The Riddle Thread

I havent read it yet....Hmm, this one is probably one of those easy ones that just smackes you in the face when you ge it, but until you do get it it seems really hard. I need to think inside the box for a change....Yes thats right Inside the box.

Sorry about talking about random things, im just letting my brain chew it over for a while. Il edit in the answer when i get it.

EDIT: A PEN!

really?

I never took time to read it, something about waters fair and I hope you didn't type that all out.

Well yeah... I guess I have to accept that answer.
But it should be a quill.
Because a pen was never really a bird now was it? ;)

Anyway... one point to Farrow.

Yeah I know what you ment.
Thats why I gave you the point. :)

Okey
here is an easy one:

In marble walls as white as milk,
Lined with a skin as soft as silk;
Within a fountain crystal clear,
A golden apple doth appear.
No doors there are to this stronghold
Yet thieves break in and steal the gold.

correct.
It seems that you are the only one trying here Farrow.

next:

It runs as it will but never does it walk.
There is a mouth to see but never does it speak.
A bed it surely owns, but never does it sleep.
Possesses it a head but not a one that weeps.

Why am I the only one that posts riddles?
When will I have some fun?

Im pertty sure thats a river.

You are the only one who posts because you are the only one who knows a website with riddles :p

Then be quicker now!

This one is quite hard.

Dark ‘tis, yet very clear,
Containing infinite variety,
Encumbering us with truths,
Which are at length declared.
'Tis sometimes of a jest produced,
At others of high fancy,
And it is wont defiance to create,
Of airy matters treating.

Any man its name may know,
Even to little children,
Many there are, and masters have
In different ways.
There is no old woman it embraces not,
With of these ladies, one
At times in good odour,
This tires, that satisfies.

Wise ones there be who overwatch
Sensations to extract.
Some run wild
The more they watch o’er it
Such is foolish, and such curious,
Such easy, such complex,
Yet, be it something, be it nought,
Reveal to me what the said thing may be?

At first i thought light, then death, but they were dumb. At the moment im thinking, life or love. Im not sure though. I even thought wealth but i doubt thats right.

Could it perhaps be laughter?

I have no idea what the third paragraph is saying, but from the first an second id say the thing is death. (big guess)

Maybe it was a bit to hard...
Should I just tell you?

I wont stay up much longer.
Should I reveal the answer?
Not even nw909 can answer it... and he's cheating. :p

Well I have to get up early tomorrow so I'll just spit it out.
The answer to the riddle is: "a riddle"
Now isn't that funny. :)
It's like some kind of ultimate riddle.
Good night.

I hate the poetry ones, i like the ones where its like a murder mystery ;)

My answer is: a part time weapons instructor / part time pyro technician.

From house to house he goes,
A messenger small and slight.
And whether it rains or snows,
He sleeps outside at night.
