the Playstation generation :'(

I have no clue what you are talking about.

I pretty much just loathe Nintendo games.. to childish for my tastes.
thats my opinion though...
Sony just because they follow up on support.. not even xbox has decent 3rd party support.
:( thats why my xbox is now a doorstop. (once Halo2 and fable come out however Ima dust it off)

same here lol
the av helped remove that impression though, so i always realized that it didnt actually say that.

My point is, games that are popular on Sony consoles just aren't suited to 'gaming on the move'.

Take Ico - one of the greatest games ever made (imo), and certainly one of the best on the PS2. But would it be good on the PSP? nope. Neither would titles like MGS2 etc.

Sony has always relied on fancy gfx and a cool image. Games with strong, simple gameplay aren't their forte.

The opposite os the case with Nintendo. When Sony can produce games as suited to handheld play as Advanced Wars and Mario Kart i'll consider a PSP.

that looks like "Kinglady"

lol. sorry.

Thats what I thought he wanted...

As for the systems, I will want to wait and see... I mean the new DS design kicks some serious butt... Then again I want to see the lineups before I put my cold hard cash down. I vote for DS for now. I also have to cry for the Playstation Generation... Not saying the PSP is gonna be bad, because as Warbie said... Ico was awesome. Yet all I hear is .. omg grafix = teh pwnzr
