Teh Best game you've never played (probably)

Yep, looks like I've mistaken the topic as well. The thread title is miss-leading, but I guess you have to read his post!

The Longest Journey

Great adventure game with great characters and story.

I JUST played through that one. Amazing settings and story.

Vietcong for PC. It's a great game that nobody ever really played. There aren't that many people playing it now and there were less when it first came out. I wish I could find my copy. It got lost sometime during our move to my new house. :(

Edit: It's number 26 on the list.

since no one has put this down i would have to anachronox
i heard of the game when it was coming out but couldnt get it because it never came out where i lived it was a funny futuristic rpg, everyone should check it out

<3 fallout, though everyone's heard of it.

This game sprung up early last year. Soldiers: Heroes of World War 2.

It's an RTS, with a twist of you being able to take direct control of a unit, or a vehicle. Every character and vehicle has an inventory. Swap and take weapons, ammo, equipment. After you kill an enemy tank, find a repair kit and fix it up, and some of your guys in it. Physics are fully incorporated in the game. Get the wheels blown off of your armored car? Well now you are left with a sentry. It really is hard to explain the greatness of the game, because it is so unique.

Sadly, the game has a small community. It really is one of those best games you've never played. ANYBODY into RTS or ww2 games should check out the demo. I promise you will be hooked. Confusing at first, but don't let it overwhelm you.

It has a big single player campaign, and you can also play online versus mode. You can also play coop mode. Very fun. There are a few good mods out there. You can also get some custom maps.

If you already own this game and play online, I encourage you to join me and my friends on our ventrilo channel. Info at www.guildunknown.com

Uh... I'm remembering another Blizzard one now... it was where you're in a whole network of caves, with a shotgun....

I think it was called Blackthorn... i THINK...

X-Com :D Or UFO: Enemy Unknown, same awesomely awesome game. *sigh* Good times.

I just downloaded that Klass of 99 game. Wow! I am amazed that I've never heard of this. I will have to actually read the story and controls though before just diving in next time. ;)

Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge - XBox
Frequency/Amplitude - PS2

Probably Grand Theft Auto Vice City. I dont care for San Andreas that much right now its too gangster type. I miss the old guy vercetty. How ever you spell his name.

Under a killing moon, weird, weird game... didn't understand english very good first time I played it, made it even weirder....

Mafia, I know some people here got that, but I also know there is a ton of people who never played this GREAT game

I think Mafia, despite its linearity, was a better game than GTA3. It certainly looked less cartoony, and the story was stronger. You're not alone in enjoying it :D

I've never tried Gothic- it met mixed reviews, but I really should keep an eye open on the budget shelves.

I liked it a lot. I played through singleplayer like 4 times and upgraded all planes to max. I hope they make another :)

Clive Barker"s Undying.

they are so vastly underrated sometimes it makes me cry at night...theyre about as close to lynch that you'll get in any video game

I remember seeing this in the computer store, deciding whether I should buy it. This was around the time the movie "Saving Private Ryan" came out. After loving the movie, I craved more ww2 action so I picked this one up. The game turned out to be really fun at a strategic point of view with the nazis killings.

Now I just remembered a pretty crappy game...

William_Shatners_TekWarc.jpg

There was a show? All I saw was what looked like good graphics and people on waterboats, I was sold. I regret buying this game...

The sequel to Flashback, but in 3d! Still it was pretty crappy but somewhat fun. Time commando was really a blast; visiting different time periods. Too bad its pretty short gameplay-wise.

Fricking addictingly cute, non-violent games!

These games were fairly popular, but maybe a few of you missed them. Still a classic adventure with what looked like porn actors on really low budget sets. I loved this series and another one couldnt hurt for todays standards...

anyone remember rise of the triad? it was a doom-style game, it was fun back then

Lol, its funny cause listen to some of these features:

Super huge levels - up to one million sq. feet, and up to 16 stories high!

Nearly every object can be destroyed - even mark walls with bullet holes! (ROFL)

Modem and network playable, up to 11 players via an IPX compatible network.

Adjustable violence/gore levels, from none (for children) to "excessive"!

20 Megabytes of explosive graphics, animations, music and digitized sounds!

Play one of five players, each with unique attributes and abilities.

in modem or network play, each player can can select what they want to look like.

Look both up and down, up to 45 degrees, to see what is above and below.(LOL!)

