I looted a cave. Level 12 and got over 4k of stuff. Mythril armor and glass weapons. Hehe. Going to get a house at 7k, whats the 7k house like? Anyone know?

You can sell stuff to "fences." As you raise in the ranks, you will get more fences across the land. To raise your Thief rank you need to complete special missions which can only be unlocked when enough stolen items are sold.

As you have only just joined, your first "fence" is a man called Ogar in Bruma. If you select Thievery as your active quest, you will always have compass markers showing your nearest "fence."

Did some of the main quest. Found Martin and I'm out of Kvatch, just gotten to the Temple near Bruma. Did a quest for the half-orc at the arena, poor fellow and also did a few arena fights...just gotten past the elven twins.
I need money, like now...I really want to buy the 10k house in Bruma, since I love snow, love the town and...I waaant

After 3 were dead I convinced one of the last two people that the other person was doing it so he killed her for me. Then I just shot him in the back with an arrow. Man, poison apples come in handy.

i spent the last 2 hours doing thier contracts, the party of 5 (you'll get it later if you havent already ) is so ****ing AWESOME!

and the contract for L.L. is cool too :E

The party of 5 kicked ass. I did that one very quick. I got each one alone, and picked them off.

Anyway I restarted my guy and am now redoing a bit from Being sneaky first then a marksman to combat first then being sneaky.
Also instead of doing the Dark Brotherhood first I went to the Thieves Guide. Which I think is better cuz you get access to lock picks and such quicker and more cash.

Today I got three of my main skills past 70 and then realized that 4 of them were being adjusted thanks to a powerful ring that grants 4 of them a +5. Now I just have to get 5 more for each of them and then 70 for the rest and then I will consider starting the main quest.

Oh, also kiled a vampire matriarch in a vampiric dungeon somewhere southeast of Skingrad and got my first bit of ebony armor.

Oblivion is open ended. The game never ends or stops. When you beat the main quest, you carry on playing, completing other quests.

Last night I got to level 18 and later I realized that I didn't have 2 of the 4 spells needed to lower that huge pillar in one of the Mages Guild quests. Bummer. I also enchanted a glass claymore so it damages for 10 fire, 10 shock, and 10 frost with every hit! Can't wait to get home from work!!

I was actually disappointed in that armor set. It looks badass but there is no shield and the armor class on it is like 1/2 of the armor I get on my glass set. Besides I get speed and damage reflect bonuses on some of my glass stuff.

Still haven't started the main quest, 19 hours down the road. And I'm still not bored of just exploring and looting and talking to people.

So anyway, today:
I overcame a bug with a DB quest allowing me to progress further.
I ran through a haunted elven ship with no Magicka just to retrieve a crystal ball for an elf woman who seemed more capable to deal with the ghosts than I did. Although she did give me a awesome enchanted cutlass.
I went into a dungeon, saw about 5 ghosts, ran out screaming.
I got my first taste of Skooma. Then reloaded my last save because selling it is far better than drinking/taking(?) the stuff.

Finished the fighting guild quests in Anvil.
Found another blasted Oblivion gate.
Reached level 9.
