Going for BCs is a challenge and a risk, but if you start with reapers (which I rarely do anymore since everyone expects it) or go straight to marauder/marine combo, you can pretty easily tech into BCs. You see the best augmentation to M&M is medivacs. Stim packs+ 3-4 medivacs is truly brutal. The thing is, if you get in a situation where you're evenly matched and either you retreat or both of your forces, you can transition to fairly early BCs. Since you have the starport for the medivacs, you can either build a quick tech bay or drop it on one of the barrack tech bays while you're throwing a fusion core together and you have the necessities for BCs. Build a second Starport and you're well on your way to your invincible fleet. There is some time there though where you're at risk since BCs take an eternity to create. Plus they're nearly useless against a mass of smaller units like marines. The thing is, you can manuever them into great positions where they can beat the bejesus out of a base and then scoot away.
Really, I'd go for banshees if I was facing terran or possibly protoss minus a thousand photon cannons because they'ref aster and just as good at taking out ground targets.
Really I feel bad that I've been so successfull with M&M.... Yesterday I took out a zerg player before he could kill more than a supply depot and a bunker. He tried all the tircks, but once I built up my force and hit the middle (where I encountered a ton of zerlings) he didn't manage to kill a single unit I had out there thanks to my medivacs. I stimmed and took them all out and he quit before I even hit his base.
That being said, no two battles are exactly the same. My strategy doesn't always work and involves some good timing and prudent micro. If I don't win in my big assault I'm fairly far behind due to my lack of expansion...
