Just a thread to share your stories about what you've done in Oblivion. Adventures, neat sightings, funny NPCs, etc. are all welcome here.

Please mark all possible spoilers. Oblivion is an amasing, immersive and fun, don't ruin it for others.

Today I got inducted into the Dark Brotherhood, an assassin's guild. Great, great fun. PM me/post here if you need to know how to be in it. I highly suggest it if you like to sneak around, you get some nice equipment.

I messed up the part where you have to have the deer head fall on the guy. I just couldn't find the "crawlspace." No bonus for me. So I went onto the next one where you have to kill the guy in jail. How can you not alert the guards. Seriously. I had about 8 guards trail me thoughout the whole prison. I finally reached the guy and killed him... then got raped by those 8 guards in the matter of seconds.

This is a spoiler of a sidequest

I was on my way to a shrine for a quest when I happened by a Oblivion gate right outside of Cheydenhal (sp?) that had a few guards watching over it. I went in and found these two jokers who seemed to enjoy jumping into lava just because Daedric lords did. It was by far the coolest and most creepy place I have been yet (although, I had only been in one other gate besides the one in Kvatch). Found some nice equipment in there, and got a nifty sword as a reward for closing it.

Other than that, I joined the Arena, and advanced to grand master in no time. Too easy if you ask me. I think I used a total of 4 healing potions, and I was only level 4 when I entered (level 8 when I got out hehe). Then I took a tour around the Imperial palace and took some screenshots.

[/i]That crawlspace is in the room on the 2nd floor btw. To creep around the guards I had to be very patient and wait until guards patrolled by me. There was one guy I had to VERY SLOWLY tap movement keys while sneaking in order to get by him but I didn't alert anybody the entire time.[/i]
I also finished getting my glass armor set, got a new weapon, bought a house and completely furnished it, was dubbed a Knight, assassinated multiple people, and only leveled twice :(

Having my blade skill mastered slows down my leveling a lot since I don't have a weapon skill I constantly level. I think I'll start working on blunt weps now.

Guild ranks take a while to get and I wonder just how many there are :P

I have a few questions...who can recharge my magic weapons and what the hell can I really do with soul gems? I have tons of them with souls already inside. I click on them and a semi-blank menu kinda comes up and I can't do anything but close it.

Water walking is fun though :D

Yep. From there you get a quest and it's not hard.
 
I did a very cool quest by an overheard discussion about a "Painting".

[SPOILER>>>]

You go into the painting and it is like Photoshop paintbrush effect mode Oblvion forrest! You get a real expensive reward.

I'm level 8 now and a Journyman in blade and light armor.

Going to get my Resperation (minor skill) upto 25 so I can use greater healing and Marksman up to Journeyman too.

Just sold about 14 Ogre teeth for 700g.
 
I am currently exploring my new abilities as a vampire.

I have no interest in finding a cure. I can live with my disease now, since I found out how to feed on people. It's a whole new game. I have lost all my interest in the main quest. I will deal with that later. I will first indulge in a bloodfest of Satanic proportions.


Damn I feel evil. :naughty:

Today in Oblivion I:

** SPOILER - THIEVES GUILD QUESTS **

1: Went on a quest for the thieves guild to break another thief out of jail in order to find out about a job he was on that went wrong. Turns out he died in jail, prisoners in castle Skingrad are being handed over to a vampire in the dungeon, so I freed this other dude who heard from the dead guy where the stolen item he was supposed to get was. SOOOOO much fun sneaking out of the castle, avoiding the guards, with him right behind you. Oh yeah, I killed the vampire too.

2: Went on a quest for the thieves guild (given to me directly from the Grey Fox (head of the guild) who you get to meet :O) to, "acquire" a very powerful magic artifact hidden deep below a monestary far off in the Northeast mountains. After making my way through the monestary's extensive underground caverns, I discovered the object. (sorta looks like one of the palantír in lord of the rings).

** END OF THIEF GUILD SPOILERS **

3: Went on a quest for Azura (one of the Daedric Gods) to kill a bunch of her former servents who became vampires and were trapped in a mine. That fight was hard as ****. Wound up with Azura's Star, a unique soul gem that can be reused.

4: I bought a house in the Imperial city so I finally have a place to store my shit.

I did the vampire quest for azura, got that thief's stash from Bruma, got the amulet from Pale Pass for the countess, found an elven shortsword that looks badass and has a dmg of 10, went back to the daedra cavern from the main quest and killed that dark elf that takes all your armor so I could get all my assasin bonus quest items back

I am finding the Dark Brotherhood missions far too easy. The hardest one was the pirate one when I panicked as the the shipmate knocks on the door as you kill the captain. Thank god I was born under the sign of the Shadow.
As for the prison, it's just a matter of being patient. I was never seen once and I still managed to loot a helluva lot of stuff including my super awesome Legion Shield.
 
Completed the main quest today, pretty awesome. Spectacular ending. :)
 
I went to Cloud Ruler Fort or whatever with Martin.....how far in is that? not even scratching the surface?
 
Completed the thieves guild today, totally awshens. Spectacular ending as well. :D
 
became the Arena Champion, almost finished the Dark Brotherhood Guild (hopefully) and all that in 8-9 hours straight O.O

When do I run into a guild to get faction with? I just ended today with Jauffre declaring Martin the new emporer in the fort.
 
Did like 5 Dark Brotherhood "Dead Drop" missions.

Practiced bow and hunting skills in the forests north of the capital by hunting deer and wolves.

Did stuff along the main quest line. I am taking it all very slow however.

Also began the quest to join the thieves guild but I had to stop playing before I could complete it.

on the second dead drop mission, where is Matticus? i picked into his house and the only guy that was there was someone that told the guards on me :flame:

I forget what you even have to do in that mission.

You need to be more specific.
Usualy if you just follow your compass, you can find anything.

well, its the one where you have to kill the children, the lady gives you the gift list and you go and murder them all. >:D

Yeah, just follow the marks on your compass.
 
Well, I didn't accomplish much. I got a little further on the main quest.

I now have to go to a shire of some sort or get a Daedra artifact. Can someone tell me about how much percent I'm through the main quest?
 
Later on money comes VERY easily and quickly. I have 40k right now. I'll probably buy all the houses that are for sale in the game soon just because.

EDIT: I didn't really play much today. I just did a few quests for the fighters guild.

Where in the hell is the Garden of Dareloth where I meet the guy for the dark brotherhood? I've been ALL over the waterfront at midnight...

I thought the Garden of Dareloth was for the Thieves' Guild? Its by the shantytown outside the city wall...go out and take a sharp left....

The main story isn't especially lengthy so I would say you're about 25-30% into it.

Roughly said... about 80-85%.
 
Been playing for 15 hours so far and still haven't been to visit Jauffre with The Amulet of Kings. I'm enjoying myself far too much.
 
Does the game end when you complete the main quest? Or can you keep playing?

You keep playing and can do all of the other side-quests.
 
You bastards, I can't let myself play this game until after my exams (May 26th) or I will fail them. Just as well my DVD drive is broken, it's like a chastity belt at the moment. I want to pork oblivion so badly :(
