validating files

a friend of mine is having trouble getting css to patch, he lpayed his account over at my house on a 2nd pc, went hom to play back at his and it told him he had already patched

he had,but not at his house lol, surely if he verifies his files itl dl what he needs?

just dont know how..

did a lil search didnt find anything, didnt look 2 hard tbh

I think (not sure though) that he has to delete the game from his HD and then download it again in order to get the patches. I thought validation of the files just checks them through for errors/corrupted files, however i may be wrong.

No, it also checks if you have all the files. However, if the patch has not yet begun downloading, the validation process won't pick it up and you'll still be left with an outdated version even after validating.