Ten unique, digitized enemies in the game, plus four multi-stage bosses!(i know, its put there twice)

15 incredible game hazards, like Spinblades, gun bunkers, huge boulders, Firejets, pits, Firechutes, Lavawalls, gas grates, and more.

Special effects galore: Fog, lightning with properly delayed thunder, parallaxing skies, real lights that illuminate walls (you can shoot the lights and the room gets darker), ricocheting bullets, wind sounds, and more.

Jump pads will spring you up into the air to jump over obstacles, walls, other players, (great in multiplayer games) and even to reach new weapons.(quake eh?)

Many useful objects and power-ups, like a fireproof vest, gas mask, Mercury mode (enables the player to fly!), and even a special "god" and "dog" modes, both making the player invincible for a short time (with hilarious side effects).

32 page full color game manual. (ALRIGHT!)

Supports modem, serial cable, and network multiplayer games with more specialized options than any game previously released.

Network games up to 11 players!

Each player can select one of the five unique characters, plus each player can choose from one of 11 uniform colors. (In team games, each team has the same uniform color.)

Nine unique Comm-bat games, such as Eluder, Capture the Triad, and Hunter.

RemoteRidicule allows players to send digitized voice messages to other players (an industry first!)

With a microphone, a player can even speak directly to the other players in network games! Great for team play or taunting others.

Play Comm-bat games in the normal game levels, OR use the special Comm-bat levels, which are specifically designed for fun multiplayer games
eh, i guess that was amazing back then.

Man I remember ROTT, it was alright, it was like a tongue in cheek game. I was impressed at the time by the enemy doing commando roles, and you could duel weild.

Transport Tycoon.

Damn it, looks like all these modern games have erased my old memories! Wait for a while, maybe it'll come back to me.

The Lurking Horror, a good old text based adventure game. Pretty tough too. Was surprisingly envoloping.

<Hugs mortiz with eyes full of tears of purest joy> I loved that game so very very very much. Amazing world, soundtrack, story, style, puzzles, characters, dialogue - EVERYTHING. Buy it as soon as you see it - you'll be able to get it for like a fiver or summat.
Another game set there would be great, but sadly it's not in a galaxy far far away so that'll never happen. LucasArts can f*ck right off.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto - None of you ever played that, did you? No, you didn't. Bastards.
Sorry, I'm just bitter.

I didn't like Giants: Citizen Kabuto, I didn't quite understand what it was trying to be, a 3rd person rts? Mmmm nice idea I guess.

Shit wait that was Sacrifice? What was Giant's again? Aww yeah I remember you played a half naked chick. Man those 'God' games were popular back then, remember Messiah?

Yeah, you played a half-naked lass at one point who could cast all kinds of brilliant spells. You also played some big f*ck-off giant thing that did wrestling moves onto puny fish-people MUHAHAHAAARGH! AND Cockney space warriors. What's NOT good about that?
What an awesome, awesome game.

Ironically, I never really played Messiah :)

Super Sprint for the NES. Top down view, man going under bridges was something.

Man, it's the only game I've ever played 23 hours straight (and I'm not kidding - it was at my cuz's place, when my aunt came up the next morning we were still on it, and she was like "...did you guys even eat?" I think my response was "I got up for the washroom three hours ago if that counts...").

Thats just to funny. Have you ever seen the Sega or whatever commercial with those kids? LMFAO

hmmm i'll try and describe this game as best i can,it was a nes game, way back in the day,it was a sports game but with some unfamiliar gamesand stuff,it was a side scroller, you had bmx-ing out in the desert making cool 360s etc and jumping over dead animals heads

there was surfing where you basically had to keep away from the wave for as long as possible,if the wave got you a shark would come and get you with the typical jaws-esque music

there was rollerblading too where you had to jump cracks in the pavement and stuff

hacky-sac aswell

frisbee throwing, you had to try and get it into the other guys hands ,lol, you had to ctrl the speed and height etc by button mashing

wish i could remember it

The first XCOM game is in my top 3 all time favorite games list. I still to this day play it. I have to run programs to slow the cpu down 90% in order to do it though.

Great RPG elements, deformable terrain, awesome action, good strategy aspects. Did I mention I love this game. 640x480 never looked so good.

Star Control 2 is one of the other old school games that made my top 3. Great single player and a great early multiplayer title.
