I think I might pre-order this game now. I'm most likely not going to get the game when it's released but...meh...I can wait.
 
So you're all playing on the Xbox 360, I take it? What's with all the PS3 hate?
 
No PS3 hate from me. It's just too much money. :D
 
I don't hate on the PS3. It just so happens that most of us have 360s, so getting it on 360 gives you more HL2.netters to play with.
 
I hate the PS3, but the only reason I'm bitching right now is because you guys with the PS3 won't be able to play with the vast majority of us on Xbox 360.


Anyways... You PS3 guys, give me your PSN tags or whatever they are, and as I said I will put them up in The GTA IV Gang group. There's no reason it has to be explicitly for xbox 360.
 
I have pre ordered it from Newegg.I just couldn't resist.Hopefully they will have it in stock by the time of release.
 
Any word on the music content? I really don't like rap or hip hop. I would rather have rock. What I'm asking is this going to be a rap fest music wise like GTA: SA.

It's NYC. There's going to be hip hop, but there's going to be lots of rock too. And Russian stations.... **** YEAH.

My local EB Games is only ordering amount of preorders. So, there wont be any lining up at 6AM to get a copy.

Here's a date: November fifth 1955. That was the day I invented time-travel. I remember it vividly... I was standing on the toilet hanging a clock the porcelain was wet I slipped hit my head and when I came to I had a vision! A revelation!

Im getting really excited now, ive got my GAME Pre-order slip practically vaulted up in my draw waiting for its big moment.

Might be pressed up against the window when GAME opens, screaming 'let me in!!!'
 
I'm a wee bit tentative, because I think myself and jimbo are the only two present that are just going to stroll (or mince :D ) into a store and pick a copy up.

It should be fine. After the games of CoD4 with HL2.net recently my anticipation has grown tremendously. Looking forward. :E
 
Well I think youve gotta be quick, as this game is going to fly off the shelves in the first morning id say. Or afternoon when everyone finishes work...probably during their lunch breaks actually.

Its ASAP or miss out id bet.

I havent been this excited about a game since Assassin's Creed and HL2.

I cant find anything worth playing through to occupy my time during work breaks.

I'm going to a store too.

As long as you go to an electronics store rather than a gaming store you'll get it no problem.

I remember there being huge PS2 shortages in the UK, but I just walked into Currys 8pm on the day of release and got one no problem. Try somewhere like Blockbuster/ASDA etc too.
 
First stop for me is GAME at the Gyle. If all else fails I'll drive round to Comet or fire down to Kinnaird Park. I really doubt there'll be an issue though. :D
 
I can't wait to absorb the city. Just to stand in Liberty City's version of Time Square and stare at the billboards and read the news crawls. *has game environment depthgasm* oh that was a good one. :dork: *cleans keyboard*

You think with DLC we'll see new billboards and new stuff on the news crawls? That would be great.
 
I've already said this but I can assure there won't be any problems buying the game on the day in store. Unless your in London where they make a big deal out of game releases (midnight openings, etc) then you're fine.

I can gurantee you I'll be able to pick it up in GAME during the afternoon. And if not, theres at least 10 other stores that will have it.

I'll drop you all a hint, though - Currys are idiots. I got Mass Effect a week before release so I urge you to give them a try every now and again in the next few weeks. I know I am next week, anyway.

I've avoided reading any previews or reviews up until now, but it's getting so hard now that release is only a little over a week away :rolling:
 
Is the US release going to be edited?? not that im going to get the game just wondering.

SR2 looks terrible. Hope they have jets or choppers to compensate for the recycled everything.
 
i have to disagree about SR2
although the graphics are utter shit in comparison to GTAIV, the fact that it has co-op for the ENTIRE story campaign makes it very appealing to me
. . . i'll be buying both

Looked retarded to me. But then again, I'm a GTA fanboy.
 
Are there any Opie and Anthony fans in here?

If so they pretty much did a whole show on Friday dedicated to GTA4 mostly because most of their staff did voice work for the game.

They were playing the game in studio and were very impressed.

Needless to say I am still not swayed enough to keep my 360 and I will still wait for the PC version that will undoubtedly be better just like every other GTA game before it.
