You're lucky. This game comes out right as I go into finals week. I'm gonna have to abstain from GTAIV or face 50 lashings for failing each and every one of my classes.
 
Just to prove how 'alive' LC will be in GTA IV... there will be TV programming to watch... ~2 hours worth

The point behind it is actually pretty cool.
In addition to these, your character can go to the theatre or sit down and watch television: there's two hours' worth in the game - all designed on the premise: "If you came to America as an immigrant, turned the telly on, what would you see? You'd see complete crap. People talking about money. People talking about selling you weapons. People talking about how rich they are. People playing cards on television."

Houser adds: "The perception that Americans don't have a sense of irony is based on people watching American TV rather than speaking to Americans, in my opinion ... If America was really like what you see on television, it would be like the game: everyone overexcited, and simplistic, and obsessed by money and almost psychotic with ambition and stuff. That's what the game world is, and always was - from 10 years ago."

Does anybody else look at this screen and just see the very definition of GTA?

It's an old one, but it's the best screen by far.
 
The smoke/explosion isn't particularly impressive, although the reviews say it looks like sex in motion. What I'm really taken by is the cop car's windshield on the left, the way the bullets haven't shattered it completely but rather leave realistic holes and... blood. Mmm. If there was any indication that GTA was infact a violent influence, it would be the fact that that makes me giddy for no apparent reason. :devil:

Make sure you have a need for an elite and can utilize that hard drive. I haven't as of yet needed that much room on my Xbox yet.

Hmm... Maybe not, but I have loads of movies/audio that I could fill it up with, so I can watch it on my big monitor as opposed to my tiny laptop screen. Another thing is I've read the Elite has the new motherboards that run cooler than older premiums. The last thing I want is to RROD.
 
In all honesty, I recommend the Elite...

I always have to manage my HDD to take care of stuff I want and don't want when I go on a download spree... You will run out of 20 GB fairly fast.

Elite doesn't have that problem.
 
I'll think about it some more. But I definitely want something to be able to play this game.
 
I've had my 360 and the 20GB hard drive for over two years, and I've never run out of space.

Well, I did once, but that was because I had about fifteen demos.

I've had it since about 3 weeks after launch, and I run out of space quite a bit.

But then again, I use the Video Marketplace as well as everything else the 360 offers.
 
90% of the demos suck monkeyballs anyway, and for the rest, 3/4 are only good on the first few plays.
I nominate burnout paradise, the conan demo, nba live 08 and fight night for demo's that are keepers :)
As for arcade trials, jesus christ, give me more than 2 minutes of gameplay and i -might- consider not deleting your shitty game after the first try. It's amazing they manage to sell any arcade games

Just get a 360 with a 20gb HD. Elite is awesome yeah, depends how much youre willing to part with.

360 is just better, period. Im not a fanboy, its just that the PS3 and the 360 dont really have that much of a difference, apart from Blueray and the price tag.

Heh...

I don't use video marketplace. I don't feel any reason to buy stuff on the 360 when I can download it on my computer and stream it through my network to my xbox 360 in the living room when I want to.

I watched lost entirely through the connection between my xbox 360 and my computer on the network, from my living room :D

Maybe. I've got a month of gold either way so I'll check it out.
EDIT: Just ordered my stuff, so it should be at home on Tuesday.
What's weird is First class was about ?2.75 extra, and said 1-2 business days, but Express was ?7.50 and said they'd guarantee it'd be there by tuesday... Which is 2 business days. I chose the cheaper option.

Good luck with the Pre-orders, lol... I tried all the retailers, Game, Gamestation, Asda, Tesco, Amazon, Play, HMV, Zigee (or whatever Virgin is now called) and they all were out of stock.

I just bought the PS3+GTA4 pack instead off Game for ?320.

Can't waiiitttt. :D
 
Pre-ordered mines about 3 weeks ago from my local Blockbuster, I pick it up at Midnight release!
