It takes practice. Look at our build orders, and you'll start getting hints....personally, I find it more satisfying to be able to beat normal with no locks then beating it with locks. But hard is kicking my ass something fancy.

Taxman...need more upgraded towers. That maze may be long, but damn if they were just getting mosquito bites from those towers.
 
where can I download suspicious third-party programs for this game? Give me at least wallhack
 
That would be nice. Go to their forums and post that idea *Though I'm sure someone has already thought of it* so you can test builds. Though it would be tuff, because when you play normally, you won't have as many buildings/upgrades, so your builds gonna be fubar...
 
what do you think is better, to have less highly upgraded towers or alot of feeble ones?
 
I've beaten easy mode with something like 8 towers all fully upgraded. Upgrades are without question the way to go, especially since the last upgrade on the squirt tower is a 400% damage increase (maybe on all of them?).

The last upgrade for all of the towers is incredible. Before the final upgrade the upgrades are somewhat mediocre though.

If you highlight the person on the high score board for our group, you can see the tower placement used at the end. You see their score too. Upgraded is the way to go. Lots of little towers, though plentiful, lack any serious punch, and getting up to the typhoon towers is essential.
 
Sweet, third place & no lives lost! I think this is a very strategic layout. I think it needs a little refining, but no one made it past where you first pass the AA towers.

When I killed the flying bosses on level 42, I knew I had it! Time to try again.

EDIT:

First place on hard. Made it to level 48 (practically speaking 46).
Notes:
[1] keep those towers in action . . . if they're not shooting at any time they're a waste of money.
---[a] keep towers as close to center as possible...for max ground and AA action.
--- notice that the mobs pass by the powerful towers 3-4 times
---[c] max 1 dart tower (doesn't shoot air)
---[d] max 1 AA tower (doesn't shoot ground)
-------[1] place as close to center of map as possible
[2] fewer more highly upgraded towers.
---[a] increased range & higher damage is more efficient use of money.
[3] Note the condensed zig-zag pattern; like free slowing towers
[4] Inefficencies in my layout (mostly delaying the inevitable)
---[a] the row along the bottom
--- the 3 non-upgraded freeze towers

Very nice, sir. I've been trying to get a build similar to that...but haven't gotten there yet.

I could have deleted items from my setup to hide my strategies, BUT I'd like to see someone do better or build on my idea. There are a couple small inefficiencies in this design & the only units that escaped were 1 boss, 2 air-bosses, & a few air units. I think if the positioning was altered just slightly this is do-able.

Yea, it's cheap & I ripped it off (the lock idea). Anyway, I got to 17 lives left on hard with this design.... (unmodified - except lock)

I'm thinking combine that with the layout below & I've got it. I really was so close - got 1 of the flying bosses, missed the other because I was upgrading a freeze tower at the wrong time.
