What did you do today in Oblivion?

Armorer is in the Imperial City, Market District.

She owns a sword shop, which has two hay targets against the wall to your right as you walk in.

I finally reached blade level 75 (with my pure mage character :D). In addition I spend all my gold to train my block skill up to 50 (had to join the fighers guild *grumble grumble*. But its well worth it. I can finally stop conjuring my uber powerful allies and actually enjoy the decent combat. Plus it seems with high enough blade level you can knock the guys weapons from him and high block you can counter attack (which I did non know). Oh, I forgot the best part. I got destruction level 75, so my fireballs do 50 damage for 3 seconds on touch. Takes away all my magic, but few enemies are left standing.

Nice. I have a battlemage, but now I have second thoughts, because it may be a bit hard to make a char good both in blade and magic. I feel as if my shield was just for show, usually when I use it I get stunned. I would pump up Agility a bit, but then again I need Intelligence and Willpower for my spells and Strength to actually deal some damage with the sword.

It seems you have a nice balance in your character though. What are his stats (I mean Strength, Intellgence and so on)?

I have totally ignored endurance, speed, and luck (they are painfully low). You might say its not a smart thing for a mage to ingnore endurance as fatigue and health will be low (and they are), but then again a mage can cast a restore fatigue and restore health spell quite easily (plus I have an enchanted weapon that steals 20 health point per hit and millions of charged soul stones). Or you can fortify health and speed if you like. Plus Breton's have a nice 50% shild spell. My willpower and intelligence are at a 75, my strength just reached 75, and my agility (though some smart leveling up) has just reached 50. I learned my lesson from morrowind, in that I do smart leveling up. When I reach a new level, I use skills wisely (ie: only streght based skills, or agility based skills) so that by the next level I get the best multipliers. Basically, my character will be a very weak and easily fatigued battlemage. However, once I start enchangting stuff, I'll make sure to get a couple of fortify health and fatigue magical armour.

And I have a question. In morrowind, you could not train a skill above its governing atribute (ie: can't train blade for level 55 if your strenth is 54). But you could increase in level via simple leveling up through using blade (ie: your blade could be 50 even though your strenth is still 45). Does this still apply for Oblivion.

Hey Roland, how did you come by so many soul stones. I know you probably don't really have millions :), just curious if you had a good way to find them.

Also during loading, a tip went by so fast I couldn't read it. It looked like it mentioned a place where you can freely recharge your magical items. Is it true that there is a place where you can recharge your weapons freely? I thought I saw a place with the name starting with the letter 'A'.

Maybe I was just hallucinating. Anyone see something similar?

Most of the guild halls have them just lying around and the hand does not turn red when I am about to take them, so it does not constitute stealing. If this is a bug or because I am a guild member I do not know. The more expensive ones I need to buy, but I've reached the point in the game where every single enemy has $1000 armour, so its really no hassle.

Good to know. All of the recommendations from the Mage guilds I got and I didn't even look through those places for things to take like soul stones. I'm not quite so well off with money. I have to plan ahead when using my staff. I allow myself two shots per dungeon. That's about all I can afford to use.

I need to train my mysticism 4 more points to get to 25 so I can cast soul trap spells to fill the few soul stones I have. They seem to go really fast though and the thought of trying to find these soul stones every time is a bit daunting.

I bought a house in Bruma for 10k, it is awesome. I beat the arena and now have a house mate, that annoying fan guy. Do I need him for anything? Or can I just tell him to go away?

Also raided a cave with 10+ vampires, cleaned them all and sold the gear for loads.

Enchanted my bow to do 20pt fire damage too. The game rocks now I pwn.

You can tell him to leave and he will actually take it pretty good. As far as I know he is useless.

i am now a VAMPIRE! and it is teh PWN! i love sneaking up on sleeping people, then having a snack. now do these people turn into vampires after 3 days or does nothing happen but me get a snack...

I was just the opposite with my battlemage. I always had my sword equiped but kept it in its sheath most of the time. I used the sheild a ton though, I would block their attack and then use a shock on touch spell.

when i closed and Oblivion gate yesterday (the one in Bruma) i got a sword and a shield that kicks ass. i forgot what they are called, but it took out an Imperial guard in about 15 hits (with my saber sword it took about 40-45, but by the time i found that out i was dead)

I have a Deadric Claymore or w/e that dose 16
But it's two handed, so I cant do sneak attacks. So I'm sticking with my 13 longsword.

Level 16 today! Just made 2250g from Vampires in just a few minutes!

Got a kickass bow but leveling so fast I keep finding better bows all the time. My glass longsword still seems to be the best out there though. Can't find any glass armor sadly, going to go bandit hunting tomorrow. :)

Sword does 12 + 15pt fire damage.
Bow does 8 + 20pt fire damage.

