As you can tell, im knew here. so just wanted to say whats up everyone? Few details about myself, eum lets see..well im a hardcore gamer, usually play 1-2 hours a day, when i get back from school(i'm 14)..mostly on call of duty. But i have played many games in my 3 years of gaming. Delta force 1, l:w, bhd, moh, cs, mostly first person shooters as you can tell. I've just got into computer graphics/art too, using photoshop, paint shop pro, dream weaver at the mo, i aint great at them, like i said i've just started using them. Oh yea, another thing before I go, i'm on a 434Mhz, 512 ram, geforce 2 computer at the mo (yea yea go ahead and laugh) I know these will be useless for half life2, thats why im getting an ALIENWARE desktop soon(gamers dream) their very expensive though, so i thought i would settle for AMD ATHOLON 3200+, 1G DDR RAM, 80GB HD, RADEON 9800. Will these specs be fine for half life 2? (gimme ur opinions on ALIENWARE systems too) Well it's great to be part of this community and I'll see you all around.

Alienware......our survey says *uhh urrr*

Build your own/get someone else to do it - cheaper

Hello and welcome :)

cool cool im 14 too...welcome to the most active halflife2 forums eva!!! happy posting

Heya, Syn!

Alienware computers are very nice, yes... but as you said... quite expensive, and the same can be done for much less moola. Will it run HL2, though? Hell yes.

Have fun learning Photoshop. It's worth it. :)

Build your own ;) :p

Thats what I did \o/

Anyways, you'll have fun whatever :) Welcome aboard

Hehe thanks guys, well I have thought about buying the parts, and asking PC WORLD to build it for me..but I haven't phoned them to ask yet. I suspect it would be cheaper, but then again I would have to buy 3-5 fans, to keep my system cool. Where as the ALIENWARE desktop comes with an ice cooling system.

Letters
"Have fun learning Photoshop. It's worth it" Yea, just kinda hard to get the hang of it..

Be silent, you peasant!
Munro told us not to talk about the secret army he's building in order to conquer the world in public!

Building a computer isnt hard really, just bare in mind that if it doesnt fit then it doesnt go there. That sounds dumb but a lot of people try to...encourage parts into slots. Things go where they fit and its hard to put them in the wrong place because there is usaually nowhere else they can go.

But if you have the money then by all means by it ready made. That way you get the nice looks and usaually a warranty.

What about configuring the BIOS?

It's the only reason I still ask my neighbor to build me mine...

Thanks for the input Sparrow, but i just wouldn't take the risk of building a computer, I like mine ready made and ready for action =)

yo sprafa, what's with you and "horses"

/me j***s on s*ra** and r*de* *i* like a *o**e

welcome syn
