the 2nd amendment in action: 5 yr old brings gun to school

What is wrong with you guys?
You make it seem as if guns have a life of their own.

I do not know why people think "a gun kills people", i have seen it an unbelievable amount of times.

On the gun control network website i remember reading a comment which was something like "we must stop guns being manufactured, otherwise guns will continue to spread around the globe causing destruction and death"
It is no longer the possesion of a gun that is deemed evil, it is the guns themselves.
Advertising standards now ban adverts containing guns if they get just a handful of complaints.
"OMG I SAW A GUN!" ....."I WAS TRAUMATISED"

It is truely pathetic.

so if that 5 year old had shot a few of his classmates ...it was the 5 yr old's fault ..not the fact that he had a gun ...man there's some evil 5 yr olds running loose, maybe I should buy a gun after all ................................

yeah, 5-year-olds are evil, one of them threw sand at me yesterday. in my face.

and then some 9 year olds shot me with some SMGs...

(B.B. SMGs)

did you bunny hop out of the way? dam those SMG toting 9 yr olds! ;)

Correct. It is irrevocably his fault for pulling the trigger. However it is not his fault becuase he is not old enough to know any better.

I have a perfect solution. Those that don't live in the US stop trying to tell us how to live. We don't need to conform to your mold, so just let us be.

IMHO, this kids parent should never be allowed to own a firearm again.

we can't help it because:

Translated: Bloody Americans, Its all their fault.

:)

oh and CptStern, i had to dodge them but they shot me in the ear. so i threw rocks at them. bunny hopping DOES NOT work in real life.. ;(

heheh you've been in top form today chi
I've just been shying away from revision, basically. Who needs qualifications when you can undermine "serious" discussion on an internet forum!?

Because they do. This is their sole purpose. They are neither designed nor manafactured with any other practical application than that of killing people. Or animals, but the principle is essentially the same; death is their only utilisation.

Yes it depends on the person that wields it, but as soon as you give someone a tool like that, it has a funny effect on you. I know, I've shot a gun before (KILL THAT F*CKING MILK BOTTLE/SOUP CAN! Cooomin' over 'ere takin' ooor jobs 'n' ooor wimmin, etc.).

How grown adults deal with weapons is not really the issue in this thread; the fact is that a supposedly sensible, responsible adult gun-owner was stupid enough to let their child gets their hands on the weapon. That's f*cking ridiculous and that crappy penalty they received is a complete sham.

As it goes, I don't believe that guns help public/personal safety; they merely cause a heightened sense of fear and the severe potential of mistaken killings.
I would fully agree with their outlawing for personal purchase if it were not for the lamentable fact that it would result in a second US civil war.

Not that I wish to dwell on the past, but I always find it hard to trust your opinion seeing as you once advocated teaching school children how to make explosives.

hehehe, stoopid milk bottles

update to story:

"Wallace Alridge, 71, is charged with making a weapon accessible to a minor. That's a Class C misdemeanor, the lowest level of misdemeanor. It's punishable by a fine of up to $500. Jail time is not a possibility.

The charge of making a weapon accessible to a minor is similar to a traffic ticket. The grandfather was not, arrested."

That's just sickening. It sends out the message that letting firearms fall into little kids hands isn't so bad. $500 is nothing.

Imagine what the consequences could have been, he could have blown another kids head off.

If my kid was attending the same school, I would want to see this parent prosecuted and sent down for a long, long time.

Having guns is one thing. Letting them fall into the hands of minors is an extremely different ballpark.

I would like to see this guy prosecuted with Gross Negligence at least.

I would say it's the parents fault. Of course, I wouldn't mind little kids put into detention camps, I hate little kids. :cheese: But its not that easy to just "Pack up and move" after you've lived here a couple of years.

Another reason to be glad I don't live in the US

hehe when i was 5 i knew the basic principles of recoil, gas and inertia guns (thanks to my older brother)
Ah, i wasn't a normal child.

Heh, you sound like the physics teacher when I was at high school.

"Right we're learning about momentum today, but none of that water droplet falling on a daisy petal crap. I want you to calculate the minimum velocity of a bullet from an AK47 rifle to cut through human flesh...."

 He was a bit of a terrorist.

Come to think of it, he looked exactly like Gerry Adams :O

Blame the parents. Simple.

All these people who basically rely on everyone else to raise their kids.

Your 5 year old was mentally scarred after he watched a porno? Don't blame daddy, who left it in the VCR - heavens no! Blame the evil, faceless porn industry for selling such filth! Won't somebody think of the children?!

Same applies for violent video games. If a minor gets drunk and writes daddy's car off, you don't blame the alcohol industry, blame the prat who left booze lying around the house.

The most retarded thing is the $500 fine.. :|

As for gun control: I don't see a reason why any civilian should have one. Oh yes, I would feel so much safer, in a country where everyone could be packing heat. I like the logic in that. Let everyone have guns, it will make things safer!

If this is the same incident that I read about in the paper yesterday, then the guy was charged with much more than a 500 dollar fine. He was in fact charged with multiple things, including the giving access to a a fire arm to a minor, but also at least one count of illegal firearm posession and a few more I can't recall off the top of my head.

If thats anything to go by, the gun wasn't even a legal one. So I'm not so sure how pertinent gun legislation is to the incident.

Edit: Checked on it, and it was a different incident.

QFT at least a couple of times

and hell yes 5 year olds are evil!! wouldn't shock me in the least to see one stab or shoot someone KNOWING what would happen..

then again around where I live most 5 year old kids are already in the "pee-wee" section of the gang..
