TF2 Beta unlock time

Clearly you either don't know how to read english or understand basic addition.

Let's assume for your sake that there are a whopping ONE MILLION game developers at work right now

1 million divided by 6 billion times 100 = 0.1%

Yep, as I suspected, 99% of the population has finished work over an hour ago

Besides, if you follow the discussion to the original post this was about "Gabe" wanting to release after people "finished work", so this doesn't apply to "game developers", I have no idea where the shit you're spewing comes from

PS. Don't use the word clearly, it makes me laugh at you.

IcedEagle knows what the **** he's talking about dude. Don't open your mouth till you know what you're talking about.

It's exactly why I'd never blame VALVe for keeping quiet about things like this. When people act like this, it really makes me wonder why they are so public about things like release dates and even release times, they're too nice for their own good :(

People always throw it back in their face :frown:

normally, i would agree. BUT the reason i just preorder the game from VALVE and not gamespot and got a box, or a different online game dealer. IS because they said i would get to play the beta TODAY. Your forgeting that part.

People are being such cry babies, I honestly hope valve won't release the beta tonight.

I'm not forgetting that part at all. I'm also not forgetting the part about VALVe being PERFECTIONISTS, If they don't feel the game is ready, they won't release it, mucho respect for that.

Dude, it's called a beta for a reason.

Dude, it's called a beta for a reason.

A beta suddenly means you can't take time over your work?

Valve Peon:"The game won't even build properly!"
Captain Newell: "Well, shit, we promised them a 17th release, just release it!"

General Idiot: "GAMEF OWNT ****IN WoRK FUK U VALV U FUKIN PRIKZ"

Oh *YES*, that will go down WELL.

Well anyone here expecting the "beta" to be perfect should be slapped...

EDIT: I don't think that Valve would announce a release if the game was in that bad of condition...

All valve is doing on this game is testing the net code. All other components are intact and virtually finished.

Well, I'm gonna go do some economics and some fluid dynamics. TF2 is only 40% preloaded anyway, so it'll be a while. See you all in a while, hopefully playing TF2.

if it isnt even working then they should have never even offered the beta today... if they decide to release something then it should be at least be in a "playable" condition

Wrong. they also have to test game balance under real situations... The netcode is likely to be ripped right out of hl2 anyway, so that's probably one of the last things they care about

And balance issues Im betting. No matter how many playtesters they have, there is always gonna be one little exploit to unbalance the whole thing. A beta is a great way to "let the public do the work for them".

Besides, if you follow the discussion to the original post this was about "Gabe" wanting to release after people "finished work", so this doesn't apply to just "game developers" or their work schedules, I have no idea where the shit you're spewing comes from

Cool. You can bend numbers to make it look like you're right.

To bad there's closer to 60,000 employees in the games industry world-wide last I heard, and about 95% of them have the same type of schedule...

Who cares though, I doubt this argument will go anywhere. Just wait until the beta is out. Ok?

Valve said we could play the beta Monday so we expected to play it monday. It is currently 10:05 EST at the time of this post (7:05 PST/Valve time). In two hours it will no longer be Monday. Valve are the ones being pricks here.

Wrong. It's 7:20 PM where Valve headquarters is. If you check the statement they said it would be released late in the day today. They still have 4 hours and 40 minutes to release the beta. I don't know how you'll play either way, it's probably hard to see anything since your eyes are all teared up from all that crying you seem to be doing.

Honestly there is going to be more than 1% of the worlds population working at the moment, gotta take into account Japan/Australia etc. and people working night shifts in Europe etc.

And Valve still have what 5 hours of Monday in their time? Keep your socks on guys, it is just a Beta!

If it's anything like the rate of people viewing these forums, the number is only getting higher.

Still, Valve really "scumbagged" most of the people who purchased the orange box. Most of them are probably asleep right now in order to go to work tommorow fully awake.

lol seriously has anyone thought about the fact that the later they release it the less of a chance the servers would crash? The more people that get off because they can't wait the easier it will be to stress test the servers. Or maybe I'm just completely wrong :/
Why would they need a stress test?

Pics or it didnt happen. (Wait, there are tons of TF2 screens on the internet...)

Actually, I'm sure most of the people are staying up to play at least a little bit before they go to sleep. Most of them are probably doing small things to keep themselves busy. For example, so far I have:

Masturbated 10 times
Sucked off 2 dudes
Cleaned out my linen closet
Fingered exactly 1 asshole
Vacuumed and dusted my living room
Made a turkey sandwich
Jizzed in the turkey sandwich, then ate it
Written a 10 page article on Jews and why I hate them
Washed 10 loads of clothes
Gotten anally violated

See, you don't have to waste your time waiting. You can do the small stuff you've been putting off for a while.

Your productivity is through the roof! I'm considering promoting you to chief oven operator.

Hey, I did a couple of those too.
