Okay, so we're nearing the end of the year, which imo has been a pretty average year for music, but what are your favourite albums of 2007?

Mine (in no particular order.. including my favourite track from each album). By the way I'm of course on about albums that were released in 2007.

1. Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare (Do me a favour)

3. Kings of Leon - Because of the Times (Fans)
4. Athlete - Beyond the Neighbourhood (Flying Over Bus Stops)
5. Foo Fighters - Echos, Silence, Patience & Grace (The Pretender)

(Included my favorite song from each album also)

1. Glory Opera - Equilibrium (Drowning into Madness)

M.I.A. - Kala ($20)
The Go! Team - Proof of Youth (Keys to the City)

If you think it was a bad year for music, you need to listen to more. Pendulum dropped their first new singles from their upcoming album, too.

My most played albums this year have been Battles - Mirrored (''Race In'', ''Rainbow'') and Venetian Snares - My Downfall (OST) (''My Crutch'')

The Tuss' Rushup Edge EP has got LOADS of plays but it's not strictly an album. At least I don't think it is?

1. Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero / Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D (In This Twilight) / (The Beginning of the End (Ladytron))
2. Radiohead - In Rainbows (Weird Fishes)
3. Frank Turner - Sleep is for the Week (My Kingdom for a Horse)
4. Jimmy Eat World - Chase this Light (Dizzy)
5. Justice - Cross (Phantom Pt. 2)

other mentions (i just took the top 5 of a list of 15 i did last week):
Simian Mobile Disco - Attack Decay Sustain Release
Enter Shikari - Take to the Skies
Biffy Clyro - Puzzle

music sucked this year imo

Do you just not like music... :p

Honourable mentions: Simian Mobile Disco, Boys Noize, Kings Of Leon, Bumblebeez, Timbaland, The Horrors and Battles,

Relient K - Five Score and Seven Years Ago was a great album.

Best live would have to be Newton Faulkner. His music is so relaxing.

Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero (In This Twilight)
UNKLE - War Stories (Keys To The Kingdom)
Queens of the Stone Age - Era Vulgaris (Misfit Love)

Justice - Cross (Genesis)
Saul Williams - The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust! (Banged and Blown Through)
Tokyo Police Club - A Lesson In Crime (Citizens of Tomorrow)

OMG. I forgot Justice - Cross (Waters of Nazareth) and Biffy Clyro - Puzzle (Folding Stars).

Definitely 6 and 7 respectively.

I must be the only person that felt underwhelmed by Justice's album. :/

1.The Wombats - Proudly Presents.... (My First Wedding)
2.Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare (Old Yellow Bricks)
3.The Enemy - We`ll Live And Die In These Towns (We`ll Live And Die In These Towns)

These being the only albums I've listened to in full this year.

Era Vulgaris - Queens of the Stone Age
Year Zero - Nine Inch Nails
Saul Williams - Inevitable Rise and Fall of NiggyTardust
Radiohead - In Rainbows
Foo Fighters - Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace

Been pretty lazy about music this year.

4 Minute Warning? What?

I believes it's on the 2nd CD

In no particular order
1. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Baby 81 (Berlin)

Radiohead - In Rainbows (everything)
Justice - Cross
Er... too high to name any more.

Muse - Blackholes and Revalations and Radiohead - In Rainbows, didn't see any others worth a listen to be honest, both definately worth of a spot in Album of the Year. Seeing Radiohead next summer at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground!!!

Too bad Black Holes and Revelations was released in 2006. :p

2. Kula Shaker - Strange Folk

3. Yours Truly, Angry Mob - Kaiser Chiefs
4. Favorite Worst Nightmare - Arctic Monkeys

I bought one album this year- Avenged Sevenfold's self-titled album. Not one other record this year caught my eye.

Jimmy Eat World - Chase This Light
Angels and Airwaves - I-Empire
Motion City Soundtrack - Even if it Kills Me

In rough order:

Radiohead - In Rainbows (Reckoner, 15 Step)
El-P - I'll Sleep When You're Dead (Tasmanian Pain Coaster, The League of Extraordinary Nobodies)
Amon Tobin - Foley Room (At The End of the Day, Bloodstone, Esther's, The Killer's Vanilla)
Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero (The Great Destroyer, Capitol G, In This Twilight)
Infected Mushroom - Vicious Delicious (Vicious Delicious, Suliman)

The TV on the Radio EP "Live at Amoeba" is pretty great too, but since it's a little live EP I didn't include it.

My most played albums this year have been Battles - Mirrored (''Race In'', ''Rainbow'')
I don't like that album too much but Tonto is an aweeeeesome song.

I almost had From Here We Go Sublime on my list.

I say:

Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero
Justice - Cross

and that's it for me.

I almost had From Here We Go Sublime on my list.

Why nut?

Vintersorg (first two albums especially; the rest are prog/folk), Thyrfing, Solefald (Red for Fire and Black for Death albums; the rest is avant-garde post-black stuff), Satyricon (first three albums; black metal, but has some Viking influences), I (members of Immortal, Gorgoroth and Enslaved; sounds like 80s heavy metal plus Bathory plus Immortal), Finntroll (not Viking metal, but has members of Moonsorrow in it), Enslaved (first four albums are black/Viking, later ones are post-black/prog metal) Ensiferum (more like power metal with Viking themes), Einherjer (early stuff is Bathory worship; later stuff is kind of power metal-ish), Borknagar (stylistically black metal, but Viking themes; later stuff is more like prog/black), and of course the already-mentioned Bathory (Hammerheart and onwards).

:D Thanks, I was actually looking for folk stuff as well.

My ears will be quite occupied this evening.

Have you heard Wintersun? They're the only "viking metal" related band I've had a chance to check out.

Trivium - Last Crusade
Wolfmother - Wolfmother
John Butler Trio - Grand National
Velvet Revolver - Libertad

Not in any specific order

Trentemoller - The Trentemoller Chronicles (I wanted to say The Last Resort but it came out in '06 but many of the good songs are on this :))
Justice - Cross
Infected Mushroom - Vicious Delicious
Slagsmalsklubben - Boss For Leader (not one of their best albums, but still a highlight this year)
Daft Punk - Alive 2007 (sure, it's not a "real" album, but a live recording... but still, its Daft Punk ffs)

From the top of my head. Alot of people dig Justice, nice to see :) Going to see them live soon!

right now im not much for caring which the best ones but the ones that dissapointed me the most.

and that would be wintersleep's "welcome to the night sky". they had everything going for them from their first two albums, but this one just fell apart everywhere. such a shame to see such a fine canadian band crumble.

anyway, i didn't really think this year was as strong as last. in rainbows and era vulgaris were both sweet as could be though. wow last year was so much better.

HIM - Venus Doom
30 Seconds To Mars - A Beautiful Lie
Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight
Athlete - Beyond the Neighbourhood
Snow Patrol - Eyes Open
