Three mods :)

* Pistol Flashlight Mod:
This mod adds a flashlight to your pistol so that you can see in the dark as well as shoot. Only draw back is, you can't turn it off.

* Ungibbable Mod:
Tired of having the bodies poof and disappear after you kill them? Well this mod will keep the bodies right where you left them.

* UAC Sentry Mod:
The sentry was never designed to be able to follow the player everywhere but now it does! The little guy will follow you no matter where you go. If you happen to climb a ladder all you need to do is spawn a new one to start following you again.

I might do that Sentry one on a second play-through. Those bitches rock my face off.

The sentries remind me WAY too much of DX:IW. Which is not a good thing (IMO).
 
you call those mods? i want a total conversion mod. like a perfect dark re-creations.

oh wow, PD recreation would be *AWESOME*.

Also, a Metroid Prime recreation would.. wow. I dunno, it might kinda suck, but if done right..

Metroid Prime and Doom 3 share ALOT of similarities. PDA logs (well, one is PDA, the other are computer logs/etc), space stations.. .. .. lol
 
metroid and doom kind of remind me of each other, like the intro id logo when you first start the game is really a lot like the start up screen for prime, and the pda's are similar but you have to physically download them in prime as aposed to just being in the room and it automatically downloading for you
 
we need to put in a Gordon Freeman model instead of the marine player model :E
 
Some of the sound effects in D3 remind me of Metroid games alot too. It's okay though, both are great games/series :)

i hope someone is doing it, and does it right. it would be so insane to play perfect dark on the doom 3 engine.

im sure rare would legally interfere just to be gay. but if not, hell id ****in start a mod team for it.

just wondering... has anyone here tried the MP?
i mean i know some of us are dedicated to completing the SP first and all.. and i am one of those pple.

so without having gone into MP.. i'd like to know what u think of it.
 
I read somewhere that some people are working on putting System Shock 2 on Doom 3's engine. Man, that's going to be sweet if they finish it!

I looked at the pistol mod and gave my shotgun a flashlight, the game is much more enjoyable now.
 
I wouldn't mind seeing HL1 on the D3 engine, Black Mesa would look so cool :E
 
a HL1 mod for D3 would be so easy to do...just replace some models and textures

replace
Marine player with Gordon
Counselor Swann with Gman
replace marines with barneys
replace civilian workers with scientists
bertruger with ? Dr. Breen?

replace the textures in Hell with Xenlike ones


You could also replace the weapons, and maybe add a secondary fire mode
pistol = glock
shotgun = spas 12
machine gun = mp5
chaingun = ? heavy machine gun from Opposing force?
plasma rifle = gauss gun
grenades are grenades
rocket launcher = HL1 rpg
BFG9k = that one teleporter gun from Opposing Force

and then for the enemies
Zombies = Headcrab zombies
Marine zombies = grunts
Imps = different zombie type from HL2?
Pinky Demon = Bullsquid
Spider things = Headcrabs
flying babies = manhacks

etc etc.

who here thinks the HL1 NS mod would be kickass for Doom3?
seriously.. i was thinking it would be great before having played the game.. but now i am fully convinced that NS would be much more fun using Doom3's engine :)

IM with you bro. that would be insane..... I was watching my bro play it the other day (my comp was dead at the time) and all I could think about was Doom3, and how much cooler NS would be in the engine.. I mean its obvious that it belongs there. (then again I have D3 on the brain)

yeah.. if i was the NS team.. i would definitely be thinking of changing game engines...hmm.. and let me say this with HL2's engine in mind as well.

a mod like NS is better suited for Doom3's engine and would definitely flourish.
it would be great on the source engine as well...but honestly NS is not a HL style game.. i hope pple from the NS team read these forums :)

That must be a dilema that the mod teams are facing right now though, don't you think?

Start a mod on Doom 3, or wait for HL2?

With every day Valve delay, the choice becomes easier I'd say.

Not quite so. D3's SDK isn't out yet, pretty hard to make a TC mod for it like NS. You could do preliminary work, but really, not alot different than what you could do with HL2 now (other than make maps).

AND YOU'RE A MOD AT HALFLIFE2.NET, don't be so negative! ;(
