probably a max-upgraded freezer right before those squirt towers....and have the sniper-towers closer towards the middle too & he would have done much better.

I was just throwing up the first thing that came to mind. i've found just one frost tower saves me a shit load of baddies, and usually pushes me up 5-10 extra levels..it's amazing what that that one damn tower can do.
 
Plus iirc frost towers are extremely cheap to upgrade, compared to squirt towers

19 lives remaining! One flying boss escaped, because the left-freezing tower was distracted by trivial mobs. I have to say this is near perfection. I might be able to do this with 1 less dart tower, just to be efficient.

I'm not selfish with my design, so I didn't destroy it at the end.

I hated lock designs at first, thought they were too cheap. Then I realized...

"if you can't beat them, join them"

You CAN beat them. I've been getting to the higher parts of hard *lvl 38* with no locks...and with only pellets. It's doable, takes way more strategy then locks, and requires actual skill...

Alrighty guys, hit this up again! Update out. New tower type, new creep, and some fun fixes.

1.2 finally released! And a new front page, which sucks a little bit less than the old one. The update contains all new quicker pathing, a new creep type, a new tower type, a new creep distribution, more challenge modes, a new fun section and lots of small fixes. The towers have been rebalanced slightly to make way for the bash tower. Older versions will no longer be able to submit scores. I am also in the process of upgrading the server which all your donations have allowed me to afford. Thanks!

I'm really liking the new tower/the new creep. But be careful. You used to be able to just put corner to corner towers and no creep could pass that...well, the new unit *spawn* will die first, then shoot the little guys out, and they can fly through the cracks when they spawn out....so careful.
 
Agh second on the hl2.net list. :D If leftover gold would add up to the score, I'd be first. :p I had like 800 gold left.
 
IMO it's way easier. NO FLYING BOSSES!!!

Bash towers are uber badass. This got me through normal...I lost 1 life because one random spawn "spawned" through my tower and it was only lvl 6, so I didn't have any other layers of towers to kill it. :(

Crap, I just got over my fun with this game like . . . 1.5 weeks ago? Anyway, I'll have to hit it up on Monday when I return to work & am waiting on renders, lol.
 
I suck at this game. Can't even complete easy without losing lives.

They need to find a way to stop the locks...imo.

Something like, when they come out, they have a path. if they get within a certain distance of a tower that is blocking the path, they mow through it. That means you'll have to give them MORE room to get back and forth, and then you won't be able to successfully block.

I just think it's a cheap tactic, and takes away the entire purpose of the game. Where is the strategy in a lock?

The lock IS the strategy.

I hardly call it a strategy in terms of what they were aiming for when they made the game. It's just a no skill strat. I mean, anybody anywhere can make a lock...but how many people do you know that can beat hard without one? Hell, who can beat the 100 without one?

Yeah, essentially keep them pacing back and forth from entrance to entrance when you change them up.
 
Cool game, I copied taxman's strategy (screenshot on page 1) and completed it with hardly any effort. Just make sure you keep upgrading everything (most things 2 or 3 stages up) and have at least 3 pellet shooters upgraded all the way (preferably across the center, with 2 to the left and 2 to the right). The game completes itself. Don't use freezetowers, groundbreakers or anti aircraft towers, they're useless and expensive.
