Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War. Play?

heh, and it was 4 advanced computers....admittedly they were all on different sides.

I survived because I was attacked last. I sort of reached a standoff with the AI as it seemed to be just running around the map (maybe a bug that). Got tired of it in the end and just attacked. Lost after my army was obliterated.

Still, pretty cool game. I'll try to join the next one too, but I might be busy upgrading my athlon 1800 to my new athlon xp 3000+ (woot).
 
Well I feel like playing again...I just couldn't sty away. I've decided to start practisisng with another race now.

Very... educational game. I got wiped out after like 15 mins, but I did notice some stuff while observing. Like how vehicles take very very little damage, they're pretty much immune, from weapons that are "effective against infantry". Next time I'll be building more rocket launching stuff.

Also, I don't think we can ever win if the AI gangs up like this. It's basically three armies vs. one until none of us is left.

I quit the game when the battle reached a standoff at dedalus' base, 'cause the AI switched to trickle attacks of a couple of units at a time. By then the huge army it used to obliterate me was pretty much gone, so it couldn't mass attack anymore. I didn't feel like watching the same mini AI-attacks over and over again.

Anyway, how did the game end?

farrow and rico had their bases completely destroyed, but they were smart enough to send some builders to my base. they built up their base inside mine, behind my lines of turrets. after almost an hour of building and defending, we went for it. just rushed and took them out completely :D

it was a quality game, but i think we held farrow up a bit, cos his tea is now stone cold :(
 
We KICKED THEIR ASS!

It was very fun... somehow we all managed to rebuild our bases on Dedalus's main then started to mass units and hold off their attacks. After that I started recapping some nodes and then we set out to kill their main bases.

Quite the fun battle.

I get kicked non-stop online, you guys have any advice? outta 4 games, 2 have been disconnects just before loading, 2 have been drops 4-5 minutes into the game. It always says something about the cdkey, but I signed up for mine fine! HELP!

:eek: That's insane. Very nice indeed

I think I'll be depositing some builder units in one of our other bases as well. I also want to try one of the other races, the orks don't really fit my style I think, even if they do say "green is best".
 
Sorry for the double post, but I can't edit anymore and I just found something for punisher. A mod can edit this into my previous post if he wants.

No fix yet, but they ask people who have the problem to post some details. At least you're (obviously) not the only one with the problem.

ok enough of that, i'm up for any games today if any of you guys want to test your mettle againts mine, hehehe, i hope we can try out some of the sweet new maps... least... they are kinda new...... to me at least... anyway. im up for a game!

I don't think there will be a game today, most of us are around the GMT timezone (don't know if you are), and it's a bit late for the usual 1-2 hour game :)

I'm hoping for one tomorrow. If necessary I can try hosting one, if my connection is up to the task (384kbit upload). I feel like playing again.

It, after a short while it wasn't just dedalus' turrets ;)


Anyway, I build a load of Fire Prism tanks...the ultimate weapon really. They aren't that tough, but they are relatively cheap and very powerful. I built quite a lot of those big eldar walker things as well. And of course...I got the special eldar guy. A big firery war god with a huge sword :) About as big as the bloodthirster, maybe a little smaller but just as good none the less :)

I also had some infantry wandering around too. The eldar are weird though, I didn't really get started as fast as I do with the marines and thast why I was killed off. They attacked greenbunny, but a group of people came for me as well, which made it difficult for me to advance.


I might be up for a game when I get back from work (Not sure when that is, im going in at 4 but I finnish once I've done the job really. They said it would take more than 3 hours, but I doubt)
 
i'll be up for a game this evening if anyone's interested.

It will probably last quite close to the release, it seems to have done already being as the game is out early "This Fall" as you Americans say. :)

And yeah we can at least play the tutorial, I like the way the starting position place and enemy are random.(Well, random in that you either star here or there ;))

Anyway, I'm here ready to play. Just give me a whipser(My head hurts :() and Il be ready

I'm up for another. Maybe a bit harder though. Where the AIs on different teams? The Chaos one seemed to fall straight away.
 
yeah they were on different teams. we got completely wasted last time they were on the same team, and i remember farrow tried a game similar to that...so i thought meh, why not.
