Steve Irwin is dead

No...****ing....way...

I want another source.

D:

I always used to watch his show! noes! It got cancelled or something, they don't air it on animal planet anymore, atleast, I havn't seen it on in a while.

"He was killed in a freak accident in Cairns, police sources said.

It is understood he was killed by a sting-ray barb that went through his chest.

He was swimming off the Low Isles at Port Douglas filming an underwater documentary and that's when it occured.

Ambulance officers confirmed they attended a reef fatality this morning at Batt Reef off Port Douglas.

It is understood Mr Irwin was killed around midday, Eastern Australian time.

It is understood he was killed instantly.

A source said Mr Irwin was already dead when his body was brought onto the Isle.

A source said Mr Irwin's body was being airlifted to Cairns Hospital in North Queensland for formal identification."

..........................................i call bullshit

I, too, want more sources. It's crazy if it's true though.

Isn't my thread exiting enough?

Edit:
Wait i was beaten... never mind.

Doesn't it seem strange that vandalism of a Steve Irwin nature on Wikipedia's Stingray article began over 24 hours ago, long before Irwin's "death" was reported?

i think i heard his wife is trekking a mountain in tasmania and she still does not know. D: thats messed up. R.I.P

For some reason I'm not able to believe this. I hope it's not true. Irwin is a heck of a guy.

He used to irritate me, but after seeing this I feel very lousy.

I'm pretty sure it is true, its a bit surreal, but its all over the aussie news now.

I never expected to be really sad over something like this but I kinda am... beyond all the jokes and mocking that people gave him he was a pretty genuine good bloke that cared about australias wildlife and general wellbeing, enough to be always putting his life on the line, once too offen as it turned out. Sad to see an aussie icon and an all round good bloke to go...

I wonder who will take his place at the zoo?

This is just so weird. After all the close calls that Steve Irwin has had over the years, you kind of picture the guy as invincible.

This is so much like the Christopher Reeves death in that it caught me so off guard.

Yeah, I just saw that when my MSNBC homepage came up. ;( Shocking really. Of all the ways that he could have been killed and it was by a stingray. I feel sorry for the family that he left behind. :(

Farewell Steve. ;(

Same, I didn't think I'd feel sad but seriously, this freaking sucks.

This is probably some of the worst news I've heard in a long time, or at least the most sad.

Seriously, this guy was just plain awesome.

I had the chance to talk to him for a few minutes some time ago at the Australia Zoo thing and he's so friendly, funny and awesome.

He died pretty young too, it's such a freaking shame.

Was he swimming WITH them, or just swimming?

If he was just taking a dip, that'd just be the stupidest death ever, all the snakes and stuff he's encountered, and he accidentally dies from a manta?

Is anyone seriously surprised? Have you guys seen the crazy shit hes done? The guy must have thought he was invincible they way he just barges into dangerous wildlife and starts grabbing animals.

Its sad though, I wish he had more sense than to go touching dangerous animals.
