I have this habbit (if you call it that) of getting angry at people who speed... and then acting out that anger by speeding... for say... 90 MPH in a 65 MPH zone (I-435). There are many cars that drive 65 MPH in this 45 MPH construction zone... so I don't see why I can't drive 90 in a 65 - since both are like +25 MPH over. What can they get you with anyway? A $50 speeding ticket (The +25 one I got in the Const. Zone was only $103 bucks - counting the double fines - thats like only $50.51 for going 90 in a 65).

Anyhow... you catch alot of wind... and it's fun. Anyone who wants to speed just catch some wind in the Grandview triangle around 6:30 AM. No cops there at all!

Good job. The goals of this post were to:

A: Tip police off about a construction zone.
B: Teach people how silly driving 65 in a 45 Const Zone is.

I imagine there is something they could charge you with if you were driving too fast. 'reckless endangerment' or something, i dunno. Maybe not.

I tend to drive a little fast. Back when my car ran :( I used to hit 70-75 in a 40 once in a while. Specifically, there was a stoplight that you could make if you went 60, and would make the next 4. If you missed it, you would miss the next 3.

I think I'll get a radar detector when my car runs again. Can't they jack up your insurace if you get speeding tickets? (Haven't gotten one... yet)

Yeah, driving fast is kinda fun.

I have already filed a few traffic complaints with the KCPD and it dont help at all. It's the same way as it was a year ago on this stretch of US-71 highway called "Bruce R Watkins Drive". You file a complaint, they do a radar scan, but after the radar scan they leave and it's back to normal.
 
You are missing the point if all you are worried about is the fine. You have to remember that your insurance rates will be affected GREATLY. IF you just got the ticket be ready for your rates to go up within the next couple months. If you get another ticket they will go even higher and after that your insurance can be cancelled.

I think it's if you have a history of speeding violations, or any other car related violations... a certain amount will get it towed.

My brothers friend is basically a street racer, down here speeding is the least of concerns, or maybe one of the highest, but much disregarded. He has been given fines multiple times for speeding and other car violations, about 20+ in all. In all the times his little arguments convinced the judges to set free the fines, amazing shit.

There's this one video... it was at illegal street races. Some Mexican dude(spoke no english at all, he had a translator with him) he pulls up in a late 80's or early 90's Toyota Corolla, and challenges ANYBODY to a race, 1000 bucks right there. So, amazing somebody with a Dodge Viper comes up and challenges him. The dude with the Viper gets his ass owned. What the challenger didn't know was that the Mexican dude had a ****in' SKYLINE ENGINE IN A COROLLA- amazing, on top of that he had like 15 PSI of Nos on. This dude dusted the viper.

Oh and another one, when I was watching one ofthose "Scariest police chases" videos, there was an BMW M3 I believe out running the cops. Soon after awhile the chase, the police had no option but to try to ram the car off seeing that this driver was so good that he avoided spike strips and what not and a blockade could not be made I guess. So they would hit the guys rear bumper, he'd do 180 degree spins and drive the other way, and rinse repeat. The guy finally gave up... thing is the driver was only 13. Turned out that him and his father were notorious racers from Germany and his pops called his cellie while on pursuit and told the kid to give himself up. Truly amazing shit.
 
Meh, on the motorway we often go at about 85 to 90. The 70 mile per hour limit was basically plucked out of the air...I know I know, there are all sorts of facts about how long it takes to stop and such. But ona clear dry day, you can easily go at 90 in a modern car and stop in a much smaller distance than it says in the highway code. A lot of modern cars are designed to cruise at higher speeds than 70, and its pefectly safe...well...as safe as you can be in a car traveling at high speed. I wouldn't go beyond the speed limit in a built up area, and its only on the motorways I go faster than 70.

If a get a ticket, then fine, its my fault but considering the fact that most people in the fast lane go faster than 70, it would probably be more dangerous to enter that lane at 70. Should be like Germany, and their lovely " the sky is the limit" motorways. :D

Guess you've never seen a AE86 with a Rb26 motor, that thing is fast right there. BTW 15 psi isn't shit ;) stock twin turbos on supra run about 13-15 psi.

Had fun in my brother's work's 00 SVT Lightning last night, the pure power of small boost pulley, I/E, shift kit, my god, makes those v8's powerful....I shat myself, it goes from 40-90 in about 2 or so seconds.
 
Give me a break. Anyone who actively looks for speeders, that are not cops, are complete idiots.

I routinly speed every single day. In a city like mine, 50 km/h just doesnt cut it when you have to drive 20 kms to get to school. Every now and again, some ****ing jackass decides that he is gonna play cop and try to slow me down, or tailgate me. I either slam on my brakes or downshift and nail the gas pedal just to piss the guy off more.

One time some guy actually stopped at a light and got out of his car. He now has a broken nose to show for it. Point is, who gives a **** if someone speeds a little bit? 25 km/h over is nothing. I can understand if the guy is going 100 km/h over, but I swear if you try to **** with me for speeding 20 over I will beat the shit out of you.

Besides that, why the **** are cops stopping me for 20 over when they could be stopping someone from getting raped? or cleaning up the shitty neighborhoods? oh ya, Cuz they need to make money off John Q public.

Complaining about speeders is about the most ignorant thing you can do. Go complain about Vandals or something that actually affects you.

