This whole elevator idea would be cool! :)

It just implies a lot of issues with the way CS:S plays. What if someone defuses the bomb while the elevator goes down 20 mph? Can't enter an elevator in movement so if the only guy in the elevator dies (HE grenade let's say) well, the bomb WILL detonate no matter if 12 other guys have defusers and are ready to defuse. Fast moving elevators suck online if I remember well so there are many issues...

That is super sweet. Even if I don't use it as a CSS map, seeing as I barely play it, I shall just walk around looking at it :) And it will certainly make a great Garry's mod map.

there's no way in source to teleport from one place to another, is there? As in, two adjacent backdoors might not be adjacent on the other side, get what i mean? But kudos for the quality mapping. More screens?

I'm sure that's possible, because in HL2, we got teleported from Kleiner's lab to a beach and into the citadel out of nowhere. Obviously, I know it wasn't the actual citadel, because that would make the entire map for that stage of that chapter humungous.
 
Try some funmaps in css :) you'll see teleporters all over the place.

But keep up the nice work. Hopefully people will actually use teamwork and tactics on this map, rather than run and gun deathmatch.

Teleporters can be used in HL2, HL2:DM or CS:S maps!

sinkoman: I'm a level designer. I been making levels for 1st person games ever since the original Doom! My goal: always try to surpass or at least make maps of the same quality than the original game. I try to make my stuff look like professional! ;)

I'll be testing a bogus elevator test map tonight. They appear to suck online with source so I gotta test that before working on this for too long.

The government lobby is simply stunning. I'm no CS player, but I'll play your map just to see if it feels like in the movie. I also like the dojo, but it doesn't look like a nice place to fight in (no cover etc.).

HOWEVER... I don't like the door textures of the stairway. You have used them creatively, but... they still look like doors out of place, if you know what I mean. The duel crater looks too flat and narrow, but I can't say how you could improve it.

Anyway, keep up the good work! ;)

Very nice work, Moonquake. I can't wait to paly this. You should see if you could get a really good AI scripter to help you make a single-player map or something.
 
Ah! Found a solution to the good ol' "elevators suck in CS:S" problem! hehe

Jarman: each room has a different gameplay approach. The Dojo is more than what you see on a screenshots! :)

Rupert: it's all using HL2 textures only.

Malfunction: maybe a singleplayer map later, in the future who knows?

I just watched all three Matric films last night and The Animatrix and have a few questions. Will this include any places from the Animatrix? Does it include the Trainstation from Revolutions? Does it include the 100-Smith fight area from Reloaded? And finally, does Source hace the capabilites for doing rooftops because I would love to see the bullet-dodging roof top.

Nope, no link sry. the map name is matrix2005 and i still have it on my pc i can send it to u over email if u want or send via an IM program (pm me your info). I tried for a bit to find it on google but to no awail :/

Also do u remember the vegas map from the old CS? Remember when u pushed the mic, and elvis said something (Uh huh hu, thank you very much)? Well u could do a similar thing but obviously with sound from the original movies from a episode in that room the player is in(Ding - stop blablabla change keys blabla - - bang bang bang- need backup!! - bangbangbang - FREEEZE!!!! BANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGBANGABANGABA etc. u get the point) :D

I do belive I am a great map tester btw just so u know (dont ask me why) :D

ps GREAT JOB!!! ur map is 300.000 times better than the matrix2005 I mentioned above (or below depending on where on the globe the reader of this post is currently situated). :afro:

EDIT: Oh yeah the duel crater seems too small for me to have a good knife fight, perhaps realistic from the movie but too little m8, also Im afraid u can get stuck on the sides too easily :( I hate dying cuz Im stuck on something. /me shakes fist @ barrels in CS S!
 
UPDATE:

I been working on connecting the rooms altogether. It's all going well. I've had some issues (related to trying to push an engine to it's limit most of the time! hehe) but they're all fixed for now. I couldn't work on the map yesterday because my ISP's authentication servers died and I couldn't use the internet at all meaning what about Steam??? Meaning that you can start games in OFFLINE mode, but... HAMMER doesn't work in OFFLINE mode (sighs) go figure the logic behind that! So I'm back on track now and hard working!

Reginald: I did not plan on including stuff from the Animatrix, even though I enjoyed it a lot. Like a lot of you guys, I liked the 100 Agent Smith fight scene and the place they fight in. Unfortunately, this "room" not only is detailed and uses a lot of different textures but it also offers no real interesting gameplay. We all have guns in CS:S so whoever goes into a room like that without a gun dies! :)

Selas: well, then forget about this matrix2005 map if you say it's not good. Also, I can't use sounds from the movies for I would be violating copyrights of some sort I'm sure. :( :)
