Starcraft 2: Multiplayer

True. Popping out a spine crawler or two to counter reaper cheese and then destroying the opponent with your resource advantage is certainly satisfying. So is all the shit I can talk to them thru chat while doing so.

Flaming them through the chat is the best thing to do while you're winning.

I'm so tired of proxy gateways... everytime I play protoss now I have to scrutinize my base for probes every three seconds. Bunker rushes are lame too, but I don't see them much as Terran.

That's just bad sportmanship. It degrades you as a human being and a Starcraft player.

Yesterday I was watching the ESL games with a couple of friends who I brought in to SC2. Damn was it amazing watching those games on a 50" plasma, well okay next time we'll buy the pass for premium so the quality isn't so horrible. While watching the game we started wondering that why the heck do people watch some gay ass boring sport like hockey instead of this! The older generation could hurry up and die so we can actually get some interesting sports on TV!

Games and real life are way different last I checked... but I'm an asshole in both.

Of course they're different, but you are interacting with real human beings, and you should have at least some concern for how you treat others.

Don't be an asshole, is the only thing I can say, I suppose. If people didn't act like assholes to one another, I think this world might be a much better place.

EDIT: Also, didn't you guys used to laugh at me for going to a stadium to watch Starcraft Pro League games?

:(

Well, damn you, it was fun, and we have professional commentators.

Hell if we had pro games on a stadium I'd go watch them every friggin day. Instead we have tards with sticks :(

Edit: Idra vs Morrow on ESL

On other news, I found out that KESPA is actively blocking Korean pro gamers from participating in Starcraft 2 leagues, like ESL. Sons of bitches.

morrow played like such a fag -_-

all in every game much?

Watching Morrow play was so damn boring... "Hay ima build reapers, k u counter I go all-in, lets not macro k"

I lolled on the second game. He had 7 tech labs and he puts stim and concussive shells on queue on the same lab...

Yeah, 5 rax reapers gets boring after 3 matches in a row.

Maybe that's the only build he knows how to do. :p

he knows he cant fight idra fair and square, so he has to scv all in every match

Sounds like when they pulled Nada from the game with TLO......

So I'm trying to transition from Terran to Zerg, because I just think Zerg is so much cooler. But I'm getting damned frustrated. Finally decided to stop fighting computers and switch to my Plat 1v1, played 3 terrans and lost terribly twice and won against a total newb. sigh, zerg is hard :p

Zerg is a terrible race to play right now. Blizzard needs to release a god damn patch already.

I'll probably start playing straight Protoss if there's still no patch by the time I finish Assassin's Creed 2, as, strong or not, I can barely stand playing Terran anymore either.

One thing I love about Starcraft is that unlike most RTS games that I've played is that each race plays very differently.

I'm tired of fighting TvT... so very tired... I've played them so much I started losing to the other races where I used to win because I never ****ing play against them. I haven't added it up but I think I'm somewhere near 80% of Terran battles. I won the last one, but there are just SO MANY it's making me not want to play. I'm never going to get out of platinum because I keep losing to ****ing siege marine and cheese.

edit: I'm 23 - 25 and 17th in platinum... not sure how that's working really.

I just keep playing Terran and I'm very comfy with them. I've lost a few matches here and there but overall this game can be here for me in the long run. anyone else like sticking with just one race??

yeah Warped, I'm a Terran player through and through.

Random 4 lyfe

I'm frustrated with Terran. I do well with them.. but TvT matches are so prevalent it makes me want to avoid it since every single TvT match lasts 45mins+ for me. My matches vs Zerg and Protoss are much much shorter... but I don't think I want to switch just yet.

It's almost like everything is trying to convince me not to go Zerg :(

But to put it as a friend did, Terran is EZ-mode. It's true, really, almost everything is easier and simpler for Terran. And more boring. Which is why I want to switch to Zerg so bad, but I guess I could try Protoss.

Zerg can be EXTREMELY frustrating to play with. You cant pump out units as fast, or atleast I find you cant, initially at the start of the game they are the best rushers yes, but if the game goes past the 15 minute-or-so mark, and you havent got much Zerg experience, just gg and save your time.

I had a stand off against my brother-in-law on a 1v1 map, and he just dug in with protoss defence. And when I say dug in, I seriously mean dug in, like wall after wall of cannons (watching the replay, he only built about 10 units the entire game, ignoring probes). I had 4 expansions, and was about to push for the 5th. I was sending wave after wave after wave of a mixture of everything, and nothing was working.

He was spawning constant fake units that sent me fleeing (who wouldnt run from 12 collosi). I couldnt fly round his defences, I couldnt pop up behind him, I was being funneled into his defenses, doing hardly any damage each time because only the front guys were attacking due to LOS.

I was sat on the couch opposite him and just said ''mate, Im seriously considering giving up here.''

It suddenly dawned on me he must have run out of minerals buy now, and he wasnt expanding as I had speedlings burried at each place he COULD expand.

In the end, I went for the world's largest mutalisk and broodlord swarm, finally taking out the pylons around his cannons and he had no money to rebuild, and was able to swarm in on the flank.

It just seems like Zerg are too fragile and dont do enough damage at range. Its soooooooo frustrating sometimes.

Yes they have speed, but what good is speed when every player blocks his ramps and has seige tanks behind them, and then walks over you with cruisers and cloaked banshees. Wtf do Zerg have to combat THAT effectively.

Dynasty: Maybe blings would have helped? A combo of blings and mutas against that early on might have broken it. Just expand expand expand when the opponent turtles.

I main Zerg and have hoping for a nerf to the Terran menace for quite awhile.

Isn't zerg like the fastest in making units. I mean when you hit 200/200 and get your army annihilated you can build it back in like 20 seconds. You need to expand rapidly, but if you're not, you got a problem with every race.

Just had a fun TvT. In which my opponent went for tanks and MM. During one point we base traded, I knew he hadn't scouted my expansions so I didn't go to defend. I destroyed his only expansion. Made him lift off his main to an island. Then I went and destroyed his army and just took every other expansions. Rest of the game I just build battlecruisers and ghosts and threw nukes at his expansion while asking if he could GG. Turtle had it coming!

If you have that much freedom to build.. you can go mass brood lords straight away. If he doesn't have air, he basically can't stop them. It's like they shoot mass zerglings from as far away as anything...

Also - I don't think Terran is easy. I don't think any class is relatively easier than any other class. All of them can be successful depending on who plays them. Every combination of units requires some level of micro no matter what side they're on. Macro play requires foresight with each class to build the right buildings at the right times with the right upgrades and so on. I don't see how Terran makes any of the basic principles of SC2 any simpler.

Zerg requires a lot of micro control, like controlling the queens to spawn additional larva. It takes hardcore hotkeys user to play zerg well I guess.

I'm thinking of going away from random. Just so that I won't ever have to play the most boring strategy ever, that being the Viking/Tank stalemate...

Random is working for me, but I'm still doing practice league. I find that I win the most effectively with zerg, but maybe that's just because they're less sure of how to deal with me?