Fact is, most accidents arnt caused by speeding. Impaired driving is the main culprit. If whoever is driving is a new driver, then maybe you can be a little ticked. I have been driving for 4 years, I actively participate in racing events. I can handle my car.

Fact is, most are speeding, either under the influence or not. Just because you have been driving for 4 years doesn't mean you can predict what your car would do in an accident at high speeds, don't be so arrogant.

Anyhow, don't come whining when you run someone over accidently when you could've prevented it in a lower, specified, speed.

One of the biggest piles of shit ever dolled out is "I can handle my car" My dad used to do races, he has been driving for 40+ years, not just 4, he did racing for most of them, and won alot, he is a fantastic driver, he can use any driveable car, short of tank, and has never had a speeding ticket, never crashed. Etc etc, does that mean he can speed cus he can "handle his car"? No, he goes to speed limit.

Your just a waste of space Swift, hope you crash and get injuryed so you will think twice about doing it again.
 
I've gone about 175 mph(280 kph or so) on my friends GSX-R 750.

Meh...NOS is cheating. A reguar viper could probably kick the ass of a corolla with a skyline engine (though I don't know how you can fit a 2.5 liter inline 6 into a corolla). Plus the skyline engine stock has 280 hp (turbo of course), whereas the new vipers have 500 horsepower and 525 lb ft of torque, and the old vipers had i think 450 - 450.

Although my '94 supra turbo will rip some ass =)

I've seen that thing on the police chases w/ the kid in the BMW. If I remember correctly, it wasn't an M3..I remember the narrator say it was turbo charged.

You should all go to www.teckademics.com and buy their street racing DVDs. I've got one called mischeif destory, which has these two guys from bethesda, MD (45 miles from me) that participate in a cannonball from LA to miami. Theyre running in a 95 BMW M3 (they had i think an 02 m3 but it was stolen, so they had to buy a 240 hp 95). Theyre running with like Lamborgini merucialagos, all sorts of ferraris, MB SL55's, prosche 911. It's really sweet.

The sad thing about it is the fact that Swift is right about the rape over ticket stuff. The only reason why the Traffic Enforcemnt Unit (TEU) in Kansas City, MO gives tickets is because of public grants (to my knowledge).

The TEU does not do but maby a radar scan a month, and usualy intermetantly at different times each day, at the locations they choose (or if you complain, they do one at the location of the complaint). Chances are, the day they are not there, thats when the speeding problem will show up again.

Otherwise, the TEU does not have enough funding to actually do their job. Until America can get it's priorities straight between Dept. Homeland Security (DHS) and local law enforcement... I don't think the TEUs of any city will make a tad bit of a difference.

Of course, it could just be the local Kansas City Police Department that is lazy, too.

Funny thing is, both times I complained about US-71 Highway (Bruce R. Watkins Dr.) they said (1st time) that 45 tickets were issued, and second time said that 60-70 tickets issued. But I drove down there a few weeks later, and its back to everyone driving 70 MPH when its suppost to be 55 MPH.

You think it has 280hp stock? Ha thats what they have to say in Japan so there isn't another "Super Car challenge" RB26DETT has been known to put down over 300whp STOCK.

Meh, both of my friend's WRX's have done better (one is a normal WRX the other is a WRX STi) The STi usually comes around with dirt all under his shit, hes always going offroading, etc. The regular WRX just does 180's at 100mph ;)

First off, I never speed in a playground zone. I speed on roads that arnt likely to have any sudden circumstances, Never in resedential areas. And I will never end up in jail. I don't speed in heavy traffic, when theres an open lane I go for it.

Secondly, there not ****ing called traffic police. I live in Canada, and ya, its differnt then Britain. The same police that are there to stop rapists dole out tickets. Don't speak about what you don't know.

next time you call me an idiot look in the mirror. I don't give a shit about your dad. If some little kid jumps in front of my car in a 50 km/h zone, Im gonna clobber him whether im doing 50 or 70. And besides, Kids arnt likely to jump infront of my car on highways or Heavy traffic roads.

This person is part of the problem...then he tries to justify his speeding. Reminds me of the argument people who get ticketed use. They tell cops to go do something useful like bust a rapist or a murderer and forget about people speeding. And if you didn't know, most car accidents are caused by speeding. Often people will SPEEED to make it through a light, or SPEED when drunk. SPeeding causes control issues.

Anyway, have fun with owning people on the road, downshifting and SHOWING THEM SOME REAL PERFORMANCE etc.

There are a few good reasons to go over the speed limit Ritz, but I don't wanna rag on you anymore then I have to.

To reiterate: I don't drive drunk, I don't speed Insanly, and I do Pwn people with my Powerfull car.

I feel bad for that guys family (in the picture). But in the end, It was his decision to do whatever he did to cause that accident. Going 20 over will seldom cause such a horrific scene. It's all about moderation, if your speeding stays within reason then I don't see it as a huge problem.

I'm Part of the problem? excuse me, but thats trivial thinking. A real problem is the situation in Iraq, or starving kids in Africa.

You assume that all speeders are the same. That every single one of them are reckless idiots. A cop ticketing a guy for doing 100 in a school zone is one thing. But me getting a ticket for 85 in a 70 is total bullshit (15 km/h is about 9 MPH). 9 mph.... and im paying 100 dollars so I can feed that fat cops donut fetish.

Don't knock the doughnuts and you appear to drive sensibly, but the speed limits are there even on the motorway for a reason, that 9mph could save your life on day. Not that you'd see an accident coming at high speed...
