What are you going to do to HL?

When you buy HL2 what are you going to do to your HL1?

Are you going to delete it or keep it on until no one plays it?

I might keep it on for a little bit to play some HL1 mods but soon as those get on Hl2 its good bye HL1 :cheers:
 
I'm going to burn it in a pagan ritualistic ceremony with incense and chanting naked people parading around the pyre with copies of HL2.

I was thinking of keeping it for CS after I beat HL2, but by then I'll probably have DOOM3, and by the time I finish that I'll have Vampire-Bloodlines, and by the time I finish that I'll have DX2, and by the time I finish that...well I'm sure someone will have a kickass HL2 mod so I'll be alright.

The fact of the matter is HL1 is a like a 150 year old superstar who we all love but are suprised didn't die a long time ago.
 
god i hope cs dies once and for all, and cs2 will take its place. I mean cs is great, but cmon, its been almost 5 years, time for something new!!

Wow...how long will that take Typhon? Seems like 3-4 months because Doom 3 wont be out right when HL2 comes.....or maybe it will :eek:
 
you don't need HL to play CS; as far as space goes, I have plenty, so the Steam version of HL will stay forever probably :p
 
well, after beating hl2 once or twice, ill disconnect all outside communication to the world and beat hl1 and hl2 in order and not stoping for anything, ANYTHING!!!

RIGHT.. and cs2 would be something totally new in your oppginion. nah. lets cut the crap with all these realistic shooters. its time for a new concept to take the crown of most played mod on the hl2 engine.

Well, i'm gonna format my comp so it can run HL2 a wittle bit better, and I wont bother to install HL1 EVER again ;(
 
I have the generation pack and i'm keeping them all for "future" use! :p
 
as long as I have disc-space I think I'll keep it...but yeah at some point when the really good mods and mod-remakes comes out for HL2 it will probably be obsolete...

*edit**pointless info* I'm in the twilight zone or something...often when I post I'm the one getting the first post on the next page...
 
I don't know what I'll do with it... currently I have CS 1.5 installed mod version. Since at the time I formatted I didn't have my copy of CS retail a friend did, so I installed HL and installed mod CS... I might keep it that way until I have to format again or something.
 
ill save it so that when i am older i can play hl1, hl2, then hl3 in order (hl3 has been "confirmed" by PlanetHalfLife.com even though they also said hl2 will be delayed which is still unknown)
 
HL3 WILL be made as Gabe has mentioned in countless interviews.
 
Why do people want CS to die? You can play more than one mod you know. Whats wrong with having the origional cs still going even when something else takes the crown?
 
After I got another 120 Gb hard drive I forgot there is such a thing as a delete key :)

Seriously though, for practical reasons I don't wanna delete HL1. I doubt I'll play it much after HL2 is released, however installing it and downloading all the patches and mods is such a pain in the ass, I'd rather not do it again.

You know Ender....thats a pretty good idea. I am going to do that and see if everything is continuious :) As for the HL1...I lost my CD so i cant frame it, poop on it, or burn it like some of you are planning to do....pretty wild there :cool:
 
I shall poop on it, throw it against a wall, hope it sticks, put a frame around it then burn it. Acctually im gonna keep it. I still got plenty of HD space so I see no point in deleting it.
 
I only have the Steam version of HL installed. The CD is safe in a book shelf. No I won't uinstall my Steam version of Half-Life... I won't do anything to it in fact. It shall be left a lone in peace. :)

Well that's GAY! I was actually hoping to get a conslusive ending this time, something of a little substance. They better not cop out on the story and tell me I have wait 5 years for the next ****ing Half-Life. :flame:
 
I plan to keep HL1, it's a pure classic.

I wanna play it a few days before HL2's release, just to get me hyped up for it... :D

And as for the folk who can't... quite... handle... more than... one... mod... Aaaaarrrgh! It's ok, we'll get through this. CS'll be alive and kicking for a while to come (although by the time CS2's out... The king is dead, long live the king, etc.)

I'm keeping it, some people will still be playing it online. My clan is not going to switch to HL2 immediately, because some people might not have fast enought machines to play it. But no doubt I will be playing it very little.
 
Yeah Im gonna keep HL1 thats for sure I have enough space to keep it on my disc though but I prolly will give it up after a while :)
 
i dont know about half-life. I might keep it. I really dont know, I might be too busy playing half-life 2 to delete it. I'm also on the bandwagon on counter-strike getting dethrowned, I liked it for awhile. But right now it's just really old. "Realistic shooter" no its not, i didnt know an awp shot to the toe kills people. Go Figure! We need more unique mods like Natural Selection, etc.

Anyway, everyone just plays the dust map. over and over and over again. Counter-Strike 2 is going to be like tfc, same thing, better graphics.

dude its not even supposed to BE realistic, its just an arcade style game. semi-realistic. and as for the awp shot to the toe, that WILL NOT KILL ANYONE, unless they have already been damaged. just cause u think its boring, why does it have to be dethroned? all U need to do is stop playing it. simple as that. and in the words of Bruce Almighty, thats the way the cookie crumbles.
 
well i installed hl today on me new pc,

and well yea it installed all good.

but when i went to play game.

and clicked on the dificulty, after it said "insert CD" when it was????

Um, yes you will get killed by getting shot anywhere with an awp. the mod is crap. end of story.

I once survived an AWP shot (I was wearing armour too). Happens very rarely though.
