TF2 Beta unlock time

I don't know how many calories I lost pressing F5 today... X-D
 
I've lost my faith in the idea that they're actually on a countdown to this...

they're clearly either:

a. scrambling the shit around the office to fix whatever the hell they broke and its going to come up at some random time between now and 4am.

or

b. don't give a shit and are at home, launch is tomorrow.

Clearly you don't know about how work schedules work in the games industry.

Most Valve employees show up when they feel like it before noon (Most around 10 or 11). They are then required to put in 8 hours and then they may leave. That means that most leave at 6pm at the very earliest, but most don't do that.

Most days, they're pulling 10-12 hour days, leaving at 11pm or later if they're doing something big (like releasing TF2 beta).

It still looks like it's September 17th to me, and if I remember correctly they did say the game would be released, "late in the day." Late in the day could be anytime between now and midnight PST. Cool your jets chief, you'll get your whiny little cry baby hands on the game soon enough.
 
thats gay adding valve employee to your list , i am sure they wont even tell you who they are and use random names and even if they did , they wouldent waste time talking to noobs

To be honest, I would easily scrap the beta for a finished product. Id hate to see this game start out anyway short of perfect.
 
Well, it's valve what are we really expecting with a release when they declare it?
 
Please for god's sake make it come! If it won't come at 7:00 at least come at 7:30!

Valve is the only game company I know that can keep a person glued to the computer, waiting for the release of a game.

Valve said we could play the beta Monday so we expected to play it monday. It is currently 10:05 EST at the time of this post (7:05 PST/Valve time). In two hours it will no longer be Monday. Valve are the ones being pricks here.

Let's assume for your sake that there are a whopping ONE MILLION game developers at work right now

1 million divided by 6 billion times 100 = 0.1%

Yep, as I suspected, 99% of the population has finished work over an hour ago

Besides, if you follow the discussion to the original post this was about "Gabe" wanting to release after people "finished work", so this doesn't apply to just "game developers" or their work schedules, I have no idea where the shit you're spewing comes from

It's exactly why I'd never blame VALVe for keeping quiet about things like this. When people act like this, it really makes me wonder why they are so public about things like release dates and even release times, they're too nice for their own good :(

People always throw it back in their face :frown:
