If you wanna pay for my hosting I won't be so upset about any future bandwidth theft.I just thought you were pretty hostile towards Ennui (or whoever fixed it). You could have been polite about it instead of shouting at him in the first sentence.

So you post a popular file and then complain that your bandwidth gets raped? Direct or indirect you're still getting hit. Short answer don't host if you can't handle it.
The difference is that when people go to my site I get the benefit of page views.
Kadayi Polokov, members don't show the activity on the site.
How many people have to tell you to shut up about this subject before you actually do it? Even the people you tried to "defend" are against you so you might as well do that. My website isn't about the community aspect, it's about informing people.
The forums were introduced to have a better CMS, not because I wanted to promote that aspect of the website. I've had my fair share of big interviews in the past, it's a given that I won't stop doing that. Hell, at one point there was a thread here that had some thousands views all based on a quote from one of my interviews.
My page views have been increasing steadily since I started it so I don't need your advice as I'm doing good by myself (literally), thank you very much. Maybe you too can go do something useful now instead of try to bash others work, especially when you don't know shit about how it's done.
How do you go from telling me off because of "yelling" to telling me how to run a website or how unpopular my website is anyway? What's your point?
And no, my website isn't on the traffic level of HalfLife2.net or HLFallout or PHL but it's not bad at all for a little personal 1 man project. You either like it or you don't, but the fact you don't like it (or don't like me, or don't like being told how ignorant you are) doesn't mean you actually know what's going on with it.
Al3xand3r, I'm not "against" Kadayi, I'd just rather he stopped
I think Mod-HQ is a good project for a one man job, though I don't really like the layout. I also think that this is a Team Fortress 2 thread and that's what should be discussed, so if you please...
You said what I did was justified when he said it's not so.
Robin Walker said:Actually, everything in that trailer is in-game. There's some extra screenspace effects on it (depth of field & motion blur), but apart from that it's all just recorded in the game. So yep, that's what the models look like, and that's what 2fort looks like now.
Robin.
Robin Walker said:Almost all of the animations are game anims used while playing (scout run, hwguy firing, etc). The exception is the Spy. We don't have a disguise effect we're happy with yet, so we whipped up that animation to give new players an understanding of what the Spy class is about.
We still haven't decided how we'll use screenspace effects. It's more of a design issue than anything else.
Robin.
Actually, maybe you should re read the discussion because you did say he was too rude, but Ennui then said it was justified. Also, get real, the bandwidth is there to benefit his website and when people go to it to download a file that is the benefit. It isn't there to benefit other websites that direct link to the files. How hard is that to get?
The Source Engine was always designed to be modular. VALVe are slowly updating the entire engine to what would be expected of a brand new engine. It's not doctored, but you probably will need a nice rig to have self shadowing of that quality ingame, as is expected of any new engine with it in.Okay, this is kind of bothering me: I recognize that the animations were clearly rigged specifically for this video, and that it was almost certainly taken on a bleeding-edge machine, but it looks too good from a technical standpoint. THat one shot where the scout is sprinting across the room looks like the kind of thing we'd expect from pixar, and the the shadows on the pyro at the very end seem like they're beyond the normal capabilities of the Source engine. Are they doctored, or is TF2 just technically spectacular?

PIU(PickItUp) did the animations for Heavy and said they were ingame shots.
