I don't quite understand this grand appreciation people have for our military, no matter what shitstink they're involved in. They signed a contract and they got paid, knowing what the consequences may be.
 
its easy to say that sitting at home in front of your computer, while they are getting shot at....

Well he's right, isn't he? Being a Catholic, the bible says "Thou shalt not kill." He killed. Ok, I don't see the problem here. Why's the caller getting mad, because he didn't want to be lumped in with sinners? Well too bad. If you're religious and you kill, whoops, you committed a sin. There's no "get out of sin free" card on this one.
 
Well, what's the bible translation du jour? Why is this even an issue when the bible is used to justify both cases? Where does his family come into play? What's his denomination? Maybe saying a handful of Rosaries will take care of things.