I'm curious about this as well, does anyone know? Is it possible to create a city of vampires?

I want a fan too! I already saw some screens of him on another forum. You get him by beating everyone in the arena?

Me three. I am a bit afraid that I am turning the whole Fighter's Guild into vampires. I also joined the Mages now, so they are next.
*evil muhaha*

Yeh but hes really annoying. I told him to go away as he scared me standing in the corner of my house bedroom. :|

Everyones playing!

Lets see....

I basically wandered about a bit tonight, plundered a haunted ship wreck, and got the wheels in motion for a new mage recommendation.

I did a few quest. The one where your on a ship with the 4 thieves. Explored a few caves found a few places. All on the way to that plant quest. lol.

Well, first thing I did this morning was kill the arena fan (kinda, I locked him between two remotely openable doors in the sewers, so he can't leave until I open them HAHAHAHA!), then I went on and did all the theives guild quests and got the fancy cowl, then I went and watched Top Gear for a few hours and came back and helped some lady find her husband (he ended up getting killed) and saved a mage that was locked in a dreamworld (the coolest quest ever so far, better than the inside-the-painting quest)

Right now I'm listening to music and downloading the Condemed/Blazing Angels demo

i loved that quest after i turned down the difficulty to half instead of almost full :(

Do I have to be in the Mage guild to do the dreamworld quest?

Today... I decided to start the main quest, and got up to where you infiltrate the shrine. Man, oh man. I lost all of my stuff, ran around for twenty minutes trying not to get killed, and then the game freezes up when I try to get into Cheydinhal, and I have no idea when the last time I saved was.

It's always funny when people say that they lost their games in Elderscrolls games because they don't save :D

Moral of Que-ever's story: Save often.

I made level 10 with my thief/archer character. Also became a vampire. God I love the powers you get when you don't feed. I never plan to feed. I can just charm somebody 50pts when I need to shop and I can just move at night. Not to mention the awesome stat an skill bonuses.

Got a sleek black horse named Shadowmere for free :D It kicks ass to defend itself and me when there's enemies around which is awesome.

Oh dude. Today, I went into this mine... and there were goblins in there, right? Nothing special, or out of the ordinary. Just goblins.

I went into this one room, started going down a deep rocky cooridor across some sort of land bridge.

There was a damn goblin army meeting or something in there! About 10-12 goblins all in a VERY tight spot, about 10feet by 10 feet. THey all heard me clunking around in my metal armor, and started rushing me. Panicking, and never experiencing combat with more than 2, let alone 12 goblins at the same time, I ran back to a doorway I came through, where it was a bit narrow. There I held off, and fought these bastards. Not all of them came, since some were still alive back where they first were spotted, but when battle was said and done near that doorway cooridor, this is the result. It was exhilirating! Note: There's only like 7 goblins showing here. two or three were archers, and about 3 more were held back.

I found out that Azura's star...
***Slight spoiler***
...can be used for as much enchanting as you want over and over and over again! I thought it would bind to whatever weapon, but it just takes the soul. Good deal!
***Slight spoiler***

I also attacked an imperial battle mage in the Arcane University and I thought everyone would turn on me, but the rest of the mages and apprentices helped me kill the imperial soldiers! Its nice to be among friends. :E

I wonder if the guys in the Fighters Guild would do the same for me...Its worth a try!

I completed ALL of the Dead Drops for the DB and was dissapointed by the ending. Or rather dissapointed at the lack of kickass items.

Closed 2 OBG today, they were literally next to each other! Came out one and another one was in front of me!

Lots of stones though. Still can't find glass armor at lvl16?

Yo momma!

Actually, I don't own this game, but I'm always looking for an excuse to use that phrase.

****ing spammer.

Today i did some arena battles, now im investigating underneath a ruined castle for the champion orc guy to see what ph4t lewt he'll give me once i do the quest :)

Found a pair of chainmail boots that give 8pts to Speed, a helmet that gives 10pts to Magicka, a helmet that gives 10% resistance to Magicka and two necklaces - one that offers constant water walking, and one water breathing.

Not a bad grab, I've gotta say ;)

Where does everyone find all these awesome magic items?

Do you know if there is any footwear like the Boots of Blinding Speed in Morrowind? I felt like I was crawling along in the game until I found those. <3
I almost stopped playing because I felt like I was going nowhere walking around. I'm glad I stuck with it though. :D

Must get job to afford Oblivion....

I remember those boots. There was a glitch in it so they wouldn't blind you, then once I updated with the patch it was fixed and I was all pissed :(.

I found mine in Cedrin (I think it's spelled that) dungeon and Fort Empire. I'm a level 12 Wood Elf Thief. The boots and helmet were on a Bandit Ringleader, along with a nice soultrapping axe, but I didn't need that.
